I tried to give the update that fixed the PCI range a couple weeks to let me get used to the new sensitivity and range.

However, this update quite possibly has broken the game entirely. While the game was in a tough spot when the video dropped about those low corners, it was still a relatively difficult spot to hit on the regular. Now, the PCI is so capable and the RNG is so messed up that playing on HoF feels like All Star pre-update. Now more than ever, people are able to foul off literally any pitch, despite how unrealistic, consistently hit bombs on terrible PCI placement/timing, and get negative exit velocities on good PCI placement.

I've been playing since the beta, have close to 300 ranked GP mostly on HoF and Legend, and the game feels like it's in its worst spot all year. Ranked wasn't great before this update, but now it's just an outlier vs. outlier dice roll on Shippett. All it comes down to is who gets the favorable RNG swing with runners on base. Realism used to be something that was kind of there, but now it's just completely lost. Pitchers can't sit 100-102 for 150 pitches, 100 mph screamers in the gap aren't just routinely caught, and curveballs that bounce aren't fouled off with very early/late timing. 21 isn't a baseball sim anymore, it's an arcade marketed as a sim. That's pretty frustrating for someone who got into the Show a couple years ago because it felt realistic.

I get it if the gameplay guys are more focused on 22 now. They whiffed on the last major update. You need to own that and figure out a way to fix it for 22, or this game is going to wither away the second someone else can publish a decent title.

We need something new and fresh. The content has been great in quantity so far, but quality..........not so much lately. Give us some heat!!

I want to preface this by saying this won't make RS realistic, but it will make it FAIR, which is what I think everyone is begging for at the moment. This is also only in the sphere of hitting. Fielding requires more than a few absolutes in my opinion, coming from a guy who managed to give up 5 unearned runs on 2 outfield errors last night in a 5-2 loss, but I digress.

1. Remove check swinging entirely.
   I know it's a feature of baseball, and it's awesome that the game attempts to reflect realism through this method. However, it's out of control. Dudes are able to hold up on checks 4, 5 , 6 pitches in a row. If it can't be super realistic and balanced, don't have it in my opinion.

2. Any swing at a pitch out of the zone is a miss.
   BuT mY SkIlL gAp. Trust me dawg, nobody is catching up to 102 elevated in real life. It's just not happening. The same is true of the likes of a nasty 12-6 hook from Roy Oswald or Michael Kopech's slider. No. Shot. Removing this may result in more strikeouts, but it will also make people be rewarded for being patient.

3. Any timing that is NOT perfect/good/just early or just late results in an out 95%+ of the time.
   If you want to make timing a part of this game, actually reward it. Giving up Early/Okay home runs is frustrating, and frankly it makes you feel icky when you are the one rewarded.

I don't like this argument. At this time last year we had way more. What we're experiencing is a company trying to draw the game out as long as possible and milk the cycle without giving us some of the key things we bought the dang game for (Legends).

SDS: This is literally the best LF name we have available, he hit the second-most (but most without steroids) homers of all times. We will give him diamond D off the rip, and ridiculous hitting stats. Also, a #1 draft pick card that is usable if you aren't able to get Donaldson and can't get that Angels guy to get Chipper. Finally, if you are more of an old head, here is one of the most well-liked legends in recent history.

At this time last year the season had just started and we hadn’t had 4 months of Topps now or monthly awards cards.

I guess the argument is TA3 should have been legends instead of this years all-stars but We still have 4 more innings after the current.

We did have Monthly Awards cards (Correa, etc.). As for Topps Now, there's maybe one or two that should be in anyone's lineup past niche uses. At this time last year, the bosses were Maddux, Rollins, Musial and the Old Timers Program was already out. This year is clearly being milked beyond belief, and simply saying "well it's better than EA and Madden" is holding SDS to an alarmingly low standard.

Agreed. over 300 GP in ranked as well. I only played this weekend to grind out stats in the BR Program. I also made WS last week. But once I made WS and completed the BR Program, I felt no reason to play the game. It's not fun. Hitting is completely ridiculous. Pitchers can go WAY too deep into game with no impact. Timing windows are abhorrent and gameplay is different game-to-game based on internet connection.

This year's game is at 2018's level. The only reason it's slightly better is because of content. But you can't enjoy the content with all the BS happening right now.

I think a big part of my issue is that the offspeed timing windows vary. Like for example it feels like the ideal slider timing window is unnaturally early.

Custom League will be in the game. It's tied to DD and they dedicated resources to build it.

For god's sake, they added custom stadiums...

THE DEV WHO CREATED “ CUSTOM LEAGUES “ is a ONLINE FRANCHISE GUY ( that’s a FACT ) so what makes you think DIAMOND DYNASTY has the car keys on this mode? I know why you keep saying it over and over with utter rebuttal so we’ll leave that alone but you need to go find another topic/thread to CHOMP on because it’s clear you don’t have a dam clue!! CUSTOM LEAGUES had its on Stream scheduled last year which included the addition of DD teams being available for the mode! Show me where DD is the opening act!!! I’ll wait!!

CUSTOM LEAGUES took some heat in the community last year so for people ( including myself ) to believe that it’s not returning is actually a plausible shortcoming ENSTEIN!! Do you think SONY SANDIEGO would want to have all these issues when in the game first introduction on XBOX??? No!! They’ll do everything they can to coverup the mess that continues to pile up with every installment!! That would be the main reason why OFM wouldn’t make the cut while you have all these “ GENIUSES “ on this forum bringing up those 2017 stats like that’s the reason! NO!!

You don’t know what you are talking about guy. When they didn’t bring back online franchise they for one — let it be known and 2. Gave the reason that the mode was taking up a ridiculous amount of space on the server.

Coming from some guy who sounds like he never touched the mode which only confirms he or she is DD dumpling! OMG!! Like what basis do have about any server mismanagement’s when the DEVELOPERS said it out there mouths that it was CODE that was slowing the mode down and NOT OTHER MODES!! Yes, I’m talking about you and yes you know for a fact you don’t know what you’re talking about!! Kick rocks!

I want to believe there's a coherent argument somewhere in here, but for the life of me I cannot find it.

I believe in keeping advice to the question asked, so I'll answer:

If you can handle Piazza's swing, then go with him. If you can't, then Perez is a bit safer imo.

WITH THAT BEING SAID: Adley can be acquired free via TA, and would be my personal recommendation over both of them.

He's in MVP form this year, I'm down with giving it a pass.

I agree with the second point a lot. No player will ever catch up to a pitch 102 at their neck it’s not possible even if u sit fastball. A player also won’t be able to hit a 72 mph curveball after seeing 102 at the neck. In the mlb the only way to not strike out on either of those pitches is take them. Obviously you can get hits on pitches out of the zone, but they should be weak hits not perfect perfect.

This is more of what I'm trying to say. I might not have done a great job of it in the OP, but this is the line of thought I was shooting for.
