Man, SDS has took it in the shorts with this years edition with a lot of things, and deservedly so, but gotta give credit where credit is due. The Derek Jeter Storylines are just First Class. From the great moments, the interviews, the rewards, just a fabulous job all the way around. I wish there were more.

Lots of things about MLB the Show 24 that I would change for sure, but like Derek Jeter says at the end......as far as his career (and these Storylines) I would not change a thing.

Completely ridiculous that the Live Content Team shut out offline player completely from this program! I mean, make the programs harder, add a collection, do something other than making the content sellable.

I've been avid offline show player since 2015, and it feels like they just dont care about ANY of the offline stuff anymore.

This feels like the dumb egg hunt program all over again, except worse, beucase we cant even get past Phase 1!

Be better SDS and Live Content Team.

Been working for the past few days on my annual Sewell-Thomas Stadium at the University of Alabama and this year's is completed.

The final version can be found by searching my user (ebbets1957) and the stadium name is "Sewell Thomas Stadium 2"

This years U. of Alabama stadium has a ton of detail, including the nickname "The Joe" on the stadium above the crowd in Neon, Coleman Coliseum and Bryant-Denny Stadium in the backdrop. The Brick facade, the Quad with the Denny Chimes, the 2nd Avenue Overpass in the back ground, scoreboard with the flags, Bear Bryant Museum, the student section in RF, the Alabama HOF plaques, and a cool display on the right of the OF that displays "ROLL TIDE:" in Rock. There are many other small details as well.

The stadium will work online and dimenstions are same as Costco Field with elevation of 5279 feet. So Balls will be flying out of the park in Tuscaloosa!

@CDNMoneyMaker93 I was just thinking this same thing the other day. The Show 18, filled with its Immortals and having to collect countless bobbleheads and hats.......and I still liked it better than this years version.

Kinda funny. I think all they really need to do to solves a lot of the issues is go back to the innings programs and throw "seasons" in the trash. Its universally hated and I still cant believe they brought it back this year.

There is nothing worse then griding for months to get 3 cards (if your even lucky enough to do that) then you only able to use them for a few days because the expire, and you have to grind another 2 weeks or month just to get another Wild Card to use 1 of them

I choose not to pay for PS+ to play the only game I play online, because

1. Online play has been broken for years
2. The are many Toxic Players online
3. Cheating and Dashboarding
4. Constant Pausing.
5. Glitched players
6. Little attempts to fix the bugs and issues
7. Horrible Servers
8. Its generally not fun

So, I guess if I had known that offline players would be required to play online as well to complete programs when buying the game, maybe i'd feel differently. But lets be honest. This game has been going down the tubes since MLBtheShow 23 (the last decent games), and I've always given SDS and the LC team the benefit of the doubt. After this kick in the teeth, no more.

Blame the bots for this one. SDS seems like they certainly trying to fix this, but its not easy (speaking from experience). I'm tellin ya, the only real way to stop this would be to disable the online marketplace until they can find a permanent solution to the bots, without trouble shooting with a game thats been in General release for over 4 months now.

SInce I am on my soap box.....Been playing the The Show since 2016. This team really needs to go back to the start here from a dev standpoint. Like literally go back to The Show 21 (the last good game in my opinion) and start over. Dump the Nintendo switch integration (i think a big part of their issues), and bring in some more voices (Online and Offline) who can help direct how this game should really be developed.

This game could be so much better online and offline, but every year, seems like they just keep doing bolt on's, which end up breaking more and more.

Also, Live Content.....infrequent attribute updates, cut and paste programs year after year (except this past week when they completely alienated half of their customer base), killing investing with purchase limits, timed programs that force you to play modes you have no interest in.. Its been so bad. And dont even get me started on franchise mode, which has been a complete disaster since 2021 when they stopped Year over Year saves, dumped sounds of the shows, ruined playing RTTS when they disallowed using the created player anywhere in DD (I get not using them online I guess, but offline too?).

THe only really great additions in my opinion have been 1) The Parallel system, 2) the boost system implement this yea (which could be made to be so much better) and 3) The Negro Leagues addition (this too, which incredible, could be made SO much better but introducing a Team Affinity and more longer term usuable cards from the initial launch of the game). And for goodness sakes, why cant we make Live Series cards relevant for the entire MLB season, with higher escalting ratings that can compete with flashback and legends and consider the idea of the very best LS Cards ultimatly "morphing" into the Finest Cards, which would even make the more valuable.

If the franchise is going to survive long term, the team at SDS need to go back to the drawboard, bring on some trusted community voices to help lead the future direction of the franchise. Its either that, or MLB should allow coemption back into the Baseball Game Market, really forcing a higher level of innovation by all.

Just wow! Not sure anyone except Dolenz would have picked Walker to win it, but it was EPIC! I had Schwarber on most of my accounts...oh well! Congrats Jordan and Cards fans! enjoy that 200K card!!!! LOL!

No ....its broken on PS5 as well.

So I completed the entire Live Collection in 2 hours on a sub account from nothing to all after the last flash sale, all but minus 2 cards, the Angels guy and Giants Kazmir.. With 2500+ order on Kazmir and over 3000 for the Angels guy, it literally took only about a day and a half for both order to complete for 2500 stubs. Super fast for that many orders.....just put in you buy orders....it wont take too long.

Finally sit down to play for the first time all day after a great day of baseball.......and BOOM! Feels like April.May all over again!

100% HUGE WIN! Combine this with the Parallel's and you have potentially the greatest MLB the show game ever for Offline gamers!

All I’m saying is that he made a good point on paralleling cards in 2023 that you disagreed with in a snarky way just because you have tons of P5 players. I was being a smarta— not a tough guy and I also downloaded his gorgeous stadium yesterday long before I was snarky.

Well, I didnt say I spent months building it, it was a few days. I also do it to keep myself interested in the game. BTW I'm glad you liked it.

I was just stating my own beliefs about the game because I know SDS monitors these forums and I would like my opinion known.

Just because you've only seen my posts twice, doesnt mean I dont get to have my own opinion.

My biggest issue with this past season was 99's from the start and especially multiple 99's of the same players. With the Power Creep back, that should not be an issue. If you are still using 88-91's after 12 weeks, i'd be surprised and if you do grab a few of the available 99's through collections, you'll still be able to slide 4 of them into the WC slots. I think they've made a huge improvement on the disaster that was the Show 23, and there would be no way i'd want to keep playing it for another year......onto to 24!

I miss it a lot. Completely got me away from RTTS when they removed it. I wish they would allow the created player to be used in Offline play and be able to PXP that player up as well. Just dont allow it to be used in competitive online play. Would make everyone happy.

10-4. I've always advocated that playing online should entitle you to more rewards, I just think this took it too far.

Thanks! MLB the Show is the only game I play and I only play offline DD and really missed out on the Stadium Creator last year. Between that and the new changes they've made to MTO, getting very excited about MLBtheShow22 now and figured it was time to take the plunge! Under 300 bucks now, so why not!

He is worth it to get Mookie and whomever ends up being the final collection. Shohei wouldn't be top 5 as a pitcher since he is not the meta, but he is still really good, it his bat and speed in the lineup that makes him amazing.....His speed and power is just crazy from a pitcher....that alone I think made him worth it....plus he can PH and PR when not starting
