Still the best football game ever made. As bad as 2K has gotten over the years, their early sports games were some of the best ever made. They had Suzy Kolber doing sideline reporting, Berman and the halftime shows, etc. All the stuff that made those games great was abandoned once EA got exclusive rights. Now they expect people to blow loads when they add a 3 second flyover at the start of a game.

I may be misremembering, wasnt there a way to bypass the grind and max players in a few days? Didnt SDS implement the xp cap after a few weeks?

Looking at the 2026 Team Mexico roster, at least 16 of them are in MLB

I remember when Hodges was announced as a collection reward, a good chunk of the community [censored] on that card because it wasnt max power.

If you're trying to play online, none of them. Most of the old servers are shut down or they're about to be.

1. Presentation
   There is no reason that the cutscenes between innings, batter walkups, and the game introduction should take so long. If you have an opponent that refuses to skip these things, it is so annoying and can add about 5-10 minutes to overall game time. The game intro should end after the stat screen, and inning cutscenes and hitter walkups should take more than 5 seconds. Also, make it so one person can skip it, not requiring both people to skip.
2. Replays
   I genuinely have no idea why these are still in online play. They slow the game down, theyre toxic, and serve absolutely no purpose. Just get rid of them.
3. Pitch Clock
   Reduce the pitch clock to 10 seconds in online play, this would speed the game up so much against slow pitchers. Also make it so that after multiple pitch clock violations, the game is called due to griefing.
   These changes would work and would speed up games just as much as pitching from the stretch only, except these increase the quality of play, while stretch only decreases it

Reducing the pitch clock to 10 seconds isnt gonna speed up Satchel Paiges windup.

Not being able to use a CAP in a casual game, where stats dont matter, is whats gonna cause you to quit the game for good? Seriously?

It wasnt the design of Kaiju cards that people didnt like. It was friggin Mothra flying around in the outfield during a mini seasons game.

Because a lot of players are asking for its return. From 2014-2017 franchise players were paying a cheaper dollar to have that feature. Now we’re paying a higher dollar to not have that feature. Doesn’t make much sense to me for what franchise players are getting out of it. Looks like DD has been getting its moneys worth.

What's a lot? I've seen dozens ask for it, concede that it could possibly be in the hundreds of those wanting it's return, but the game sells over a million copies each year, hundreds isn't a lot compared to a million.

Dude seems to think that if they brought it back, most of the DD players would totally bail on DD to play online franchise. Apparently SDS would lose a lot of money from all the rich people buying stubs daily defecting to another mode.

Thats the only reason they wont add it back. Not because very few people actually care about it.

Seriously. When people say dumb [censored] like "you gotta spend half a paycheck to compete" all i can think is they must be a casual. One of those people that buys the game, plays a few times and gives up on it because its too much of a "grind" and you're not gonna have the best cards in the game 2 weeks in.

You have to spend half a paycheck a month to compete in DD? They literally give you cards just for playing the game.
