I've kinda given up online play in sports games. The individual connection online plays such a big roll in the outcomes, even when it's not that noticeable, that it's not worth the frustration. One day I may bite the bullet and get a separate online set up just for gaming and direct line it to my PS5. Additionally, while I love the Show, historically this game does not reward patience and timing at the plate and all to often batting feels random. I simply enjoy grinding the programs offline now and Mini Seasons.

I've pulled one Diamond in a Ballin but I've pulled 6 in the regular packs I've earned so I can't complain. I feel like it was that way last year too. I'd open dozens of Ballin and only get golds.

3 issues that have existed through multiple releases still exist.
Occasionally when fielding the ball at 1st base your player freezes and won't throw or run to first. Once the runner is safe he throws home. 3rd year with this issue.
When entering manage lineup the game freezes. 2nd year with this issue.
Custom uniform logos vanish for a few games and magically return. 5th or more year with thus issue.
Has any of these ever been addressed or acknowledged by SDS ?

@x-814-x-MAFIA-x_PSN If you use 2 pitchers...both are bosses...Pitcher stats would equal boss stats...and by extension...PXP Earned would be the same
Exactly that's why the 10 PXP difference stood out.

The only thing i can think of is if you had some pitcher progress before the game. Did you try out Chandler maybe?
I didn't, everything was at zero in the program when I started. I go team by team in this program. Like I said it doesn't really matter it was just weird and most likely an occasional bug.
When I get Jones Ill test it out. It looks like Skenes and Cutch counted towards bosses but not Jones from your description.
I'm thinking it's a bug not related to this specific program or team. I have a feeling we occasionally get screwed out of a few pxp here and there and just don't catch on. There are several bugs in this game, some that have been around for years so it wouldn't be a shock.

Did you look at all three? You probably got the 520 for the PIT Pitchers, 510 for the PIT Hitters, and the full 1000 for the PIT Bosses.
Let's forget the hitting part. I pitched both Pittsburgh bosses, no other pitchers. Got 520 for Pittsburgh Pitchers only 510 for Pittsburgh bosses. Now add in Cutch hit a 2 run HR. The bosses number should've been higher than than the Pittsburgh pitchers number not lower.
What are the stat lines for the hitters and pitchers?
I don't recall but how would that matter? I started a 3inning game and my numbers were 0 for Pirates pitchers and 0 for Pirates bosses in the Neon missions and I only pitched the two Pirates bosses, All-Star Skenes and Storm Jared Jones., how could the Pirates pitching number go from 0 to 520 and the Pirates Boss numbers be 510? It should've been 520 as well. Then add in the 3rd boss Jolt Cutch and he went 1 for 2 with a 2 run HR so the boss numbers should've been higher than the pitchers.
Its honestly not a big deal because this program is a breeze to grind but I was wondering if anyone else noticed nonsense like this. Would it really shock any of us if there is one more buggy thing in this game?
Because you get more points, per stat, for a pitcher than you do for a hitter.
As I said, pitchers get pount per inning pitched, per K, per W, etc.
Hitters get ABs. So chances are your pitchers got 3 full innings worth of stats and your hitters got an inning worth of stats.
I know so let's forget hitting. I hadn't done a single thing in the Pirates Neon program. Everything was 0. I pitched Skenes and Jones. Two Pirates pitchers and two Pirates bosses. When the game was over I had 520 for Pirates pitching and 510 for Pirates bosses even though those were the only 2 Pirates pitchers I used

No but how would thar matter? Let's forget hitting. 2 pitchers, both bosses, pitch 3 innings and the Pitcher numbers went from 0 to 520 but the boss numbers went from 0 to 510. This is a constant topic of conversation....the answers won't change. RNG absolutely HAS TO BE in a sports game. It's statistics driven where the cards in your line-up are supposed to perform to the ratings. If anyone has played strato-o-matic sports board games or Dungeon & Dragons, it's like rolling the 20 sided die. Can they tune the RNG better? Probably but since no two people play the game exactly the same it's pretty hard to get it perfect. As far as online vs games, the connection is big. The majority of the time the person with significantly better connection will win. It plays a way bigger roll than RNG ever will.
-
Not super important but I'm curious....I'm grinding the Neon TA team by team. I just started with the Pirates. The "bosses", All-Star Skenes. Storm Jones, and Jolt McCutchen all in my line up. I played one game (Conquest) and pitched Skenes 2 innings and Jones 1 inning. For the Pitchers I got 520 but for the bosses 510. I also went 1 for 2 with Cutch, hitting a 2 run HR. How on earth can the bosses numbers be lower than the pitchers?

And then people will complain that there's nothing left to grind.
I'm not complaining because I'm not playing as much but this wasn't much of a grind anyway. If you have all the Jolt, Color Storm, and All-Star game cards it's pretty easy to blow through these without trying.
-
If you have all the Jolt, Color Storm, and All-Star cards it's pretty quick. I did the entire NL East in roughly 10 or 11 conquest games. I haven't tried yet but I imagine you could bang out 3 teams in a single play vs CPU game. You get 50% of it done with juat a 1000pxp with those players combined.
-
25k Edwin Diaz.....it's ok I deserved that for wasting my stubs knowing that's how it would most likely end lol...
-
Is it me, and this is not a complaint, or is the ball flying out of the yard offline. Out of nowhere I've been blasting HRs like crazy. Vs CPU and in Mini Seasons while grinding, balls that don't even seem like they've got the EV or distance are going out. I started a new Mini Season and hit 13 HRs in 2 games. I'm blasting 9 or more vs CPU. Really helping with the Alonso program.
-
I agree with the OP. The ease and quickness of having a team full of Diamond 96 to 99 happened way too fast. 5 days into release most people had a full team of diamonds and by the end of June you could field a team of leveled up 95s and never need another card, hypothetically.....
It also affected the market making low end diamonds basically close to quick sell price by the end of May.
I'd love to see us have to use silvers and golds a lot more to grind towards those diamonds. Even some commons and bronze. It would make building the team a lot more fun and rewarding as well as create a really healthy transaction market.

@Ledfoot_19_PSN I think you have it backwards. A lot of us running high fiber speeds experience some of the most lag. Geographical location matters a ton
Definitely. Good point.
-
RNG is a necessary evil in sports games. It's how well the tune it. A great example is how we had way too many wild pitches in vs CPU modes. Wild pitches happen in baseball and RNG determines how often in a video game. This was tuned poorly for a while.
That said online play is more about connection IMO. Patience and pitch location take a back seat to PCI placement and timing. I get it that's it's frustrating when we hit a lot of Good/Good outs and your opponent hits a ball just late off his shoe string for 457 foot bomb but that pendulum swings both ways. It's luck in a far from perfect game but the player with better connection will win 8 out of 10 times.
-
It's just my opinion but it's too early in the real season to have so many 99s. I think the increments went up too fast too soon and 2 bad things happened because of it.
-
Everyone will have a God Squad by the end of August, if they don't already.
-
Most Golds and low end diamonds became useless right out of the gate. It's why the market and stub earning became a chore this year. By the end of April an 85 Diamond was barely worth 5000. It's why there are so many complaints about pack luck this year. It's probably not that odds are down but odds are when you pull one it's barely at quick sell price.
I would love to see us have to grind more with silver and golds to earn those Diamonds and have them slow down progression. At this rate who's gonna give a [censored] about the finest voucher trade ins.....
