They will never change the randomness in any sports game. If they solely made it based on timing and skill they'd lose the casual and less skilled gamers who probably spend more on stubs than the hard-core skilled players.
-
I agree it's stupid but fortunately I won 4 times in 5 tries. I personally find moments more monotonous and annoying.
-
Ugh the XBH and SB moments suck. They rely too much on random events. Can't steal a base if you got a guy on base ahead of you....
-
All his moments killed me. I just don't hit with him but I skipped the 2 XBH one. That ball park is a terrible one for XBHs. If you complete everything else you can skip it.

Ronald Acuna in my pre order packs. Since then in earned packs I've pulled Yordan Alvarez, George Kirby, and 2 Blake Snells

That Showdown felt oddly easy, almost as simple as the HR Derby one. Agree with the poster who mentioned Gibsons speed changes but I only needed the 2 runs and blasted 2 solo shots in no time. Just stay away from his higher fastballs, all fly outs.

Decided to check out the new program to take a break from cfb25 immediately met with a bug on the Brett Phillips moment dude on second just stops on 3rd guess you have to hit a home run? Who knows already closed the game they really need to just take a year or two off from making these games
Moments are probably the worst mode ever created.
The difficulty level is not accurate.
It's a time suck because, and rightfully so if it's supposed to be baseball, walks happen, errors happen, poor baserunning out of user control happens, etc....
Add in the insane amount of warning track catches, jump at the wall robbery, and diving outfield catches, the mode never feels rewarding.
Before the fan boys jump all over me, I'm not whining about it being difficult. I can hit the HR needed on the first pitch or take 30 freaking tries it still always feels like you complete the moment when they let you not because you played it well.
I'm in the minority but moments had it's moment.....get rid of it. Fortunately I have the time to complete most programs without doing them but man I feel for those who don't....

3 Golds and Diamond Dylan Cease. It's not great but it's free so no complaints

I surround my original stronghold first then take the nearest stronghold to the west of it while filling in the blank spaces in the North West until I reach what would be Seattle.
I then move down the West Coast and start back East. By the time I reach Houston I can start occasionally skip to reinforce.
I'll make 2 large groups and continue moving East through the south and middle of the map. I'll take all the South East strong holds and then just skip to reinforce moving up the East Coast taking two or three strongholds a turn.

I get what the OP is saying. Most of us play a lot so season to season we can start with a pretty good team. I think his point is if you're a really casual player who loves the game but has very little time to play you can't possibly keep up season to season and finally unlocking cards means nothing if they become useless because you didn't have the time to grind out a bunch of wild card slots. That said I'm pretty sure that's the plan by SDS. You either play their game a lot or break out your credit card. While I enjoy the game and play a lot, this game was way better 4-5 years ago in my opinion.

Willie McCovey was a nightmare but the moonshot event isn't a problem. If you're trying to bang out 15 HRs play vs the CPU in Colorado. I hit 18 HRs with my live series lineup in one game. It's boring but if your interest is juat banging it out quick for the rewards that's the path.
-
I will say the Yordan card so far is worth it. Threw him into my line up for ALW affinity. 4 conquest games 11 AB 4 HRs 4 Doubles. Guy hits bombs or smoked gap shots. I've always hit well with his live card so I must like his swing.
-
Put speed guys your top 3 batters, good vision and power after. If you don't put the first two batters on restart immediately.
-
Lol...so if anyone read earlier McCovey took me FOREVER. Easily over an hour and a half to hit 2 HR on Veteran with a 99 power hitter. Hundreds of pitches.
I'm now doing a conquest game on veteran with players lower than McCovey. I've hit 4 hr with the first six batters on a total 11 pitches.
SDS do not tell us Veteran in moments is the same Veteran in all modes.

For those that beat Percival, how did you do it? I need some tips because i can't even make contact his pitches are so fast.
Pretty much what other guys said. Put speed in the top 3 good vision and power after. If you don't put the first 2 batters on, restart. That's how I did it.
-
Finally....I think the game felt bad for me. After hitting just 1 HR in 1 hour and half I got to fat change ups in a row for bombs. Program done and I'll never use a McCovey card ever again lol
-
Willy McCovey....I'm noticing all my Good and Perfects the exit velocity is always under 100. Is he using a whiffle ball bat?? This one is now taking me longer than the rest of them combined. I am 1 hr and 30 min in I have 1 HR

I have 3 left but had to step away for a break. Willie McCovey swings a pool noodle and 85% of what King throws is out of the strike zone. The other 15% he's painting corners. I got 1 mistake pitch over 30 minutes which I hit for a HR but sometimes you need to step out of the batters box and adjust your gloves and jock strap for a bit before stepping back in....
EDIT: just have Willie left. Grrr
Oracle park is the absolute worst place to hit home runs.
Unless you are a power hitting lefty.
this moment is more a matter of luck than anything, just get the sinker at the bottom(not under) or a hanger and hit it into the place named for him.
Therin lies the rub, he has the advantage but getting the pitches to hit.....That's really my problem with it I guess. King, unless it's just bad luck on my part, seems to only throw bad out of the zone pitches or Cy Young like painting of the lines. Usually try try again you'll get your pitch but I'm just not. Hitting a couple off the wall isn't helping the frustration level lol
