my 96 overall RTTS player isnt syncing as the same overall in diamond dynasty because i deleted the original RTTS character i created from the file management screen in options.. how do i sync my new RTTS player with diamond dynasty? when i deleted the first one then created a new one and tried to go into diamond dynasty it asked me which created ballplayer i wanted to continue my progress with in diamond dynasty well i must have chosen the wrong player which was supposed to be deleted so im not sure how the 65 overall deleted player ended up in my diamond dynasty instead of my current and active RTTS 96 overall player??? Does anyone know how to sync this correctly and refresh it? Im afraid to unlink my psn and the show accounts on the top left of the main menu because im seeing all over the internet where players who have unlinked their accounts have lost all their diamond dynasty and rtts progress which would be a nightmare given im almost 80 hours into the game already... has anyone come across this issue of deleting their first RTTS created character then creating a 2nd one then selecting the wrong one to take into diamond dynasty and now it wont let you change it or refresh to the current active RTTS player? This is odd to me that this doesnt refresh and sync automatically based on whichever RTTS player is currently active....

You created character will, unless they plan to patch it, always show up as a level 65 because Diamond Dynasty at the jump doesn't take into account your equipment or loadout. Your stats should remain when actually playing, though. You'll see the correct breakdown then.

Yea but when you hit continue and confirm it you can’t go back so by the time you realize you’re pitching you’re liked into the screen

Yup. It's been like this since early access

Honestly this is so disappointing, RTTS is my number one reason I play this. I was two seasons away on MLB 20 from retiring. Come to find out it doesn’t transfer... LAME. Now, starting this year, I’ve already played half of my AA year and everything is nerfed. My contact has moved 4 attribute points from 30 to 34. What the heck SDS! I’m hitting .350+ and yet 80% of my hits are bleeders or bloopers over infielders heads or down the line. It’s nearly impossible to square one up and send it out. I still HAVEN’T hit a home run regardless of what perks I use on the ballplayer loadout. The mode is just super disappointing this year because of the such slow progression. Why couldn’t they just keep doing what was WORKING??? SDS please, go back to the RTTS we all loved.

Wait, does this mean I can't actually transfer my 20 character into 21?

No...or yes? Whichever one means "You can't transfer previous year characters into 21"

  • We should be able to manage our teams not computer.. WTF???
  • J JoeShrike_XBL

You're not a manager in this mode. It's called Road to the Show, not Road to the Front Office. If you want that experience, Diamond Dynasty and Franchise mode give you that option. In RTTS, you're just a player. You don't have say in when you play, how long you play, or even really what team you're on.

  • Only making progress if you choose the loadout that is currently activated?

@joeshrike_xbl said in Only making progress if you choose the loadout that is currently activated?:

    @BuddyHightower_XBL
You're running into two issues and conflating them, which isn't your fault at all. The first is that loadout don't switch. In that specific instance, when you were playing as SS or DH you weren't getting XP with those loadouts because your active one was still SP. Basically you were playing SS with SP as your stat booster. This is apparently a bug. I don't think this is working how they wanted (but I don't know anymore)

The second issues is you've now run into the progression bug, so now you're just not making progress regardless of whether or not you have the right loadout selected. Maybe try going into Diamond Dynasty (DD) and playing a conquest map game (because it's just 3 innings) and then go back into RTTS. You will still need to switch loadouts in the main menu like you did, but you should (emphasis on should) get XP for them as long as you don't leave RTTS again. As soon as you do, you'll likely have to go through a DD round again.

First issue: Not really true, Yes it says that SP is still active in the loadout selection menu when choosing my DH loadout, but I can choose DH and my stats are applied as my power hitting is much stronger. You can even see that the power section of the PCI is longer in that loadout. So I am using the loadout I selected.

It's entirely possible that it is applying stats but the game still isn't registering that you switched loadouts from a progression standpoint. The underlying bug is still the same, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are small variations with it. I've only really run into it going from SP to position player so maybe that's part of it. Regardless of whether or not you can get it to work it's ridiculous that you have to do any of the workaround stuff, and even crazier we've had no ETA on a patch to fix the issue.

  • Does your RTTS player grow in DD?
  • J JoeShrike_XBL

You will always show as 65 overall (unless they patch this) but your loadouts apply so you could realistically be comparable to an 80+ player

Man they didn't care about RTTS at all this year, huh? Like the progression thing is bad but really only became super wide spread after the early release patch and the servers are the servers but this? Everyone seems to have this issue and that means that no playtester went deep enough into the mode to try for a fourth pitch. That's kind of insane.

He probably quit playing when he realized nothing else was working, lmao.

It took me a good day to figure out nothing was tracking, because I didn't even know badges upgraded, etc. If you helped build the game you would know within a game or so.

I know 'lol' is thrown around like nothing these days, but this literally made me laugh out loud. Kudos

Nope just archetype progress. Base stats only grow in RTTS

@dethgryp_PSN Just wanna give props out to you. Really enjoyed being wasted and playing the hell out of this game right until that update at 0500 lol

  • Where are the devs?
  • J JoeShrike_XBL

@TheRealHan17_PSN Some of the issues, sure. You can't account for everything in a live environment. But others? This game has had server issues at launch every single year since like 15. it's not new. It's worse, but not new. Knowing that, which I do and you do and SDS sure as hell does, it's entirely foreseeable that when you tie single player progress to an always online component and that component stops working, single player progress stops. You cannot progress in the majority of this game without being online, and you cannot be online because, like every year, the servers have issues. It is extremely fair to be upset at SDS for making the conscious decision to tie an otherwise offline mode to their crappy servers.

The biggest issue, and I think you'll agree, is basically their lack of transparency here. People literally cannot progress in this game. RTTS loadout progress and switching is flat broken. DD players are getting booted out of games and not getting their rewards. SDS I am sure is working on them but as you mention saying 'future release' is just terrible phrasing. They need to come out and say what is wrong and be very specific on how they're working on it. This isn't like a roadmap issue, and like tying RTTS to DD was a gameplay decision so whatever. I'm happy they're looking at it but that takes time. There are very specific bugs that clearly prevent playing from playing the game SDS intended and they need to give a more concrete ETA on when a bug fix is inbound.

  • Training Sessions,...
  • J JoeShrike_XBL

I did a training session and then played a game and the schedule didn't list me as pitching the next one (which I ended up having to do) so I had to close out the game and restart the week so I could have the right loadout (cause that's broken) and it didn't give me the option of training again on the same day as before. I don't think there's any mechanic involved, just a broken game mode.

  • MLB the Show on GAME PASS!!! 🤣
  • J JoeShrike_XBL

@Rowdy_Ax_Thrower_PSN That's a really constructive comment and applicable to the issue at hand. I'm sure the OP, like I, really values your observation that even if you have a physical copy of the game, the publisher can decide to shut down the servers and make it unplayable. It's certainly right in line with third party games on Gamepass being on a rotation that usually doesn't last more then a year at best. Thank you so much for taking the time out of what I'm sure is an incredibly busy schedule of interjecting things that you know into conversations that aren't specifically about those things. I really value your contribution to the community as a whole and I am so glad you replied to me. Thank you again!

  • MLB the Show on GAME PASS!!! 🤣
  • J JoeShrike_XBL

@Sagacious1_XBL Except now you own the game, which people who play it on gamepass don't, and will still have it when it rolls off gamepass in a couple months, plus all the extra stuff. You're really only down 50 bucks tops. There's so many more reasons to be annoyed at shelling out cash for this game at the state it's currently in then something that is at least partially on you.
