Set trade slider all the way empty and when starting the franchise turn cpu trades to off. sucks but you'll have 25% of original rosters otherwise by season end.

Some people enjoy realism in sports games. To those people it's probably understandable to take a little bit less to help the team their signing with, but a top tier player taking rookie money destroys any semblance of realism.
