I'm in the same boat, don't have the reflexes and my eyes aren't what they used to be to use zone hitting. I use time or directional for ranked and I'm at the RNG's mercy most of the time. I am going to try online rated sounds interesting. I don't like the fact that this game pushes for the zone hitting meta. I get it you have more control over your PCI but I would think they would allow timing hitting to be just as competitive as zone hitting on this singular notion that zone hitting doesn't lend itself very well to people with disabilities. You know like people who are missing an arm, hand or fingers. I would think they would like to play competitively online and zone hitting would be difficult to use. Maybe I'm wrong. If so, maybe someone could respectfully correct my thinking or a moderator from SDS could message me.

All this hate over a video game?!? The trolling and vitriol over some thing that's bringing people all over the world with like interest together in a community?!?! Those people who like to talk [censored] need to seriously need to reevaluate their life. I guarantee in real life those people would not have the courage to say the stuff they say to these people in real life. They say all this [censored] from the safe confines of their basements. Do we need those icons for anything? I stopped at the finest vouchers because I didn't see a collection for them and I didn't want to waste my time on them.

I'm not one to complain but if they want prioritize online play then they need to prioritize making it better so it will make people prioritize spending their hard earned despensible income on a PSN subscription. Which I will probably end my subscription here soon because online play isn't as fun as I thought it was going to be so there is really no reason for me to be paying for my internet twice. Offline play is definitely better. I have grinded enough stubs to where if I want one of the online only players then I can get one.

Play it back mini seasons was a nice addition to offline play especially for the grinders. Even if the pitching is extremely suspect.

Yeah, I don't know if it is the case or not, but theoretically a 99 hitter should have just as much success against a 99 pitcher as an 85 hitter would have against an 85 pitcher.

The 99 overall pitchers most people will use have outlier, break outlier, high break, usually 100+ hits and K's per 9. That's what's making it tougher to hit. If youre squaring everything up you'll be fine most of the time, regardless if its 85 vs 85 or 99 vs 99.

Most people will come here complaining that they manipulated the sliders without telling us, screwed with the timing windows, blah blah blah. It's ok to say that you're having a tougher time hitting because its harder to decipher 99 overall Randy Johnsons fastball from his splitter than it was 85 Chase Burns fastball from his circle change. But some just cant do that.

I get that, that's not the issue I brought up, it's the corner painting and good timed ground outs and line outs in the play it back mini seasons with 65 or lower cpu pitchers. I get the whole online pitching, which the player needs to just adjust to the juiced up pitchers. But the offline mini season... a little suspect.

The timing window is inconsistent, you can have a several games where you are good to perfect timing and others(unfortunately more games than not) were I feel as no matter what I do I am swinging early at everything or late at everything. If the swing timing is going to be bad at least make it consistently bad from game to game so we as players will know what to expect.

Wirh that being said,I do believe what @TheGoaler_PSN said, it has something to do with all the juiced 99's flooding the game. That's when things really went off the rails.

I am actually believing that they increased the difficulty offline too. You have cpu pitchers on rookie and veteran on play it back mini seasons painting corners and also pitchers that can't find the zone.

What about CC's confidence meter? If he gave up a walk and then dinger, who cares about the energy level, he took a hit to his confidence and made him much easier to hit.

Wow your comment about Bench not having a 99 didn't age well did it? Like obviously they already had the corner stone ready to be shown, but you just had to make a post and look bad. Ouch, oh and funny how the only time you hear people say DQ stinks is on this forum. Seems like 95% of the players actually really like it and have no problem getting the rewards.

I agree, I am 48 and I love baseball and this game is fun despite the glaring flaws. I usually use directional because my eyes and reaction time is not what it used to be to use zone. I'm around 600-700 in ranked (haven't played ranked in several weeks because I have been grinding for stubs , finest vouchers and trying to complete programs)but because of the defencies of directional I can go on a little bit of losing streak but I also go on a pretty good winning streak at times too. IIt all depends on what side of the RNG I'm on but I guess it all evens out in the end.
