This game sucks. I’m tired of seeing the same exact teams online. Every team has the exact same 99 players and 95% of the cards are unusable. 99s foul everything off then hit automatic homers anywhere in the zone.

What’s it matter? This game is virtually unplayable unless you enjoy just a basic home run derby… pretty dumb if you ask me.

Hey SDS please tone the home runs down cause it’s unbelievably ridiculous. Your game is already $60 so I’m not going to spend $100+ on stubs to buy all 99 players cause that’s clearly what you want with this bs game.. 90% of the players are unusable and all I see in online play is teams with the exact same players.. is this really what the game has come to? Kinda boring when you face the exact same 99 players every game online..

90% of the pitches in the zone get hit for home runs.. no matter what. If it’s in the zone 90% of the time it’s going to be a home run. I was using 97 lee smith and people online are very early on 100+mph pitches and they’re still hitting home runs. Every pitch way out of the zone is fouled off until you’re forced to pitch in the zone and it’s an automatic home run given even if it’s in the corner and the person is late on it.

I remember in older versions of mlb the show you could use all sorts of cards like golds and silvers and have some degree of success and you had to actually think to build out a team. Now 90% of the cards are unusable and every team is full of 99 players already. I used to use the daily matchup boosted players to build competitive teams and now I don’t even care for it cause all those players are unusable cause all you’re facing is 99 players.

If you try and use a low diamond or gold pitcher it’s automatic home runs if any pitch is in the zone no matter what and that’s just ridiculous. It’s not like I’m just throwing the pitch down the middle.

I’ve been playing this game for years and am not a bad player but this years game is beyond ridiculous with the home run rate. Of course I’m hitting my share of home runs but all this game is home run or contact out no matter how you pitch.

Is the excuse really everybody’s eye is otherworldly?? I say absolutely not. The game has been tuned to allowing way too many home runs and for contact to be made so easily that pitching is completely irrelevant at this point.

This game blows. Every team online has babe Ruth, Derek jeter, ken Griffey jr, tatis jr, Sammy sosa and every other 99 you can imagine and the game just came out a few weeks ago. It’s a glorified home run derby because of this and feels like an arcade game

To get the massive 99s I got no chance. And have no desire too. I’m not a fan of this route with the sets being locked in. It’s, just like Fifa causing everyone to pretty much get the same team early doors.

Blows my mind how people are able to play against the cpu for ungodly amount of hours just to obtain cards or buy stubs to rip packs and buy theses 99s. I’ll get bored of playing the cpu after a couple games

I’m playing the cpu and play a event game and this clown already has Sammy sosa, chipper jones, ken Griffey jr and Derek jeter all 99s… then I think to myself why am I even wasting my time playing this game when all these losers with no lives and wanna spend money on Stubbs already have all 99s on their teams so they can have unfair advantages and feel good about something in their mediocre life for once… ya think I’m done with mlb the show forever.

If I have the same 99 pitchers as they do they’re not getting any hits either.. only reason they’re allowed hits is because they’re using all the best 99 players in the game while I’m using the free 97 pitcher.. it’s stupid. I’m either forced to spend a ton on stubs or play against the cpu for hours upon hours which is kind bumbling boring. You’d think it’d be rare to see teams online with 99 chipper jones, 99 Derek jeter, 99 babe Ruth, 99 ken Griffey jr, 99 tatis jr or whichever else 99 player but no.. they’re so common online that it’s even common at this point you’re seeing many teams with all these cards on one team! It’s so ridiculously dumb and this game just came out… 95% of the cards are unusable and unplayable online because these are the kind of teams you’re facing.. pitches way out of the zone are fouled off repeatedly until you’re forced to pitch in the zone and no matter where you place it these 99 players are automatic homers it’s ridiculous. But if I get a perfect perfect swing with a 97 player against a 99 pitcher it’s a lazy fly ball… games dumb. These 99 cards should be so rare and diamonds and gold should be usable online and inside edge should actually be a thing like in previous years. Now it’s all just pointless… SDS said here play against the cpu for mindless hours on end till you get these 99 cards. Screw that

Can SDS at least give those of us with IQs above 70 a Salary Cap mode to actually compete at something that involves an OUNCE of baseball STRATEGY?
Most of the reward cards are utterly useless. Some already have better versions (99's) available in the Marketplace.
Disappointing to see the DUMBED DOWN direction SDS has decided to take this mode.

I don't see any point in insulting every gamer who may like the current setup. Especially since Online Diamond Dynasty has never been a mode about "Baseball Strategy".

I'm not a fan of the Sets and Seasons myself but I don't fault those who enjoy it. If I wanted real baseball strategy then I would stick to Franchise mode or play a game like Out of The Park baseball where it is all strategy.

I don't think you understand, the OP is far above anything else, if he doesn't like it, no intelligent person would, he's probably weighed all the positives and negatives over tea in Cambridge and come to the hypothesis that the lower your intelligence is, the more you prefer the system.

I'm just a simple man who realizes that playing a team full of 99's Vs someone else with a team full of 99's isn't fun or interesting.

I'm smart enough to realize that anyone who thinks playing ALL 99's against other people with ALL 99's is boring, childish, and likely lacks any sense of creativity or strategic intelligence.

Sure...it's subjective, but that doesn't mean it isn't childish and unintelligent.

Humor is subjective too. It doesn't mean that morons who laugh at FART jokes and POTTY humor don't have the same IQ as 8 year olds who do the same. Don't have to take much of a "leap" to see the correlation. Same goes for this game.

Ok let me know when the scientific studies come out when you write your thesis on the subject. Don't worry, we are all self centered so it's easy to elevate ourselves and kick other people down, I get it.

Maybe try to EXPLAIN to me what is fun and interesting and strategic about a mode where you just load up a team of 26 overpowered players and play against someone who does the exact same thing?

So much so that it gets to the point where it becomes OBVIOUS what cards are clearly the best to use...that everyone uses the almost the SAME exact combination of players.

What is interesting about that, exactly?

Look...I'm not saying they have to remove that part of the game. But...why not have a mode in DD with a Cap or Limit or like BR (but 9 innings and with cards you own)?

It's clearly something people have an interest in...it's already IN THE GAME in Battle Royale!

But there is clearly a hole in the mode right now.

And it exists for those of us interested in playing something similar to BR...but not limited to 3 innings. And maybe without the randomness of a Draft and more of a personal choice.

Give us that mode...and give rewards for playing it. See who can win games without just loading up a team of 99's at every position, every starting pitching slot, and every spot in the bullpen.

Sorry...but the "strategy" involved in DD when it comes to playing Ranked Seasons Online is basically ZERO. That makes it simple and childish...shallow.

Why not add a mode that actually has some DEPTH and strategy to it? You don't think people who LOVE the game of baseball and all the strategy and analytics that come along with it, wouldn't enjoy building teams and playing a mode like that?

Totally agree. I haven’t played the show in a couple years but in the past I could build a very competitive team using inside edge. I could challenge any team online cause I was decent at the game. It was fun building my team every time I played online strategically. Now inside edge is pointless cause I can’t use anything lower then a 97 against these super stacked teams. It’s not as fun as before. I’d totally play a mode where it’s capped. Because frankly it’s just not fun having to face the 99 Japanese pitcher then 99 josh hader every single game… then having to pitch to the same exact 99 players every single game

Nah. I think the harder it is to get these 99 cards then better. Nothing should be a given and easy even though majority people I face online somehow already have all these 99s. I’ve tried this showdown luis Castillo and I have trouble passing the 3rd one. Idk how ppl complete these things. The first two are easy but after that I cant
