Probably because it’s old and stale. The thought of playing a baseball game for fun of competition is gone, it’s all about chasing Pokemon

Does anyone here actually enjoy baseball? There’s only a starting 9, find yours. No need to buy packs just play a theme team, buy the 9 or earn the starting 9 you want. Play the [censored] game
-
Don't even get me started.
According to others, you just go with the flow and adapt to slow clunk.
Adapt.
-
I am not a fan of the SDS business model. I abhor it. They haven't tested a [censored] thing for years and just keep rolling it out year after year.
HAVING SAID THAT
For craps sake we are playing baseball. The 40k packs suck but it's not like you need every player in the pack. Who gives a darn. I have been waiting for something to buy, to fit to my team. I do not need every single player.
If you play competitive, good for you, you have a team that looks exactly as the team you are playing. BUXTON BOOST, etc. You guys are expletive.
Stop freaking whining. You sound like Me.

When making a lineup do test this: put all of your tall players together, short, etc.
For instance, group Elly, Judge, O’Neil Cruz together, then put your shrimps together say, Altuve Wong, types. Don’t stagger them.
The strike zone differential distracts yourself if you stagger them in the lineup. So if I know I have 3 tall sluggers in a row, it is easier on the eyes to have them in a bunch and know the strike zone for the players.

It plays the same as it did in 2020 or prior. It irritates me to no end that they don’t add more base hits to the game or anything as far as physics, no really new animation. The AI is dumb as [censored], any difficultly(offline) just throw fastball up and in fastball up and in, low offspeed and get an out. While I don’t mind the ease of that in a grind it’s just not baseball unless you play online.
They have to give high contact/low power guys power above their normal attributes to play within their physics.
All defenders play way too fast.
[censored] list goes on forever as far as gameplay. Instead of making studs like Carew Gwynn etc get on base it’s constant lineouts.
The gameplay is [censored], and needs a complete overhaul.
Content is fine. Never had a complaint with that, I’ve always said you can only play with 9 players so you don’t need 60 99 players.
Just make ones that aren’t 125/125 viable.
Pitcher confidence is dumb [censored] hell.
I could go indeed go on and on.
They don’t fix ANYTHING there have been no gameplay adjustments, for years. Patches only fix exploits and adding programs and uniforms that aren’t in collection. I seriously have no idea what they do all day.
They use the same baseball cards over and over, I myself could design baseball cards better than them with stats that made more sense. I’m not convinced they do much at SDS on a day to day basis. Must be like 2 people working there.
-
Laziness is the word. They’ve made 0 changes since forever. Just put a new shell on players.
They aren’t designing a game for gameplay they just print digital baseball cards for Topps.
-
We could all sit around and design baseball cards all day. All they do is slap new card images on the same players that play in an old [censored] engine. The stats don’t mean [censored] really, other than like power and contact, speed and reaction maybe on defense. You’re sold baseball cards that only have like 4 stats that mean anything.
It’s funny some people are like but yeah when you hit that threshold of 82 on power it really shows an effect. No it doesn’t. I feel the stats mean something per 20 points. Anything between is useless. So that’s dumb. May as well have stats of 1-5 on all players.
They make it seem like it means something but it absolutely doesn’t.
There’s 4 stats maybe that mean anything. The rest is just window dressing.

Walker played famously for the Montreal Expos which are defunct, and became the Washington Nationals in a move.
Same franchise.
-
Seriously did you guys test this in a year? You can just sit on home page and press X and nothing happens.
Then you make bumper buttons go to wherever the programs are, Home page is sweet, I Love clicking on all the things I have no idea how to find. This game is a search to get anything done.
How did you possibly hold a tournament with this UI? That means you spent a year, and tested,a game, and came up with his UI.
UI Guy fired.

If you, like me, took awhile to figure out which team a WBC player plays for - for some reason they made the design decision to only include this in image form and not on the main player card in text.
If ever there is confusion and you need to know what team they play for, open up the player card and D-pad down to the third screen, and in the upper left hand corner there's a pennant with their team.
This data nor the same pennant image are NOT included on the player card's first screen, for some inexplicable reason. Yet another thing that would have been easily worked on in studio if they QA'd prior to release.
So just a heads up if you are looking for it.

Same I think I bought him opening night for like 15k, it’s worth my time to overpay as I hate Diamond Quest.
-
Probably the best gameplay, roster editing, probably the best baseball game that got baseball right where MLB went wrong.
Gameplay first needs to be a mantra all of the MLB people grasp in betweeen their 20.00 bills.
-
[censored]’s also fair enough that there’d be game worth fighting for. So eat it
If you want a game where you can have 1,100
Homeruns before 100 doubles. You got it. If you want a game where they bastardize your baseball memories then this is your game.I just want them to fix their bugs man. Which the whole game is a bug
-
We don’t really pay more. Standard is $70 for a year of a baseball game. Going out with your buddies or a girl will cost you that in one night. I am assuming you played the show more than a few hours. You can’t expect everything when you pay minimal price for a game
You’re exactly who they love. A simp.
-
Orioles is their default logo for any bug it’s been happening for years. I assume it’s just a placeholder for logos, player cards, pretty much anything if the game senses a bug, or latency or any sort of problem with connection to their servers.
It ain’t one they’re going to fix soon.
They aren’t in a hurry to fix any bug really. Or get new servers.

I’m an auditor and the question OP asked is a valid one. Oversight in this day and age is a rarity, and there’s no way to prove anything quickly.
Show me a balance sheet and I can show you where the money is/was/will be.
If I were auditing them I’d look for (their odds %) against reported income.
If they’re lying it’d show up very quickly.
You give them a dollar for a pack. 1.00. So bank has a dollar. How did they report that 1.00 - they haven’t given you anything in return so they must report that 1.00 as income somewhere because they’ve given you nothing.
That’s what stubs are it’s what any player card is - nothing but profit and laugh your way to the bank.
Then do the same next year
-
Agreed. Tragic

@jaychvz_XBL said in anyone losing interest?:
Welcome to gaming , who plays the same game forever without atleast taking a break for a little bit from your favorite game .
It happens to all games , i use to play COD everyday, couldn't get enough . I haven't play it in over a year. Baseball is my constant though. Ill stop playing for a few weaks , but then pick it back up.It’s this. It’s baseball, every game is the same. If you’re bored of baseball then stop playing it and go do other things. The “grind” mentality of players feeling like having to get cards the day they come out is what’s the problem, and that’s on the player. Quit for a week or two and you’ve got new content. Why do so many people think they have to have the best cards the day they are released?
I think where SDS has dropped the ball is on Captains - other years there were many more captains and options of creating theme teams and this year they’ve shelved that.
I only have interest in Cardinals players or former players, but due to the enormous amount of TA I’ve had a blast making other theme teams but they’re all team limited.
Wish there were more captains available to screw around with more players I’d never normally play with. I’m bored in that aspect but otherwise it’s just baseball.
