@ironeyes_cody_psn said in Looks like Nolan Ryan will be one of the 5th inning players:
My God! Nolan Ryan? I'm grinding until I grow callouses on my callouses. He's liable to be the key ingredient I'm missing to go completely WS in RS. Man..I'm dropping FIFA like a hot potato. This news is significant to me personally. If he's going to be a 99 that should really give me an advantage over all the other 99 batters..and 99 pitchers. 99 Ryan will shine like the bright sparkly Diamond his is.
Bro smoked meth before typing this stroke of a comment out.

Has been called up to the Bigs.
Future Star no more!

Here is how I did it.
Before I get any blowback “Yes, I work full time. Yes, I could have been first if I was still in school/could play round the clock. I sold him for 1M this morning. Key takeaway, —> Friday afternoon releases are your friend.”
Rough itemized breakdown:
- 35K yesterday and today of “in-game XP” - via conquest games/mission chasing. 70K total there.
- 25K for the conquest map. 95K total so far
- 50K for the 5th inning boss collection. 145K total so far.
- ~40K from missions and daily missions. 185 so far.
- The rest was my RTTS archetype grinding. 44K for the diamond spoke path. 32K for the gold spoke path. And the rest was maxing out a cap submariner halfway through diamond filthy painter (not using it for online, just got tired of hitting after the diamond spoke path).
All in all, ~10-12 hours of focused grinding in exchange for a free $600 net of the fee.
To reiterate; the walk method was not used. However, for those curious, SDS nerfed the walk method in general. I haven’t tested it yet but anecdotal remarks from friends say the max is 10K XP instead of 35 XP now.

Anyone know what the next events will/could be??
I wasn’t aware there would be more, was stressing to grind the event rewards before ThursdayThe 100 win rewards are the same for this event and the next two events. You don't need 100 wins by Thursday, you have almost a month to get them. The next event will just continue with your reward path. If you get 20 wins this event then next event you still ha e 20 wins and any wins will keep going up towards 100.
That is honestly huge. Got 40 on Saturday morning/midday and decided to stop to play the new TA and RS.
Definitely will add events back in to get to 70 to get the BIAH and Kitchen Sink packs.

Walker looks bad but Goose looks amazing.
Goose is the exact same card as the 95 LS collection reward with slightly (<10 points) better on some the /9's.
I actually just saw that when I looked at his 95. So I stand corrected. My bad. If I made World Series I would get David Justice or Vida Blue still.
I'd buy Justice now if you're looking at him. He is under 40K. Vida is a good one. If you reach it today, sell either as both will be 500K+ for a few days.

Interesting about Weens. I have played him before, and he is very hot-and-cold. Some innings he can't miss, and others he can't get a hit. Still almost unbeatable with his runs though. I'm curious if there is a zen involved. He streams though (and does really well on stream), so that seems less likely. He appears just like an introverted/awkward kid and one-track minded, so he might just not love streaming a lot.

Lol, there is definitely an upside-down U curve. At the right level of high/drunk/etc. your neurotransmitters are firing faster than usual, and you play better.
There is a very sharp downhill once you're past the point though.

Alright guys and gals, here I am, an Xbox player and World Series competitor each of the three seasons. I rubber-band in between 900-1000 at the moment, if that helps you understand my online skill level.
Out of a six or seven game rotation, I will load in as the home team in a World Series game, on legend, yada yada yada. And the visiting player's PCI is literally on Veteran or All-Star. Absolutely massive. In WS games, every team is stacked with Chipper, etc. and it makes it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to escape the first inning unscathed. The frustrating part is that it returns to legend in the bottom of the 1st.
For example, I just played this guy. Pitched Vida. Scores 2 in the Top of the 1st off bloop hits and slow rollers that would K's on legend or HOF. Has four (fake) hits with Acuna, Chipper, Trout, and Ortiz. Then, in the 2nd inning, his PCI returns to legend and has one hit the rest of the game.
Has anyone else had this issue? I have not been on the receiving end of it yet, however I would like to be one day.

I think the long-term effect of an XP cap will be reducing burnout.

The hitting timing windows continue to push me away from ranked @DA-KAK-WAGON_MLBTS

Sell now and buy back during the next BR program. Chapman and Musial will be in the rewind pack at 80 points which will tank both their values.
-
1 rare and 4 base. I absolutely will buy 5 more on Thursday even with the possibility that there will be plenty of packs in the TA grind.

The game caps at 120 fps on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. It caps at 60 for the older consoles.
MLB The Show 21 doesn't support 120hz(fps) on any console.
The maximum on any platform is 60hz(fps).
Interesting. I definitely meant hz, not fps. That was my mistake.
I play the Show at 120hz/60fps on the Series X on a monitor with a VRR. Previously played at 60hz/30fps on an Xbox One early this summer.

What the f**k. That is absolutely worth the time then. Do they still have it where if the PC conquers a base, it makes it impossible to fully clear one division? (i.e. if the Pirates conquer the Braves, you won't get to clear the NL East)

12-0 banner is my last item to collect besides Trout and Chipper. Want it badly but experience many of the same occurrences here. Went 10-0 and started my matchmaking in the 6500s the other day. Needless to say, the competition was quite high at the point.
-
Best pull all year was Corbin Burnes. I just sold Acuna from a BR run and am at ~280K stubs. Only need Trout to finish the LS. He is ~350K, so I am close. A good pull or two on these space packs or the 650K pack would clinch it.

Pulled Cole and sold for 200K.

Yes!!! This actually lost me a game recently. Dude scored 3 in the top of the first as the PCI was massive. I no-hit him the rest of the game on legend but lost 3-2.
Very frustrating.
