    freeze offs
  • L LeftyJefe_PSN

I agree, but SDS implementing this system would be an official admission that freeze-offs are indeed still a huge issue that the company hasn't remedied for years.

D-E-D-I-C-A-T-E-D S-E-R-V-E-R-S please. Or if you're too cheap despite having the game on PlayStation, XBOX, and now Switch, implement a system where it's a friendly quit before the 5th inning and a win for the team leading after 5 innings.

Same here I usually float around 900-1100 last year but yeah can’t get out of the 750s

Same, except I’m even worse lol. Can’t get over 719. I’ve never complained about the BS late hits and late home runs, but wow. I’m getting killed with them every game now. I can’t pitch AT ALL. Maybe I’m just getting old idk.

They hid the PCI because contact no doubters are back. Those bloop hits contact swing. It's a small percentage of players ruining the game. Get rid of the outer PCI and this won't be a problem.

Can confirm. On the moonshot event, I got at least 3 good timing/PCI NOT on the ball HRs. Disgusting.

  • Moonshot or Moondud?
  • L LeftyJefe_PSN

I got my 30 wins but I didn't have a ton of fun playing. This event really did not feel like a moonshot event and felt more like a RNG fest. A lot of good pci/timing resulted in a lot of routine flyouts. Perfect/perfects seemed to be more sharp lineouts which is confusing since these are common pitchers on the mound. Contrast that with a handful of HRS on good timing/PCI not on the ball that I got and I have to say that I'm confused.

A lot of hits I saw were bloop hits from TERRIBLE swings. Very weakly hit balls that land in front of an outfielder. Foul balls were the worst because of the common pitchers' low H/9 and K/9, but when someone is swinging very early or very late, the game does not need to bail them out on consecutive pitch #10 out of the zone.

Where is the dynamic PCI for balls out of the zone that SDS kept touting in the streams? Because it sure as hell isn't being seen in the gameplay.

Part of why I miss classic DD. No rewards, just RS gameplay.

True, but there's no money in that.

Don't forget that every infielder can make the Jeter jump throw like it's routine. So dumb.

It's the post patch placebo. You're probably just seeing the ball well and squaring them up.

  • Update 1.10 Discussion
  • L LeftyJefe_PSN

This is very disappointing. It took SDS a ridiculous amount of time to even ACKNOWLEDGE the fielding issues on twitter and that was only AFTER Trevor May ranted on Twitch because his defense couldn't field the ball on 3 straight plays which cost him a league game. Look how quick they fixed the XP for MTO (which needed the added XP as incentive to play this long mode) and etc. Wonder why it is in SDS' interest to fix the extra XP some of these game modes were giving? If you have more XP, you will get more free rewards which includes end game diamond players which might curb a player's desire to spend real money on stubs. Forget fixing fielding which has never been 100% right since launch (I'm also counting the red throwing meter that was there since early release), hitting, baserunning, or even something as small as the HR scoreboard glitch which has been around FOREVER. It is OBVIOUS that what this community needed was for XP to be nerfed and a steal glitch which prevented the CPU in Showdowns to stop turning perfect grounder double plays with astonishing frequency. Given this track record, is it any surprise that the FIRST stub sale of 20's release happens to be on the same day as this patch? MLB 20 is nearing WWE 2K20 territory where the game from the prior year (MLB 19 and WWE 2K19) is superior to the newer release which is plagued by bugs and etc. MLB 20 will stay in the cabinet and I'll stick to playing MLB 16 and MLB 19. Of course, a good portion of the community won't care about how MLB 20's release has been a disappointment because this is the only "good" professional game on the market and who needs good gameplay when you have so much content? Community: Can you please fix this game? SDS: We're working on it, but here's a sick Chipper Jones card for the 3rd inning program. Community: W

I've had more fun thinking about MLB 20 than playing MLB 20.

  • The Show 19 vs. 20
  • L LeftyJefe_PSN

Fielding alone makes 19 better than 20 right now. 20 has the potential to be a much better game, but for some reason, patches have made the game worse. I love the QOL changes that 20 made such as being able to see your opposing team's fielding rating. I love the new throwing meter for catchers and that middle section they added for an outfielder's throwing meter trying to nail that runner at home. I've made WS multiple times in 19 and went flawless in BR 9 times. From my POV, ever since they touched timing windows, pitch speeds in 20 are faster than 19. All-star pitch speeds in 20 feel closer to HOF pitch speeds in 19. High sinkers (so broken) at 93 seem faster than 102 mph 4 seamers. All that aside, I can't excuse the game breaking fielding. It makes the game unplayable on a competitive level. That's just my opinion.

I've actually gone back and started playing MLB 19. I then played a few games of 16. 16 hitting was clean.

Are there any people online or did you only play offline?

I changed my PSN username several months ago so my old MLB 16 profile and cards got wiped out. I tried to get a BR game in (really late at night), but stopped searching after several minutes so I just played Conquest on high difficulty with the free bronze and silver cards (rookie A-Rod) that the game starts you off with. As of right now, according to the MLB 16 community market, there are 742 players online for MLB 16 which isn't bad for a 4 year old game. Pitch speeds were good, they had replay challenges in this game (no option to turn them off though), and umpires had different strike zones. Some blatant strikes would be called balls and some obvious balls would be called strikes with no option for perfect umpire. Fielding felt smoother too in the infield. Seems like the more animations SDS introduced in the later games, the more the game felt sloppy. The main thing is that I'm actually having fun with MLB 16 rather than MLB 20 where thinking about MLB 20 is more fun than playing MLB 20.

Anything is better than last year and the lineouts. How quickly everyone forgets...

I'd argue that 19 is better than 20 in its current form. 20 rewards user input slightly more but there are tons of lineouts and good/okays in this game. Also, "good/popped" has been introduced in 20. Oh and the fielding is much worse in MLB 20.
