This confuses me. Two different Rivera cards. Lower rated is Core and can be used ALL YEAR. Higher rates is a Set 2 which becomes 'obsolete' in a few months.

I doubt there are many people who would waste their one wildcard spot on a reliever with cards like Babe Ruth, Chipper Jones, Griffey Jr, Mike Trout, Ohtani, etc.

Sure, he technically won't be irrelevant, but no one will be using him outside of modes where you can use any set.

That being said, I don't get the confusion from freezeoff. Of course the lower tier card would be core, and therefore usable all year. If they made every player's best card a core card, then why even bother introducing sets in the first place?

I'm interested in seeing if a TA 1 hitting captain will work in the WC spot. Gives you a little flexibility hopefully.

Anybody else seen an update? I went through everyone that I've used and haven't seen any adjustments to the TA 1 captains.

Nothing. It's happening to everyone. Servers are having an issue.

Started the Lefty Mini season today. Game one. I had Sandoval and the computer started Snell.

Game 2, both Sandoval and my Snell card are fatigued.

SMH.

Menu navigation and time communicating with servers is at an all time low for early launch. Things are super smooth and I haven't seen an Unhandled Server Exception yet.

First off, don't look at game logs of the top players to determine the mean results. Just as you would remove the bottom portion of players that are likely AFK 99% of the account playtime.

Top players always hit more HR. Been that way since online play was introduced when the product launched in 2012 (I think).

I've only played vs the CPU currently, but HR are down there for sure. Noticably so that it's refreshing. This isn't a problem for me. If I wanted an arcade game, I'd play Mario Sluggers.

My advice is to worry less about the results of others and focus on your enjoyment or disappointment of the game.

My opinion the game is playing extremely well except for a bit too many P/P warning track and deep fly outs. That should scale up a bit eventually.

PS5s are pretty much completely in stock, all versions, on Amazon and Walmart.com recently. No need to wait for alerts or anything. Just add to cart and buy. It's about time.

For real. On a side note, one of my biggest annoyances in these forums (and there are many) is when people keep referring to PS5 as "next gen". PS5 is current gen...people on PS4 are currently gaming in the past.

Just stopping by to say hello and check on a few people that are probably still banned from these forums for some God forsaken reason.

I plan on not spending much time here unless called upon or if something breaks that has a direct impact on my gameplay.

I was not happy with the direction of the boards last year due to [censored] poor moderation.

It's horribly unfortunate that SDS didn't give a hoot about the community of people that used to help each other while making jokes for levity.

Mass banning people over a Man Shot tweet that they made was the end for me. I'm too old to deal with nonsense and lack of accountability.

I'm always available for help if needed though. TBH, launch has gone smoothly, and I haven't received any Unhandled Server Exception yet.

Just seeing if this works. Nothing to see here. Move along.

I changed all my uniforms to Astros and made my home park Minute Maid.

Did the same thing w/ the Braves last year.

I do it all year actually, but the main difference is that I'll go into ranked from now until 23 with a geeked out Astros squad.

Make sure that you finish complete innings with pitchers. Outside of that I cannot say what the issue may be.

As somebody that used to visit these forums daily for the past 6+ years, this game cycle has been the worst in history in terms of moderation, SDS overall presence and consistency in what little moderation has taken place.

I don't know what purpose another vehicle for game discussion would provide. I do know that since this is their "official" forum, they need to do a lot better job with it than the last two seasons, but this one in particular.

Having been involved in online gaming for over 25+ years, a game company has community members that can drive discussion and keep a player base engaged as well as "moderated" without having to pay or provide perks to those community members.

Communities are just a tool to have discussions that are helpful, stimulating and also entertaining. All building a true sense of community where, when you run into somebody in game that you recognize from a forum, you get excited about it.

That is when you know that your official forum, or your community is a success.

It's a collection reward, not an entitlement reward.

It's meant to reward players that have collected all year, not a reward for currently playing the game without collecting the cards.

It doesn't require 20+ million stubs unless you haven't been collecting.

It's a great card, but a great card doesn't make you a great player.

It also isn't a reward for people who have spent RL cash vs people that haven't.

Sorry to be the one that pissed in your Cheerios this morning, but what's the point of criticizing something not meant to be obtainable for everyone?

Yes. Each of the collections (starting with the Extreme ones) carry over to each main program. They may only be collected one time in total. Choose your path wisely...

Only issue I have with this statement is that during the last program the ones that were able to be carried over and were actually carried over stated that they could be carried over in the text. Pena's text doesn't have that part included. It just says that you can only collect once.

Right. You can only collect once. If you don't do it this program, you can do it next program.

Post any proof? Just go click on there game history and look at there games, I'm not here to investigate for them. I know all of them are not working on the game for next year, that's not how it works. They aren't all game developers

It would be very simple for EA Sports SDS to investigate this. Not every employee is working for the development team as well. I have come across many teams that are 25-50 games over .500 yet all of their hitters are hitting about .199 with no homers, but tons of steals, and all of their pitchers have extremely high ERAs.

The fact that they not only have not fixed the known glitches that allow for cheaters to exploit wins even for bad players, but now the game returning back to the super unrealistic game play of Triple Play Baseball and their arrogant mouthpiece states "working as intended" is all you need to know.

I didn't buy 22 and have no intention of buying 23 as I still have stuff to grind out on 20 and 21, and since I am a pretty weak hitter it will take me a lot longer than most, but I see a lot of threads where people are stating that people simply buy their wins for the programs.

I get it, it's their choice, but it sounds a lot like the "loot box" issues that plagued the Battlefront in the past, or like any of the phone apps that are basically free to play, but really pay to win.

Did it ever occur to you those might be developers and/or Real players playing event b4 it goes live to everyone else as a employee/star benefit? People are so close minded on this forum. First instinct is to just scream fowl over everything.

Data is there. They either don't know how to get it, or they ignore it purposely.

It's not a perk. LOL. Perks would be dropping cards in inventory like they do for "The Real Player X", which is easier for them to do.

I was paid for 15 years to manage data for a financial services company. A visit to SDS and 3 hours with a dev kit and I could write queries to identify dashboards, event exploits etc. I'm oversimplifying it, but it's completely viable.

TBH, it's just not that important to them. Can't blame them. They make a great product there, but focus efforts on things that drive the almighty dollar. It's what game companies do. Once again, I don't blame them.

I only mention it as a possibility. B/c a few times last year or year b4 i was allowed in to the lobby hour b4 it went live and it put me in matchmaking and i saw leaderboard scores at 10-0 & 9-1. So only reason i mentioned it.

I understand it's viable for an employee to "sneak in early" into an event prior years when events weren't running 24/7.

The prod environment today though will flip the switch concurrently server side, so it wouldn't be possible.

Most apps for advanced Chrome OS will have advanced notification settings. Have you seen pop ups that say "Receive notifications while using this app vs Notifications all the time, Block Notifications"

Unfortunately, there's probably something stuck in a cache after one of the updates and no matter what you do, it's still in there.

Reinstalling an app won't guarantee that the associated data cache is removed. When you reinstall the backend data remains in the root directory and has notifications still off.

Just my theory here.

I'm on Pixel 5 and always get my notifications. When I upgraded 2 years ago from my Pixel 2 XL, I never had an issue either.
