Guessing it’s probably still not worth it if you want to be smart right?

When watching my teammates’ at bats, they’re striking out too often and having off balance swings wwaaaaayyyy too often. Once or twice every single AB the AI has a horribly off balanced swing, sometimes a full second before the pitch gets to the plate. Definitely could use some tuning, it’s nearly impossible to score runs since I watch full ABs when on base.

Played 3 games online for the first time in forever and I see 90+% of runs still come from homers. So boring. Not every well hit ball needs to be a homer. Doubles exist too! Whatever, back to offline lol

@ballneverlie i wish there was some kind of alternate mode where you use mostly silvers and golds and it was extremely hard to get diamonds somehow

100%. I barely play DD now cuz of it. I really miss the days where each player had 1, MAYBE 2 cards instead of several and good players were actually good. Now it feels like I’m just using a player skin w random jacked up stats on a man candy Wednesday DJ LeMahieu or something

Was just wondering if 90% of runs still come via homer. Trying to see if it’s even worth playing online this year or not.

Haven’t gotten the game but I’ve seen a bunch of videos online of BR games that are like 25-20….. is it that easy to hit or were these just extreme examples? I know it’s on allstar but good lord that doesn’t seem like the tiniest bit of fun

Really, my big issue is SDS AI being player of the game. They sim the game, and if you didn't win the sim they blatantly cheat on behalf of the other player. Well, that and they reward cheesers big time.

This is also very true. RNG and DDA in this game can be brutal at times

But how are people playing the mode compared to how real MLB players do?

Everyone who plays is trying to hit a homer every at bat. Then they get mad when there are too many dingers.

No one is shortening up their swing in this game. But you will see situational baseball in a real game. Yes, even in the year 2023.

I've actually had some success swinging for Contact in online games. This is like a major no-no for The Show players, so you never see it happen. And thus, all you see is a game dominated by homers and strikeouts.

That’s certainly part of it, but even if that’s the case there still shouldn’t be nearly any homers. If you get a good timing good PCI, it’s a home run. Liners, grounders down the line, balls into the gap, etc are barely a thing. Contact swinging shouldn’t be the only way these occur

This game has been the same for 5-7 years. It’s not going to change, at least in regards to gameplay

Yeah you’re probably right lol. Well I made it 3 weeks of playing online that’s better than most years

Sorry to be that guy but I haven’t been in the loop. Was there a significant patch? Went from every swing with the pci touching the ball being a dinger to good timing pci dead center being weak contact and feeling like the game is RNG roulette. Unless I’m imagining this, how does the exact same thing happen every single year hahaha.

Just got an L in a game I was up 4-2 and never backed out. Lost connection with opponent and it gives me the loss. I have so much fun playing this game

It’s not so much the pitches themselves, but the fact that almost every run comes from home runs. Glorified home run derby again this year. Seems like it’ll never change unfortunately. Not very fun imo

My least favorite part about the game, it gets so dull. Whether I win or lose almost every run is from a home run. I’m happy if I get through a game where a single run comes from something else. Glorified home run derby. Yawn
