Probably because it’s old and stale. The thought of playing a baseball game for fun of competition is gone, it’s all about chasing Pokemon

I have always tried to played both against the CPU and other players in DD. I have never been a fan of ranked or BR but I did like to play events. The way they structured events this year, I haven't played a single game online. I typically don't have much time to play Friday-Sunday evening because I am typically not home. The times I do have to play I do mini seasons or conquest stuff. Them not letting events run all week has kept me from playing online and just doing CPU based games and even playing a couple days a week in the evenings I am running out of stuff to do. So really poor decision making on content and how its handled this year.
I’ve said it a thousand times but it’s to do with matchmaking.
If they applied their ranked matchmaking to all methods of online play it would supercharge peoples interest in say, events or BR
When someone does dip their toe into online play - Events- they’re immediately facing the turds and World Series players and trolls because the ranking resets every 2 games.
Whereas in ranked you play according to your rank.
They’d get a ton more online players if they’d match make better and someone’s first time in an online game - events because it’s 3 innings - they don’t get trounced 15-0 in the first inning
If they would do simple easy things they’d make the game competitive and fun.
I mean [censored] - they could matchmake based of easy stuff like avg or ERA and let those people play against those people.
Then bots would play bots, WS would play against WS, and casuals play casuals. Even taking in those 2 simple criteria
Plus you’d weed out cheaters really fast if they’d go against each other

No sarcasm best thing I’ve seen yet. Went on vacation for a week and come back to a cool new feature.
Reasonable goals and encourages people to play online and I can finally stop the minseason grind which no one enjoys.
Thank you, tip of the cap.

Does anyone here actually enjoy baseball? There’s only a starting 9, find yours. No need to buy packs just play a theme team, buy the 9 or earn the starting 9 you want. Play the [censored] game

I hope you all lambasted them. I went soft, but hit them hard where it counts.
Found myself pressing “very disappointed” a lot I answered it all honestly but a lot of them - pure on 0 score and if I could go negative I would.
And the crappy thing about it is, they’ve done this before and not even applied any changes in years.
The survey is basically “can we still keep making money off of you by doing nothing?”
Here’s a pack of bronzes. As a Thank You
Keep up our good work!

Any action forward is good action. Just want to make sure people know they are seemingly listening to the community which is a great sign.
-
Seriously they can go F themselves. From the marketplace bs to the connection problems. I’ve sent them many complaints and have never received anything back.
You pour a mean Caucasian, Jackie

Don't even get me started.
According to others, you just go with the flow and adapt to slow clunk.
Adapt.

I feel like SDS should hire Dolenzz like they did Cbrev. Imagine if you had just one of him can do more than their staff
I'm curious, do you use the extra Z in my handle because I had to do that to get the name on Reddit?
It's always just been Dolenz here. It's a name that goes back 26 or 27 years to when I was trying to come up with a clever name for my Monk in Everquest and wondered if anyone would catch on if I used a name of one of the members of the band The Monkees.
Yeah I think from Reddit. You’re just a generally cool dude and a baseball fan and I notice you around. You create apps you just seem like a big fan and if you were on SDS’s staff I bet the game would be better.
Just an idea.

Diamond Dynasty is not meant for beginners
Stop right there. Why should playing with legends flashbacks tons of other baseball players be gated by “you’re not good enough to use these legends you scrub” sort of mentality
People that play offline or in franchise and game modes you don’t enjoy shouldn’t have to engage in this [censored]. They’d like to play say, WBC with the WBC players without having to be railroaded into the gacha system.
Whether you suck or not at something shouldn’t exclude you from content
Some people would love to play franchise with the new cards and vast assortment of players. Let them, what is the harm?
-
Isn’t it funny how we all excel at different players/swings? Kind of cool
I hated kinsler so much and tried too hard due to Edmonds being my reward
Which meant each time kinsler came to bat I’d be over eager etc
I’d get singles
Either way always put that guy leadoff for more bats til you get it
-
Hug your wife and kids, spend more time with them. Don’t let FOMO get you down, there’s not really much to lose out on up in here until they make some changes
-
Kinda feels that way. Like a last push for money and not afraid to alienate the player base because it’s shutting down anyway. I really wouldn’t be shocked at all if Sony pulls the plug anytime now and maybe already has notified them that this year is it.
Otherwise the terrible effort put out this year along with condescending communication on SDS part is almost inexcusable. The mobile game is doubling down to squeeze that last bit of juice out of the orange before it’s trashed.
Yessir
And also, Topps has always made the worst baseball cards their design always has. So Sony doubled down to pair with terrible graphic design.
Fleer, Donruss, Upper Deck - why would they sign an exclusive thing with Topps
Topps who makes horizontal cards to begin with. A bright shining bulb At Topps decided to make baseball cards lay the other way - and not only that most of the images they choose are stupid, and you also can’t read the players’ name

Grinding have always been a pain (kind of), but in the past, at least, you got something of value out of it.
Time = money. The problem is us as consumers thinking we need a reward or a shiny thing for our time
The time spent is this game is not worthless because of stubs, it’s worthless because any card reward you do get isn’t better than what you’ve already got. Schwarber WBC plays no different than 74 Schwarber (just guessing he’s a bronze) which means the stats don’t matter and everyone is trying to get a new version of a card that plays the exact same as their bronze counterparts
Were chasing carrots that look cool and don’t affect much. Most of the stats are meaningless
I want to see a “speed” test where we watch a 0 speed guy vs a 99 speed guy get out of the box and run to first
You’ll find most likely that there’s very little difference it’s all tied to animations
It’s like a yo-yo effect - the batted ball is predetermined and they will slow the runner to fit into the fielder

I am not a fan of the SDS business model. I abhor it. They haven't tested a [censored] thing for years and just keep rolling it out year after year.
HAVING SAID THAT
For craps sake we are playing baseball. The 40k packs suck but it's not like you need every player in the pack. Who gives a darn. I have been waiting for something to buy, to fit to my team. I do not need every single player.
If you play competitive, good for you, you have a team that looks exactly as the team you are playing. BUXTON BOOST, etc. You guys are expletive.
Stop freaking whining. You sound like Me.

When making a lineup do test this: put all of your tall players together, short, etc.
For instance, group Elly, Judge, O’Neil Cruz together, then put your shrimps together say, Altuve Wong, types. Don’t stagger them.
The strike zone differential distracts yourself if you stagger them in the lineup. So if I know I have 3 tall sluggers in a row, it is easier on the eyes to have them in a bunch and know the strike zone for the players.

It plays the same as it did in 2020 or prior. It irritates me to no end that they don’t add more base hits to the game or anything as far as physics, no really new animation. The AI is dumb as [censored], any difficultly(offline) just throw fastball up and in fastball up and in, low offspeed and get an out. While I don’t mind the ease of that in a grind it’s just not baseball unless you play online.
They have to give high contact/low power guys power above their normal attributes to play within their physics.
All defenders play way too fast.
[censored] list goes on forever as far as gameplay. Instead of making studs like Carew Gwynn etc get on base it’s constant lineouts.
The gameplay is [censored], and needs a complete overhaul.
Content is fine. Never had a complaint with that, I’ve always said you can only play with 9 players so you don’t need 60 99 players.
Just make ones that aren’t 125/125 viable.
Pitcher confidence is dumb [censored] hell.
I could go indeed go on and on.
They don’t fix ANYTHING there have been no gameplay adjustments, for years. Patches only fix exploits and adding programs and uniforms that aren’t in collection. I seriously have no idea what they do all day.
They use the same baseball cards over and over, I myself could design baseball cards better than them with stats that made more sense. I’m not convinced they do much at SDS on a day to day basis. Must be like 2 people working there.
-
Laziness is the word. They’ve made 0 changes since forever. Just put a new shell on players.
They aren’t designing a game for gameplay they just print digital baseball cards for Topps.
-
We could all sit around and design baseball cards all day. All they do is slap new card images on the same players that play in an old [censored] engine. The stats don’t mean [censored] really, other than like power and contact, speed and reaction maybe on defense. You’re sold baseball cards that only have like 4 stats that mean anything.
It’s funny some people are like but yeah when you hit that threshold of 82 on power it really shows an effect. No it doesn’t. I feel the stats mean something per 20 points. Anything between is useless. So that’s dumb. May as well have stats of 1-5 on all players.
They make it seem like it means something but it absolutely doesn’t.
There’s 4 stats maybe that mean anything. The rest is just window dressing.

Walker played famously for the Montreal Expos which are defunct, and became the Washington Nationals in a move.
Same franchise.
