Anyone had success inviting friends on ps4 from ps5 to play co op? Can it be done in the tech test?

How do you play a specific friends team in extra innings? Couldn’t you select their game tag and the option show up? Doesn’t seem to work. I only see random people when selecting the extra innings game mode.
