Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will definitely try setting the difficulty at Dynamic and see if that helps me settle into a sweet spot. If that doesn't work, I'll keep grinding it out on All-Star and try to improve. The game is just so much fun. I'm winning a realistic number of games, and hitting my fair share of home runs, but the .220 team average and double-digit strikeouts per game make for horrible stats.
For the record, I'm not at retirement age yet, but I'm closer to 60 than I am to 40.
