Face scan is still the glitched scan even after the update this morning….

@Shua2168_MLBTS I love how some time ago you’re on here saying you’re done with the game and done posting on here. I’ve never in all my years seen so much complaining from one account. Just accept the game for what it is and control what you can control. I get that it sucks certain scans aren’t added or updated each year but they’re making some pretty evident efforts this year and last. THEY CAN’T ADD A FACE SCAN IF A PLAYER DOESN’T WANT TO BE SCANNED. You after all these months and complaints and responses just can’t seem to get that through your head. Accept the fact that player scans won’t be added unless these players go to SDS and get scanned in or SDS comes to them during Spring Training. I mean it genuinely must be exhausting to spend all of your free time on here crying and complaining about stuff that obviously isn’t at the top of their priority list. Could they do better with it? Sure. Would I love to see more scans added and see the game as authentic as possible? Of course I would.

Since the game has released just non stop posts throwing hissy fits about face scans. Trust me, I do care about this stuff just as much as you do. But my god, give it a rest PLEASE. Assuming you’re a grown adult, find something better to do in your free time then complain and cry about things SDS doesn’t do right. You have every choice in the world to quit buying the game that you seem to hate and ridicule so much. Whether you genuinely do love the game deep down or not you clearly are never satisfied so you’re stupid to continue to put money in their pockets if the game isn’t meeting your own personal standards.

I don’t disagree as far as what they prioritize and what they care about. It’s the same for every sports gaming company. They care only about micro transactions and you spending more and more money on the game post release.

Them having the DD cards updated with new pictures means nothing. They still have to get the players to come in for scans and the players have to want to do it. If you had modding capabilities on PS5 you’d see much more authentic player creations for players that don’t have scans like you see on NBA 2K for PC for example. My biggest complaint would be why do the new scans not get uploaded until the following year’s game. Never made sense to me. You get a bunch of players added in or updated in ST 25’ but why do those scans have to wait until MLB 26’.. just makes no sense

3/28 roster update wasn’t much of anything, nor the opening day roster we have all been waiting for. But I did come across all of the stuff listed above. It’s possible that mostly all of this came on 3/28. It’s also possible that some came through between then and last night. I finally had the time to do some digging last night after work.

@Shua2168_MLBTS Johan Oviedo’s scan is brand new as of last year. Scan was added into their database February of 2023. Added into the game last season a little after release.

@bleachfro_MLBTS I’d be extremely surprised if we didn’t get scans added and updated throughout the season. They updated and added in so many post release last year. I logged a lot of them and posted some on here when it happened. I’ll drop a list of them below just for reference even though I’m sure I’m gonna be missing a good bit, it still shows just how many we did get added/updated:

@bleachfro_MLBTS Game Update #4 & Server Update @3AM PT. I’ll keep an eye in the morning if there was anything done with the rosters!

I can’t recall when they released the opening day roster update last year. I wanna say it was a few days after opening day but I really don’t recall. Hopefully we get one this Friday or possibly sooner, but it’s hard to tell to be completely honest.

@akapaco159_PSN To conclude: they secretly update players without telling anyone or releasing lists to let us know. Which really sucks, but I’ve got that covered year round!

So a few things:
They don’t ever construct a list of players that receive updated scans, newly added scans, or anything like that. Essentially I made that a goal of mine since I have a passion for likeness updates and such. So myself or anyone else out there would be your only way of knowing who gets updated, or when a scan is newly added in.

When they do these things it’s just completely at random and there never seems to be a rhyme or reason. There’s never a list of patch notes that tells you these things. I’ve just gotten good at digging through the rosters and finding this stuff over the years. Most usuallu comes out of the blue when they drop a roster update. I think they do player ratings updates every 2 weeks or so, so player likeness updates could come with those. Or sometimes you’ll see random roster updates just drop that update team transactions, free agent signings, trades, etc, etc.. and those likeness updates could come within those.

@fubar2k7_PSN they do hair & facial hair updates throughout the season at random. Has been happening for years. Some players it happened to last season:

J. Holliday: hair length updated
G. Henderson: facial hair updated
C. Cowser: beard added
Anyone on the Yankees that come over via FA or trade and had their hair or facial hair updated
Vladdy: had dreads removed
T. Toussiant: dreads removed
J. Ramirez: updated facial hair
M. Garcia: dreads removed (I documented this one happening all the way in July)
P. Lopez: went from beard to just a goatee mid game
J. Boyle: hair length was updated
B. Harper: hair length was shortened
J. Chourio: beard added mid game
C. Holderman: had short hair all year and they finally updated it to long just for him to cut it all off in real life weeks later lol

• a handful of others as well, just wanted to provide somewhat of a list for context. I’ll be sure to check frequently for any of this and tag you guys if and when any updates occur.

Couldn’t agree more. Every year they’re solid about updating anyone on the Yankees and getting rid of facial hair, so I see no reason they can’t add in facial hair for whatever players need those updates. Hair and facial hair updates happen all the time in season for SDS, so hopefully they get that right and correct all those that are necessary.
