There isn't a Topps Now card that will make my roster outside of Turner if I want a burner with a little pop off the bench, but even then, I have better options.

Lack of a change up makes him really struggle vs righties. He has nothing to throw a righty offspeed an away outside of a back door slider

No on 1, yes on 2.

I reinstalled my game and finally started getting it to show up. A lot of people had this problem. Try deleting and reinstalling.

@AZ_21_Cardinals said in bought gagne & loften for 23K each WHAT?!:
I bought 5 gagne's. They have to be worth 75 to 100k right? Rivera is 150k. Henke is 50k. He should be in the middle of those two?
Price isn't based on how good a card is, it's based on how rare it is. They will be extremely common cards. 15k tops within 2 weeks.

Had a guy step off the mound 30 straight times, cuz I would take an extra step while leading off. So annoying
That is justified. Extra step is pretty much a guarunteed steal with anyone with above average speed/stealing. He's holding you close, and you are the one being insistant and petty. If someone steps off twice, I realize they are paying attention and look for a different spot to swipe a bag.

That's pretty much the meta this year. Starters gain energy back really fast if only used for 2 innings or less. You can essentially never tax your pitcher stamina doing it like that. It's terrible.

@flamexJD20 said in Starters as relievers:
As is said multiple.times before, the Opener Strategy becomes more and more popular.
How SDS implented it in the game is the problem!- No Starter subbed in allowed after the 3rd Inning.
- It should hurt his recovery or drain his Stamina faster when subbed in.
- Relievers Stamina needs to be at 100%. I dont understand why they only have 75% Energy from the begin with
Agree with everyhing but disallowing it after the 3rd. If people want to tax their rotation stamina, they should be able to make that decision. However the consequences of that decision need to be greater. Right now people can throw Kluber and Hal for 3 innings each game, and never really be that concerned with stamina hits. There needs to be a minimum 1 game no stamina regen at all penalty added to starters brought in in relief. It should jump to 2 games if it's on short rest, not at max stamina.

The idea isn’t the issue, the execution of said idea is the problem.
Starters coming out of the bullpen is part of baseball, and will likely become even more prevalent in the future. SDS just needs to figure out how to limit the usage of starters out of the pen in RS.
I’m aware it is a part of baseball. But that’s not how they do it and you’re talking about 1 or 2 teams that do it, and they aren’t bringing in 3-4 starters every [censored] game. They might start a game with a reliever and then bring a starter in for the 3rd inning on. They aren’t using 4 starters for 2 innings each...
And on another note, I love how my opponent can’t touch my pitches for 5-6 innings and I go up 5-0 or 6-0 and then all of a sudden it becomes a HR derby and I lose 7-6 because they hit 7 solo HRs. It really is ridiculous
The issue which I have harped on several times is stamina and confidence. Reliever Reliever stamina needs to be at 100% inatead of 80%. Starters coming in as relievers need to be taxes a 1 game penalty before stamina regen begins. And need to be double taxed stamina while pitching in relief. Starting confidence should also be reduced, not to the point of no line on the mechanic, but not at neutral either. Starters as relievers need to be an emergency decision to get out of a game where your bullpen has been thrashed, not the META.

The WS rewards haven't been great either. Griffey's card won't make most squads, and May is dumpster juice when actually throwing his pitches, they just don't move. Britton is good, Pierre is good if you want speed cheese, but Lofton is the same card for under 20k. Everything outside of Britton has been underwhelming for WS rewards. May on paper at least looked like he should be good.

Man bosses this year are straight awful in my book
Last year we had Rickey,Verlander and Alomar all 99 in the 3rd inning
This year only Chipper is truly good for me in 4 innings
At least I can sell them
If you don't have Mantle, don't sleep on Victorino, diamond D and good leadoff hitter with a decent swing and sneaky pop. Roberts would be decent too if you don't have Brujan, Sandberg or Biggio.

@yeahlexx said in Who’s your catcher?:
I have biggio back there but I can’t take his bat anymore. I just can’t hit with him and it sucks. Who are some good options?
Biggio's bat is great, hard to take it out of the lineup. It's his subpar blocking that ticks me off. I almost want to play him in LF and sit Minnie, and just deal with Posey only being a slap hitter vs righties.
-
Rickey is kinda meh. He seems to only really hit the ball solid going to opposite field, and noone with a functioning brain is going to pitch a speedy slap hitter in a manner to get slap hits the other way.

It amazes me that there are still players that don't know The Show has a Settings menu in the game.
It amazes me that some people want to belittle a team for cheating (like the Astros-rightfully so I might add), but they have no problem using directional (which is basically the same thing the Astros did).
Bang trash can for pitch selection-only need to worry about timing.
Directional hitter-only need to worry about timing.
Must be a lot of self-loathing going on there...
Dude, I use Analog Stride not whatever Directional is....the reason I use Analog Stride is its the closest way of hitting in The Show...that's simply it. You think I'd use a pointing target to aim for a ball?, when I put it that way does it sound silly? that's cause it is.
Yeah, I played as well. I can tell you my swing was different to hit pitches up in the zone down in the zone, inside, outside. I had to control my bat. Was it the reticle we have on screen? Of course not. But I still had to physically control how and where my barrell went through the zone. Nothing wrong with manually controlling your stride too. But you are foolish if you claim that analog without zone allows you to control how you would swing the bat IRL better than zone. I don't think zone does an ideal job either, but it's better than analog alone.

Honestly if I do it, that's all I want. You to slow down a tad. Especially because some stretches are glitched and quick pitching warps aninations.

Who are some of the higher rated cards that are just trash for you?
Personally, mine are 99 Reggie Jackson, LS Degrom, and LS Lindor. Degrom hangs a lot of pitches for me, and I literally feel like I'm swinging a pool noodle with Jackson and Lindor. And then the guys I feel like i should be do do with I hit pretty will with. (Looking at you Keith Hernandez)
Hernandez doesn't have a ton of pop, but has elite contact and fielding. I like power at 1st, but Hernandez is 100% a usable card if you don't value power over everything.

Wait so if a card isn’t LS the quirks are just there for show?
Yes and no. Passive quirks let you know they meet a certain ratings threshold. They don't actively adjust anything in game though. But I live series player with Dead Red, will have better results with good swings on fastballs, etc. They actually do alter things in game.

@Kovz88 said in Catcher Throwing meter?:
My only guess from what you're saying is happening is that you are pressing the button too late. As soon as you release the pitch and realize the runner is going you wanna push the button for the base you want to throw to and as soon as the catcher gets the ball the meter should pop up. Then press the button again to stop the meter.
Nah, it's bugged out and some users don't get the meter on steals despite using Buttons Accuracy.
