I have to respectfully disagree with @raesONE_PSN, the AL isn’t bad, I actually started with the AL East since it gave me Chapman, Posada and Gossage which filled some big holes needed at the time but the NL is much more rewarding IMO. It’s really about how deep a position is. But the NL will give you a top pitcher (Glavine), a top shortstop in Banks (very thin position), a highly serviceable, glitchy swing Finley with great pop and speed, ultimately ending up with Soriano who can play 2B (another extremely thin position to fill
Very solid arguments I can't deny that. But if it were me, I'd still go with Trout. But that also has to do with the fact that I don't like Soriano that much. Finley is good but replaceable imo and Glavine is really good for sure but there's a lot of decent pitching out there. Banks is meh imo.
That’s why I said respectfully disagree because we all do it for different reasons. For me Banks is on the bench, can’t hit with him and I cannot take Goodrum out of my lineup, he’s so good. I got Trout in center and will probably be a mainstay for awhile guaranteed. Soriano I started out slow but man, lately he’s been so good, really love him.
And year in and year out, Posada is just crazy for me. He’s my best hitter online (still over .500 which is just ridiculous) and best hitter offline too
