Why wouldn’t Muncy just plant his feet so that he could have a better chance of making a good throw? Davis Schneider was absolutely nowhere close to first when Freeman caught the ball. This is also not the first year I’ve noticed this type of play happening at least occasionally.

Ohtani is hung out to dry, but then Vladdy throws the ball to second even though he can almost reach out and just tag Ohtani, who is about as close to first as he can be without being on the base. Ohtani then just gets back on first.

One day recently I plugged my controller in to charge it before seeing two of the three bars full and putting my console into rest mode. After turning it back on the next day, the controller has only one bar. Has anyone ever had this happen? How does it actually lose battery power while it’s supposed to be charging?

Anyone felt it’s extremely easy to steal bases, even with guys who are decent but definitely not excellent at stealing? I’ve played almost ten games in franchise mode on legend, and I’m stealing bases like crazy. I think I’ve already passed 25. Mookie Betts already has five, and I think Kyle Tucker has at least three.

I’ve posted about this before, but why does it seem like a pitcher’s stamina rating always decreases over the course of a season no matter how he performs or how deep he pitches into games? I believe it should decrease (as a starter) if he’s consistently not lasting very long, but I also think it should increase if he consistently is efficiently making it through 6-7 innings.

Editing pitchers’ repertoires is something I’ve been doing in recent years, and I’m wondering what your opinion of that is. Do you think it gives you an unfair advantage, say, if you add a pitch or two, including a breaking ball that has a decent amount of break and that’s not just a low break breaking ball?
In my opinion, it can, but the game allows you to do it. Plus, you still have to provide the right controller input.

Closer entrances were in last year as well
Generic for all closers, no advancement from what I've seen year over year.
I’m a bit disappointed that Edwin Diaz’s entrance was taken out sometime after ‘24. They could add Jhoan Duran’s entrance too.
I’ve never heard Freddie Freeman chants in the series either. They had chants for Jose Altuve and Ha-Seong Kim in ‘24. I’d think they could easily add chants for Freeman.

Wrong clip
Thanks. This is the right one.

I think it has been a thing for years, and I think this is an example. Why couldn’t Edman just flip the ball to Betts using his glove?

Has anyone experienced the input lag that results from playing on something like a big TV? Maybe I’m wrong, but I always thought that was never a problem for me in MLB The Show 24. I was watching someone on YouTube yesterday, and he said it’s essentially impossible to be consistently good at hitting while playing on a big TV. He said you need a monitor. I currently use a 42 inch TV. And does anyone know why the game (or big TV’s) aren’t made so that input lag isn’t a problem? This makes the game feel very frustrating.

Who do you think will be on the cover next year? I’m going with Cal Raleigh as my prediction.

I noticed that when your player is on base that the game will sometimes skip ahead in the count. If this wasn’t changed for 25, I hope it gets changed in the future. I like to steal bases sometimes, and seeing the speed of the pitcher’s delivery the first pitch or two helps me get a better idea of how likely it would be that I succeed.

The only way to unlock perks is by playing. The perk challenges are currently bugged and don't give them. You'll eventually get them all- one of my RTTS position players is in her fifth season and has every perk.
I think 'advice on how to be successful' requires context for us. Generally, though- play well, and play smart. Don't make errors, hit the ball well, react quickly to plays, put points into stats that matter for the position you're playing- eventually you'll have enough (over years) to put points into everything.
What position are you playing? There might be more advice based on that from other people here.
I’m playing center field. I’m in Double-A and about 80 games into my first season. I think I selected slugging spark plug as my player type. I’ve had two meetings with my manager and gotten generally positive feedback on my performance but also been told I need to do more to get called up a level. Defensively, very few to no errors, but it has been a struggle offensively since I have about a .640 OPS.
So would you say struggling statistically early on is basically guaranteed or at least likely in this mode? It seems like that since many of your player’s attributes start fairly low and have to progress a lot. -
Just wanting advice about being successful as a position player in this mode. Does anyone have any? Also, I was looking at my player’s perks. How exactly do you earn and equip a higher rarity skill set to unlock more perks slots?

I never played 25, but has anyone had countless obvious missed check swing calls? I just wanted to say again that I hope the problem that resulted in that in 24 has been fixed or will be fixed soon.

I don’t have it set to perfect since I enjoy having the occasional challenge at first base. So then that would really get into nobody ever having the ability to challenge any play that’s not at first base, which I would think they could and should change. And I don’t even mean a big expansion to it—because most of the time I’d like the initial call to be right. But having to use a challenge occasionally does add a little nuance to the game. And a small expansion is something I’d like to see.

I’m still playing 24, as I won’t be buying 25. Recently I tried to steal second, and when I first saw the throw and rest of the play unfold, I was pretty sure I was out. Nope. I was actually called safe. I even went to the replay and confirmed what I thought. How does such a blatantly missed call like that happen? And how do neither I nor the CPU have the ability to challenge any plays not at first base when there is a blatant missed call? And lastly, why is it that the CPU never does a mound visit and can’t ever challenge any plays whatsoever?
-
I’m still playing 24, and one thing I believe about pure analog pitching is definitely not that it’s too hard but that consistently making well located pitches can take a little more time, effort, and precise controller movements. So my question is, “What’s your general pitching strategy?” Do you try to hit the corners at all costs, or do you pitch a little faster and focus a little more on not trying to be perfect and not killing yourself trying to be perfect? And I realize many don’t use pure analog, so feel free to answer even if you don’t use it.

I hope to see the addition of a stat like team strikeout rate, as well as number of times picked off, to this game. Strikeout rate gives you a better idea than just total amount of strikeouts since it takes into account either total at bats or total plate appearances.
-
As much as I’d like to buy 25, I definitely won’t be. I’m 73 games into a season in franchise mode in 24, and I’m definitely not buying the game if I’m just going to have to start over.
