    Really don't understand??
  • DrBear100_PSND DrBear100_PSN

I read a lot of topics game is trash, servers are trash etc., etc. I don't get it, some people act as if this game should be perfect. One thing to remember the people who created this game aren't perfect, nobody is perfect in this world, so that means unperfect people make unperfect games with flaws, and quirks. Can online play be frustrating, yes it can be but I can go on a 4-5 game losing streak with my players bats that are no different than a wet noodle to winning 4-5 games in a row hitting perfect perfect homeruns. You win some you lose some you go on to play the next game. This isn't real life it's a video game.

TBH, I think SDS has done good job with content this year. The play it back mini season is an amazing grind. Keep cycling it, it's basically infinity stubs. A good way to complete collections, to which I have read people complaining that they can't complete collections because it's too expensive
So SDS is trying help everyone out with that. It doesn't seem to me that they are all that money hungry if they are giving you a way to earn as many stubs as you would want. Play the game, have fun and remember no team has ever gone 162-0 in baseball why should we expect to that in this game. And if people did then they would be complaining it's to much like an arcade.

One last thing the wet noodle bat some of the best players in baseball go through slumps like they're swinging a wet noodle. Why not it be the same in a baseball video game that's supposed to simulate real life? Has to be more frustrating for a ballplayer going through that in real life. I reckon it could be just as frustrating if someone dumps hundreds or thousands of dollars of real money in this game. Is that SDS's fault for the buyers remorse?

  • Why is hitting online so hard now?
  • DrBear100_PSND DrBear100_PSN

I am actually believing that they increased the difficulty offline too. You have cpu pitchers on rookie and veteran on play it back mini seasons painting corners and also pitchers that can't find the zone.

Wait. You gave up 5 runs in one inning with CC and still kept him in the game until the 9th inning?

    Pretty sure thats on you

I would have given the hook after the homerun.

  • Let's be real
  • DrBear100_PSND DrBear100_PSN

I never quit. When I am down early I always remind myself that's why baseball is 9 innings anything can happen. Like yesterday evening everything I was hitting was good contact, sometimes perfect-perfect line outs first to mid part of the game and I was getting pretty frustrated. I started to abandon my game plan loss my timing and started to swing at everything got down by 3 runs. The 7th inning I was still down by 3 runs, I decided to be patient again 1st batter an 8 pitch good timed line out, 2nd batter laced a double into left field, 3rd batter a 2 run bomb to make it 3-2. 4th batter a perfect-perfect line out to right center. 5th batter a 6 pitch walk and the my opponent quit. He was still winning with 2 innings still to play. That's why no matter how frustrating this game gets and no matter how many perfect perfect line outs or meatballs down the middle that have good timing and my bat turns into a wet noodle I take the win or loss but with that I also take my XP and PXP progress too.

The moments kinda suck. One of the moments to hit 1 homerun, I was walked on 4 straight pitches, try again

@DrBear100_PSN pull the trigger I did in August and it was the best thing I ever did because Beltran is 100% worth it already got him to P5

I'm pulling the trigger, I'm waiting to how low Judge will get. He is under 300k last time I checked.

People have the personal right to rebuke in whatever manner they choose and you are in no position to decide that with the sole exception of how you choose to do so, or if you choose to do so. You are showing some nerve thinking yourself qualified or authorized to tell other people how they choose to voice their complaints or feedback to a company.

Your right I'm not authorized in how people should act. It's called respecting others which should be common sense. People don't have a personal right to rebuke with being mean spirited to others because they may not see it the same way as you do. I see this game through a lens of spending less than $100 on this game as I am sure others see this game completely different than I do because they spent thousands on this game but it still doesn't give those people the right speak like they do. Having the vitriol that some people on here have towards SDS is nothing short of counterproductive. If those people can't stand the game then leave, find another game to play and spend your money on with, that will get their attention more than cursing at them. But don't comeback later and go on a bitter tirade because nothing changed when nothing has changed for the last several years. That's insanity. I'm sure constructive respectful criticism will get the ear of SDS quicker than what's being posted all of the time. The profanity laden rants I'm sure they roll their eyes at and move on. I would if I was them.

There are definite issues with the game. Many complaints are valid and people who have purchased the game have the right to criticize.

What I don't understand is the vitriol, insults to SDS and other players, and name-calling that many of the most relentless complainers resort to.

That is exactly why I posted what I posted. The vitriol is way out of control. The point of my post is it's just a video game. Before online play and gaming forums if you didn't like the game you would move onto to another. I think if people are getting that worked up over a video game great, feel free it's a waste of time imo but the vitirol is unnecessary. It's not changing anything not at this point in this game's life cycle and those complainers points, which some are very valid, have been lost on SDS's ears and everyone else's ears because of the vitriol. Maybe it's time for those complainers to find a new game or past time. I am not an apologist but I see it is for what it is a video game. If I get frustrated with the game I turn it off and go lift weights or throw the baseball around with my son's. These complainers that are spitting out the vitriol don't have to play the game. Constructive respectful criticism yes not the unrespectful nastiness.

  • Judge and Ohtani live series
  • DrBear100_PSND DrBear100_PSN

I scored Ohtani yesterday from a Headliners pack. Still need Judge, Marte, Witt and J-Ram. Judge's price has spiked so I'm holding off on purchasing Marte, Witt or J-Ram until I get lucky enough to pull Judge. I'm not pay that inflated price on Judge

I have a tendency to agree with the OP. Last night I was playing ranked and I am no way the best or good, average at best at this game but dang when up by 3 runs going into the 8th inning and my opponent started hitting homeruns when innings 1-7 it seemed he couldn't hit a watermelon and to make it worse it didn't matter how far out of the strikezone the ball was. It seems more games I play are becoming like that. Mean while I have good timing it's like my bat turns into a wet noodle. Usually a line out, or what seems I got hold of a pitch to watch it die at the warning track. Yes, I know it's just baseball but this feels like it's forces out there more than just baseball.

I wonder what real baseball teams feel when they have a firm control of the game all game until their closer has a meltdown and loses the game for them in the final moments.

Can I ask wich one you bought? There seems to be two different types of Chase packs avalaible for this flash sale.

Both packs, maxed out the purchases on both.

Just trying to figure if I should pull the trigger on purchasing the Live series Judge, J-Ram, Witt and Marte to get Beltran, don't know if it's worth it. I have Neon Brian Reynolds as my CF that's why I'm on the fence.

I don't understand if you lose it's the games fault. There is so many variables throughout the game on both players part that have a greater influence on the game instead of the predestined theory. Let's say you were up by 1 had 22 strikeouts so that means to me your SP was still in the game going into the 8th or 9th inning with that many strikeouts, I'm sure he was gassed only a matter of time that he'd serve up a meatball homerun to tie the game. Why not go into your bullpen sooner.? Before you blame the game,or anything else, look at yourself and ask what could I have done differently in any scenario to preserve the win. I find very hard to imagine that SDS cares that much about any one player to predestine a win or a loss. Seems illogical to me.

  • Okay, I see you SDS

Purchased Ketel, Witt and J-Ram. I have 3 hours before the sale ends..Waiting to see if Judge goes down in price a little more. I'm sure after the sale his price will spike. Maybe the cheapest he'll get.

  • 2B Input
  • DrBear100_PSND DrBear100_PSN

I got Marte during the flash sale when he was well under 100K stubs. I like the switch hitting but his defense is average at best. I'm back with Turang. The lefty vs. lefty is annoying but he rakes and his defense is good. Might put Marte on the bench, but more than likely will sell for a profit, I don't think I want Judge AS that bad.

What about CC's confidence meter? If he gave up a walk and then dinger, who cares about the energy level, he took a hit to his confidence and made him much easier to hit.

MLB the show is primarily an offline game. Even DD, which is just one portion of the game, is just a mode that has optional online play.

You look like a complete idiot when you say stuff like 'theft to charge full price' so why would SDS bother to read further?

Online play is probably the least important aspect of MLB The Show when you take a step back and look at the big picture. Yes it could be improved but you don't help the cause with this sort of post.

I agree with you most of my play is DD offline. I may play 2 or 3 games a week online. I love the grind, players, packs and stubs. Typically I find Friday through Sunday evenings/nights are the worse time to play online. The few times I do play online it usually will be Monday-Wednesday evenings, Saturday and Sunday morning and early afternoons. Much better playing experience during those times. Most of the time though I'm grinding offline.

@Loneblackman_MLBTS said in Too old to rage:

I've been playing the show for over a decade now. At 46 my reaction time and pci placement are not remotely good enough to be super competitive anymore.Getting to World Series after drop to 800 falsely made me think I still had some skills, but I can barely touch legend anymore.

Not complaining. This game is so much more enjoyable now that I dont care about wins and losses. I just play because I love baseball. 10 years ago I'm smashing controllers on lineouts and glitches. Now I'm just laughing and trying to have good games. Wish I'd had this attitude earlier. I see so many people complaining about a glitch here or perfect out there. I've loved this series, even through some of the major flaws. Now that im too old to rage, I'm just enjoying the game.

I agree, I am 48 and I love baseball and this game is fun despite the glaring flaws. I usually use directional because my eyes and reaction time is not what it used to be to use zone. I'm around 600-700 in ranked (haven't played ranked in several weeks because I have been grinding for stubs , finest vouchers and trying to complete programs)but because of the defencies of directional I can go on a little bit of losing streak but I also go on a pretty good winning streak at times too. IIt all depends on what side of the RNG I'm on but I guess it all evens out in the end.
