IMO, the pitch speeds and timing windows are an issue with connections/servers. Although I have had times where I can catch up to fastballs easy, take a lead and then can't catch them for a while.
I think the DDA (that doesn't exist lol) comes more into play on rng for hits, baserunning and fielding issues. Fly ball to the gap, your outfielder gets to if you're behind but doesn't if you're in the lead. Same thing with balls on the infield and fielder urgency. You have to play careful about sending runners and taking extra bases when you are in the lead. You can take more chances when behind and will notice you're safe a lot more.
The games with connection/server issues are just a nightmare all around. Warping pitch speeds and 90+ base stealers stand with their thumb up their [censored] until the pitch is almost released.
I believe you're spot on about server connection problems. I don't know what the gaming companies can do to address this. Many things have been tried, but perhaps SDS can't pull it off like many other companies have. Typically, from my understanding, being a little more open with the revenues and beefing up their infrastructure.
The best, in the short term, would be to fess up to the current and potential customers that the online experience can be anywhere from unplayable to sketchy to occasionally playable. Quit with the silly recommended remedies they know aren't going to help.
Those remedies I've seen in print from the tech "gurus" and I use that term loosely. Typically in this order of intelligence-insulting tips - 1.)Direct wire from router to PS5 - wifi bad..hard-wire good. 2.)power off your router, wait 2 minutes and power it back on. 3.)reboot your console. 4.)more inane suggestions.
The common theme in every suggestion is, and I paraphrase, it's your problem sucker..try our stupid tips (that never work)..and live with it. We ain't compromising our bottom-line by overhauling our network infrastructure.
If your still willing to purchase knowing all the above and, as a customer, are willing to enter into the biz transation..more power to ya.
Also, there is DDA..DGDB..whatever you want to call it to ensure game outcomes.
All the network/solar flares/sunspots/old-monitors/etc don't account for the coded fixes we all know are rampant in this game. Would be nice for the company to throw out that disclaimer as well, but never will.
So, I absolutely agree network issues could play a part. But if you're suggesting, as is a constant theme on this forum, it's all the customers fault..just give it up.
If that's not your suggestion..good man. You rock.
