Pretty incredible for a guy who once claimed showdown was “impossible”

I think tying prestige to online play is a good idea. If you play offline, +3 in everything probably isn’t that meaningful anyway.
-
We get insane amounts of free stuf from this game, no need to complain.
-
I’m watching this guy pitch tonight and he’s topping out at 96, lots of 94 mph fastballs. Can we not do these fantasy prospect flamethrowers going forward?

How many backflips did Mazeroski do?

That is called using an opener, and I almost always do it. The 5th starter for me is usually a "closer". most of the year it's been Kopech.
Nice strategy... smh
Thanks? In the 1924 World Series (game 7), the Washington Senators used a RHP for 2 batters before bringing in a LHP. In the 1990 NLCS the Pirates used a "relief pitcher" to start the game. The 1993 Oakland A's rotation was so bad, Tony and Dave platooned guys all year in order to win as many as possible. Dave Fleming, a writer for Bill James, started talking about the advantage of using guys for 3 innings max in 2009, he called it the 3-3-3 rule. Baseball didn't recognize saves as a stat until 1969, and Baseball didn't use a 5 man rotation until the early 1980s.
This isn't a new concept, the video game just finally caught up.
Walter Johnson saves the 24 WS game 7 in extras - this happens every game in Ranked in early innings.
While it wasn't a stat at the time, Marberry got the blown save and Johnson got the win. Baseball has always been about creativity and finding an advantage. No reason people should complain about it being in the video game too.
We’re talking about a single game from 96 years ago. Doesn’t mean that people should be pitching 3-4 starters every RS game. This should be stopped.

This was the easiest showdown ever. The bar is incredibly low, the missions can be knocked out in a couple of pitches, and they’re all on rookie / veteran. Just try again.

Every time I play someone with any lag this year I can’t catch up to a 95 mph fastball. Why are pitch speeds so different game to game even facing the same exact pitchers ? It doesn’t matter if I’m home team or away. I’ve never had this happen in any year before 20 and it’s so bad I’m not wanting to play online anymore.
I had this problem to the point that I quit more games than I can count when the year started. Turned out, it wasn't lag, it was my TV. I finally figured that out when I upgraded to a monitor.
My record will never recover, but that's been working to my advantage. Everyone thinks I'm awful at the game now
Has nothing to do with a monitor. Like the OP stated, sometimes you play games where there’s a lag of pitches (or swinging as I see it) where you’re timing up what you see on your screen, but always behind it.

Thank heavens.

watch cbrev videos on youtube. They will help you develop a strategy for patience and knowing when to attack. I also started recording some of the ABs I strike out on as well as the ones where I hit homers. Then after the game I review them to study how to read the pitch out of the hand and what I did with my pci. When you watch the replay and aren't anxious to swing, you'll see that you really do have a lot more time than you think. So it all boils down to my first point - watch those cbrev videos and develop a strategy so you're anticipating, not reacting.

That Brett card was godly last year.
-
hopefully a collection reward that is better than a nameplate.
-
I like him, but won’t claim he’s good. It’s nice to have more control over pitch locAtion, but he won’t be effective against opponents who lay off the curve / change up. If they chase, then he’s amazing.
-
I disagree. Be the martyr! Let SDS ban you so this cheater can get the rest of us, in accordance with policy.

That would fix their server overload problem real quick

Wright and Geratol. Both amazing.

It is also surprising that this card would be a BR reward, given that he’s a new legend and there’s a ton of Braves fans on this game. On the flip side, it’s incredible that Chipper is as good as he is and free.

Most people I see now are working on TAs and just bunting through it.

I love how the dude in the video strikes out on a high inside sinker.
