This thread is intended for those of you who are new to Diamond Dynasty! Maybe after watching the the Diamond Dynasty stream on Saturday you were a little overwhelmed with all the information provided?

Well I am going to list a strategy for Players who are new to Diamond Dynasty in hopes of making your experience as seamless as possible while also providing a way to start creating your Dream Team from day 1!

Now real quick as the Devs have mentioned Diamond Dynasty is a team of your favorite players that you get to create/build from scratch! Below I am going to mention Tips,Tricks and strategies that will give you an opportunity to get your team going down the right path!

Now these tips,tricks and strategies are based off of information received from the streams up to this point from the Developers and some are based off of my experience with the mode.

#1 -First and foremost DO NOT feel like you have to jump into Ranked seasons right away! (Explanation to follow)

#2- Dynamic Difficulty this one is huge for new users and new Diamond Dynasty players! Dynamic Difficulty can be thought of as an "Evaluation" of what your skill level is each time this is used. Why is this important? Well when you start doing moments or challenges, i think it is great to know what level you are comfortable playing at. Which in turn will allow you to get the maximum amount of rewards at that time until you get better or more familiar with the game!

Where is Dynamic Difficulty setting available? The place i am going to talk about is March to October or also referred to as M2O! Now you are thinking "he is talking about M2O?" What does this have to do with Diamond Dynasty? It has alot to do with several aspects of how to get content for Diamond Dynasty! By playing M2O regardless what team you choose you will be earning Team affinity points, XP. and Program Points! All of these methods are affiliated with Diamond Dynasty one way or another.

M20 on average takes about 18 hours to get to the end of season. With the new reward gates implemented this year, if you complete a full season with a team your chances of earning 30 to 50 team affinity points in one season is greatly increased due to the Dynamic Difficulty setting.

But wait M2O is repeatable! So for the sake of conversation i will use the Nationals as an example. Lets say you play a season with the Nats and you didn't make it all the way to the post season Well based off of your performance there is still a good chance to earn 20-25 Team affinity points! That is huge! Why? Because at 25 team affinity points for every Team in MLB the show is a gold Prospect card ready to be implemented into your Diamond Dynasty Squad!

Now comes the repeatable part of the the mode! You set your difficulty to Dynamic again it is going to "Evaluate" your progression as the season goes. It's your second time around, chances of you knowing what to expect and perhaps finish at a higher difficulty reward increases simply because you chose "Dynamic Difficulty". So lets say you finish with 25 points again for the season! Well guess what 25 + 25 = Face of the Franchise Diamond player to put on your squad. But that isn't all because in between the player rewards you will also notice 4 packs that contain 4 players for that team specific and one item in each pack. So by reaching level 50 in team affinity per team you will have aquired approximately 18 players for that specific team.

With all that gameplay in lets say 2 days worth of playing maybe 3 not only did you get approx get 18 players for that team you have earned a nice little chunk of XP and program points just for playing 1 mode which also unlocks amazing rewards to place on your team!!

#3- Is a real quick and easy tip! Every year for the past 4 or 5 years maybe longer the developers have an area where you can earn quick XP just by simply collecting simple things like for instance 5 left fielders for 300 xp! I recommend doing each one of these, and before you know it you have unlocked the first pack in the XP program.

#4- 1rst time Free Entries to battle Royal and Showdown! Use this as an opportunity to get your feet wet in the modes. Battle Royal entry you will get a MLB 20 pack at minimum as a reward. And you never know that free entry could be the 12-0 run that leads to whole other slew of rewards. But keep expectations of yourself low so not to get disappointed b/c even the best players in the world do not go 12-0 every time!

Showdown Entry it has been said by the developers that the first one is going to be easy so take the opportunity to get the most out of each level and discover perks and use it to your advantage. Again a chance for XP, stubs, program points, and a player reward at the end that again can be placed on your Diamond Dynasty Squad.

Ok so now you have played for a few days you have unlocked some cards for your squad you have a decent playable team!

#5- Conquest- This mode is really good mode for various reasons but mostly people like it for the hidden rewards. Conquest is a mode where you play 3 inning games and they are turn based. A great strategy to use here is build your team with players that include the team or teams you are working towards to unlock in Team Affinity.

But another strategy that you can use in Conquest especially with the changes this year with pitcher energy is approach it like Battle Royal and maybe set your lineup with the same structure as the Battle Royal lineup structure.

So this was a little longer than i expected it it to be so my apologies. But if you rinse and repeat these tips and strategies in 2 weeks time you possibly could have a team built and ready to go dive into Ranked seasons and see how you fair! But again i cannot stress enough how important Dynamic Difficulty can help you become a better player just by simply setting it it as your Difficulty setting and getting evaluated every time you play M2O.

I will check it out as well, but first time i see you disrespect an opponent i won't ever watch again. I've watched to many people berate opponents and it's a turn off is all i'm saying.

New players are looking for help not discouragement. He had a well thought out post obviously wanting advice. I would love to see what it looked like when you first started?

First of all welcome to the Community !!!

I am so excited to see new players that will be able to knock some of the arrogant players that are on the top leaderboards off of there high horse pedastals! With that being said most of players on leaderboards are good people and legit in there gameplay and will go out of there way to help you.

I've been playing since 2010ish, and thought i would give some tips and tricks suggestions along the way about things that maybe people don't talk about much. Or if you have a specific question about game or what to expect feel free to ask!!!

If i don't know the answer there are plenty of seasoned players that can!! U might even get a Developer to respond b/c that is one of the things about this Franchise they take pride in making your experience better and are very active with community. When not busy leaking info or playing with dolls or even a peticular dev who claims Phillies will win every year!

So one tip i will share is setup your gamestyle the way it makes you comfortable! What i mean is if you prefer directional hitting over zone hitting then by all means use directional hitting. Contrary to what some believe there is absolutely no inferior style!!!

So like i said questions or concerns ask away and again welcome to the Community!!!

What can i expect from developer streams prior to launch?

A plethora of information!! There will be you tubers and twitch streamers breaking down the videos afterwards so be sure to check them out! Majority of the time the developers will smack you with something so exciting that maybe u missed something else in regards that could be vital! No problem just rewatch stream over and over! Developers are very good at making that info available to rewatch immediately!!

Shout out to the folks we don't see in the streams. Folks like;

Art Team, sound guys, video production, support really feel like all the things that make this game great!

So please say something nice to these folks and make their day and let them know at the end of the day we really do appreciate the effort these folks put into the game. I missed alot of deptartment so know that i mean every1.

Lets get back to a community where it is positive from everyone and work together as community to make this the best sports game on the market.

Why do you have to call them names based off of what system they use? I hope every xbox player you match up against wipes the floor up with you!

This is a shame and alot of reason i only watch a few streamers! But like everyone said play the game for just the sheer joy. Don't let them get to ya. The streamer is the worst person in this scenario and i hope karma bites them in the @ss!! Hang in there!!!

First thing i am gonna do is tell my kids a week ahead of time that it is, Mandatory National Study for School Weekend, then i'm locking the door. They ask for food tell them to go study home economics!

What did they do to fix it? I don't really care. It's working. They certainly didn't sit around waiting to see if things got better on it's own.

Yes, I shouldn't be congratulating them for something that should have been working all along. There's something to be said though for the fact that they did work out some of these big issues with connectivity. Most of the grunt work being done by SDS folks that have never posted on the boards before.

Anyways, it's refreshing to not comb through 12 posts of people saying the same thing, whining, complaining, raging etc.

Your whining about people whining now that's refreshing.They better get it right this time with the servers because a lot of people payed good money for this game.

Actually he isn't complaining at all. He is merely pointing out the fact it's refreshing not seeing 20 threads on same subject b/c 1 0f 2 reasons, They were to dumb to use search feature or they were 12 years old and wanted "Their Thread" to be the most popular. I will put money on latter but would not be surprised by the intelligence either though.

Either way perhaps veterans should post 100 threads talking about how servers are working everyday and let the jackwagons comb through to find the thread that talks about "what is your best card so far?" threads.

I've pulled trout once in 12 years i've been playing, although trout hasn't been around that long just saying you aint the only one trust me.

I love RTTS. Every year I would create 3-4 players. All with different looks, names, personalities etc. I always did a power guy, a contact speedster, a starting pitcher, and sometimes a closer. I enjoyed developing them through their career and establishing them as the top in their position. But you have taken all this away. I can’t even make one with a different name or change how they look or anything due to your push towards making everyone play DD. As a RTTS player I still bought stubbs because I wanted the gear for them and like I said, I get addicted to opening packs. There was no need for this push. And speaking of pushing, I wish the game would stop asking me if I wanted to be a two position player. Leave me alone and let me play the game I want to play. Sorry, little rant there. I just get frustrated when I ask myself, Is anyone at SDS a true gamer or have they all forgotten what it’s like to be a gamer and enjoy playing, creating your character, and developing them? You have taken all this away from me and made it all very generic and because of that I do not think I can continue. I will just go back a few years and play that one over and over again.

I really doubt this will fall upon any ears or if any would agree with me, but it’s my 2 cents.

In addition, just some side notes..
You need a way to be able to call your agent instead of waiting for his yearly one call.

I do not understand this double stat thing and see no purpose for it. Why are they 30-50 but then on my card everything goes to 100 and there seems to be no correlation. 40 speed might be 93 speed but 40 contact might only be 75 contact. It makes zero sense.

Check swings, annoying. I mash the button and get nothing but a check swing, usually only on curveballs and change ups. Add in feature to disable them. I like the realism but when it’s not working its needs to be able to be shut off.

Since it's working properly offline, I imagine it's not that hard. But I will say I'm not a dev so I really don't know. They could inform us on the matter though?

I play on ps4 and no lag at all, i always choose a mlb stadium. Been a lame excuse for years. So no i will not stop.

The Chase Pack is a huge plus for players that work the market buying and selling. When Chase 2 hit the market crashed but bounced back decently. Chase 3 I am literally buying everything that drops and reselling at bigger investment than I have done before.

Nothing seems as good as a prediction as chase pack drops because There are so many youtubers predicting and then people lose stubs. For example. so many youtubers said buy the gold monthly topps now and they actually went down when the entire April Program dropped.

Not sure why some many folks trust you tubers. Just use common sense. Every single player could earn those Topps now relatively easy. Very little market for cards that every person can so easily earn.

For real! I don't watch streamers anymore. For 1 the stupid looking thumbnails, poor editing and mostly because so many of them act so [censored] when they play competitively come across as poor sportsmanship. jmho I grew up differently where you get yer @ss whooped by the school bus driver if you needed it.

This is why i havent touched online this year. I'll continue the offline grind while other people waste their time earning (or trying to earn) cards that they're gonna sell anyway and i'll just buy them when the price drops.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. So you buy cards to beat the CPU on rookie? That doesn't sound like much fun. I need a competitive grind so online isn't that bad to me.

What "competitive grind"? Half of the people in here [censored] and moan about everything related to online. Freeze offs, bunt cheese, R2 spammers, lag, opponents [censored] poor PCI placement and the fact that they get homeruns on horrible swings while all your* perfect/perfect are lineouts at the track, superman dives, progress/innings not counting for programs....and the list goes on and on.

What's "competitive" about crying over every aspect of online? I guess sitting in a freeze off for 2 days would be considered "competitive" but I'll play my game, thanks lol

You are talking about the 1 percent of the community that actually knows this forum exists. On top of that you will never hear about the people that actually enjoy this game because they have no reason to complain.

Also, no where in your ridiculous rant did you answer my question. Why would you spend stubs on Diamonds to paly the computer on rookie? Ahh, I get it now its because you are considered food to your opponents online. You would prefer to have a false sense of accomplishment by beating the Orioles on the lowest difficulty possible instead of testing your skills against a capable opponent. I fully understand now.

And this is why he, and many others, stay away from online play. People like you that think the ONLY way to play this game is to play other people online so they can float about a fictitious batting average and ERA.

You like playing against other players. He, and others, like playing against the CPU.

All I was trying to do is understand why one would put time and energy into such a brain numbing grind. What's the purpose? You would have a good enough team to compete with the CPU on day one of release. Maybe there is something I'm missing by playing online exclusively.

There is alot you are missing actually! Your assumption is what sticks out the most! You assume everyone play Orioles for one, then you assume everyone who plays offline plays on rookie.

When you set your settings to Competitive the CPU plays completely different than years past. AI has been improved upon in numerous ways. Making the experience the funnest it's been in at least 5-7 years.

So the point is people want to play competitive baseball without the BS that plagues Online h2h gameplay. SDS has accomplished that and I am very thankfull for one.

"Online h2h Only" type players are a majority of the reason the game never gets better. Due to the fact b/c they can never agree as to what makes mode better. Instead every year people find a new way to cheese, then it gets showed on a stream or you tube video and next thing you know everyones trying to do it.

I think it's a very pompous attitude to make a statement in the manor in which you did that suggested: "everyone who plays offline basically sucks at the game and has no say." That is essentially what you are saying.

It's all about getting paired with someone of your skill level (i.e rookie with rookie or veteran with veteran). If someone from SDS would like to reply to this they'll say the same thing. I think you are confusing opponent skill level (human) versus technology. You can own a PS5 and suck because maybe your stick skills are terrible. You still have the advantage of a more advanced tech with the PS5. You just might not put it to good use. No one plays in MLB stadiums because the FPS is terrible. With a PS5 you can. So little Johnnie with his 1st generation ps4 is gonna sit thru 9 innings of crappy frame rate loss while the PS5 owner has a smooth game. This has nothing to do with internet lag either BTW its just a superior machine that can process information faster.

This is my exact fear. So if this is true, then PS5 will have a clear advantage!!!

Not to mention this stupid create-a-stadium everyone is so pumped about (can we focus on getting good gameplay before we ask for goofy aesthetic [censored]?!).

The CAS will probably cause even greater frame rate loss with all the way combos ppl will create.

So they shouldn't have anything like stadium creator until gameplay is 100% perfect? It's not an either or. Just because a game adds content it doesn't always mean it comes at the expense of gameplay. Stadium creator will have 0 effect on the gameplay.

But time and resources were used to implement that when it could be re-directed to fine-tuning gameplay.

You don't know that. They aren't some indie company, they can have a team working on gameplay and a team working on stadium creator. For all we know 1 person did stadium creator over his lunch break, it isn't a really difficult feature to implement as it's been around forever. There will always be things people want to see improved with gameplay every year, that doesn't mean the game shouldn't ever add anything else new. Otherwise we're just playing the same game y2y with updates rosters.

Wow! How do you know that person hasn't played on ps for last 10 years exclusively just for MLB? But now that it is on xbox he decided to buy xbox?
