When they announced 99s day one I wasn't expecting 90% of them to be locked behind a paywall. Yes, you can make stubs without buying them, but let's face it SDS REALLY wants you to buy them.
This year is inching closer and closer to EA level of BS. Making all of the program cards account bound was a terrible idea and had the effect that the stubs you used to make off of them are now just gone. But don't forget, you can always buy more stubs.
I'm REALLY not liking the direction SDS has gone this year in terms of content. Almost all of the 99's are locked behind stupidly low percentage packs. It's just creating a tiered system of people that can grind for 8 hours a day/buy stubs and everyone else.
I know that you can field a competitive team without buying stubs, but this year it seems as though you can only grind for 97s while the 99's are either major rewards for BR/RS (which I have no problem with) or they're in the Duo packs, which SDS is definitely NOT feeding the player base like they have in previous years.
MLB the Show is definitely miles ahead of other sports franchises when it comes to play to win mechanics, but this year just seems worse than previous years. This year just feels bad to me.
For those of you who don't feel like going through every player to see where they were born, here's my 9 players for grinding the PR section of the Clemente Program.

I would love to see a small QoL change for collections. Add an option to collect all no sell in inventory. It would save a ton of scrolling around looking for no sells.
I'm trying to grind out TA through mini seasons and I can't believe that there isn't a filter function. I'm trying to double dip and get team build missions done at the same time and it takes FOREVER to search for each position.
Dont' get me started on the mandatory showdowns. I hate just about everything about those darned things.
Usually the seats are blacked out in center field at Fenway. But I just played there and the seats were filled. I couldn't see the ball at all.
My $.02...I can't stand Showdowns and I hate that SDS made them necessary to finish programs.
I'm trying to grind TA and am really missing a repeatable conquest map to grind pitcher wins. I'm hoping that SDS adds one soon.
Sarcasm aside, who tf thought it was fun to try and hit homeruns with a 71 MJ Melendez? This moment absolutely sucks.
