I cannot believe the attributes on this 2nd Half 99 Griffey Jr. lmao absolutely hilarious how unusable that card is on HOF/Legend.

How do you hype up a 99 Griffey Jr and drop that? I’m flabbergasted

Given that Ortiz was dropped out of the sky as a 99 overall player program card with awesome stats, I thought, hey, maybe they’re doing the right thing and releasing THE 99 Griffey Jr earlier this year. Given the negative feedback of his card being the last big collection at the end of last years cycle, I thought maybe they’ll get it right this time around.

Boy was I wrong. What a joke of a card and what a joke to hype this up.

I obviously understand we’ll get a better 99 Griffey but they put themselves in the same stupid position as last year; the best Griffey dropping end of game cycle. Did you not learn from last year? Obviously not

And for those that say, oh it’s a player program card, I wouldn’t have expected much…look at Ortiz

They could have done the right thing and gave us THE 99 Griffey card through a longer grind this year making him free, and obtainable earlier

What did they do? Drop an excuse of a card right when Madden is coming out on top of doubling down about saying their game is working as intended when it’s an obvious mess

Just incredible how out of touch they are with their consumer base lmao

And I’m not even mad, I honestly think it’s hilarious they are getting roasted deservedly across social media. What a disappointment

11-0 in BR going into the 12-0 game. Get matched up with a solid player who has a good record so obviously I’m in for a fight

I’m the away team and I’m down 2-0 going into the top of the 2nd, and I’m thinking I’m forsure donezo

I scrap together a couple hits and have 2 on for the silver Logan Morrison. Lefty lefty he hits a no doubter to right field and I about lost my mind. But it gets better

3-2 going into the bottom of the 2nd and he gets runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs....again I’m thinking I’ve choked lol. I manage to get the double play which ties it at 3 and then he lines out to end the inning

This is where I’m sure my neighbors heard me

Top 3 and I start off with 2 outs thinking if this game is still tied going into the bottom of the 3rd, he’s walking me off.

I proceed to go back to back to back to back and lost part of my soul in the process... I literally could not believe that I squared up on 4 consecutive at bats in that situation but I’m absolutely through the roof leading 7-3 going into the bottom of the 3rd

He actually hits a 2 run bomb to make it interesting at 7-5, but I mange to close it out and get my first 12-0 since 19!!

Still in disbelief of what I just saw happen on my monitor

My last RS game just highlighted every single thing that makes this year's gameplay flat out terrible online.

Flyball to Trout with the indicator to load up for a throw to second base, Trout proceeds to get under the ball and for whatever reason, thinks there is a magical groundball coming his way. He proceeds to reach down to the ground while watching the ball sail right past him, gives my opponent a run.

Gallo then decides he wants to join in on the BS in RF....he decides to hug the wall and not throw to the cutoff man even though I pre loaded the throw. Instead, he runs around and gives my opponent an extra base that leads to another game-gifted run.

Meanwhile, I outhit my opponent and also get multiple perfect/perfect outs, and good/okay balls when the ball is fully enveloped by the PCI. Meanwhile, he hits seeing eye "okay" singles through the hole followed up by the worst fielding I have ever seen from any iteration of this game and here I am sitting with a 4-3 loss that I literally feel like I could not have changed.

The gameplay online is downright pathetic right now and the silence on SDS' part while continually churning out content is now, at this point, a slap in the face to the community.

At this point, I have to motivate myself to play this awful game and I think it's best to take a break...can't believe I'm saying this in April but I cannot continue to motivate myself to play this game and then be continually let down by how bad it plays online.

I know some of you don't give 2 shits about my opinion, but I gotta vent somewhere and I just hope SDS can somehow improve the game...

First RS game back after a week off and wow, this game sorely reminded me of why I took that week off in the first place...

I won’t even waste mine, or your time ranting about what everyone else has stated previously

But I thinks it’s time to take a hiatus until 21 on the PS5....and that’s even if I decide to make that investment at this point, given The Show is the only game I play period.

This game plays terribly online. Simple. VERY few improvements were made from last year. Stellar content. Terrible H2H play. Why do we keep getting suckered into this BS cycle?

Like, if this was the first hiccup this year I wouldn’t care

But let’s be real, you cannot defend this company and the pathetic job they’re doing this year

Pitching this year is just plain bad.

I know I’m beating a dead horse here but I really hope SDS removes the terrible RNG outcomes to pitching for next years game.

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve hit my marks on the meter (analog) going down and up, only to have the pitch end up in a totally different location.

It’s impossible to throw a low change up or curveball below the zone. It either goes in the dirt or is hung in the lower third.

Had times where I get “early” on the meter and the pitch goes lower and vice versa. It’s a joke how much they took the control out of our hands for pitching this year.

Please SDS, take a hard look at pitching and make it better in 20

Since the last patch that “increased timing windows” and “increased PCI size”, we’ve all been plagued by countless good/okays on countless swings with the ball encompassed by the PCI.

So much for marketing and hyping up that new hitting engine and 3 dot system at the beginning of launch. Hitting makes 0 sense. Online gameplay as a whole is pathetic and it’s about time for another hiatus from this game, it’s just not worth my time anymore

Good timed swings with the ball literally in the position of your hyped up 3 tier PCI hitting system resulting in okay contact? Yeah, really great gameplay and programming.

20 has been a joke and the only thing that will make me buy 21 is the PS5 and hopes that competent programmers can make a decent game with it.

Until then, it’s only June and my desire to play this game is nose diving the more I play Ranked. [censored] is just frustrating when the game played great online at the beginning and now we’re stuck with garbage online gameplay that is masked by content. Why did I expect anything else...

This event just places a huge, glaring spotlight on the same issue of contact hitters being useless.

What is the point of making us use these type of players when perfect/perfects are either weak flyouts, a liner right at someone, or the occasional shocking gapper

This event highlights the failure by SDS to make contact hitters effective online for yet another year. What a god awful event. That was the first and last game I’ll play of that. What a garbage idea and implementation

Hitting is fine, doesn’t need any tweaking.

I never thought I’d ask for the game to be made a little easier but my god, after playing my last game on legend I don’t understand how anyone finds that an enjoyable experience

Even contact swings with 99 Jackie produced a PCI that was barely bigger than the ball...coupled with warp speed pitch speeds...no thank you

And this is unfortunate bc ranked seasons is my favorite mode but playing this year just seems to be more of a hassle than enjoyable with how legend plays

I’m sure many feel the same way about HOF as well...maybe tune down pitch speeds just ever so slightly? Idk, I pitched 10 innings with Vida and had 20ks with him but still lost 1-0 to a dribble up the middle by Lofton. Game just isn’t fun at all on legend, and probably only enjoyable on HOF for those that can manage to hit

Thoughts? I’ve seen posts on here about others feeling that online play is hardly enjoyable and I’m starting to feel the same

Agree the outer PCI was a mistake from the beginning and needs to go

What does the outer PCI even represent? What is it’s purpose and how does it make sense? Would love an answer to those questions but I know we won’t get them

Really hope they remove it this year but doubt they will.

It’s pretty obvious it’s a crutch for players who have no plate discipline and is intended to keep lesser skilled players from striking out

It’s done nothing but cause frustration amongst the majority of players on this forum

Definitely can understand how some players will have this take

But I’m fine with it. It’s something new and different from the same repetitive card series we’ve had for the past couple years

You gotta admit, some of the new card art looks incredible

Just want to say: posts like this are what made this forum great back in the day

Simple. Info on how to complete a program/grind.

I remember first diving into DD back in 2018 and this forum helped IMMENSELY with learning how to earn rewards, complete programs and grind in general

I cannot tell you how many breaking balls I’ve tried to throw below the zone, to the point where the ball marker is off the screen, I hit my spots using analog pitching and the ball is still hung in the lower 1/3. Cost me my last ranked season game

How bad is it that I’ve had “just late” release outcomes that resulted in the pitch going higher than where I had it, and vise versa

Pitching is still awful imo. They need to design a new pitching interface where the control attribute effects how hard it is to hit marks on whatever interface you use. If you hit your marks, your pitch should hit EXACTLY where you aimed it. No questions.

Make hitting the marks on the interface harder based on pitch control and BB/9. I’m so [censored] tired of my pitches going nowhere near where I had them with good input.

As others have stated in the forum, since SDS starting patching the game, it has been just downright unenjoyable.

I won't spew out what others have been saying recently, enough has been said. Quite simply, I do not find myself enjoying DD lately due to the gameplay...specifically Ranked Seasons and how bad pitching STILL is.

I have to motivate myself to play which is shocking given how addicted to this game I've been over the years. My last ranked seasons game is a perfect indicator that this game is broken...I won the game and am still frustrated af about how this game is playing right now in RS.

You cannot pitch and you cannot hit your spots. pitches places on the black with great/perfect input are a ball 80% of the time. Forced balls down the middle is what SDS is using to compensate for the fact that it is harder to hit this year with increased pitch speeds and weird timing windows.

This game needs major tuning to be enjoyable like it once was, but that same tuning is what got us to this point.

Apologize for the rant, just frustrated with how this game is playing currently as I am sure many others are. Here's to hoping for better days on the PS5

As practically everyone else has come here and stated, this game is an absolute joke and in a terrible state right now.

From outfielders (and infielders) looking like they’re playing baseball for the first time...to the numerous good/okays when they ball is almost dead center of the PCI....this game is in a precarious spot and the next patch or two are going to make or break this game.

With pitch speeds being faster, PCIs smaller, and timing windows being totally [censored] up IMO, getting “okay” contact for weak flyouts with the likes of Trout, Reggie etc. is game breaking. Just makes it totally unenjoyable at times.

This game feels like it is HR or bust or perfect/perfect to get any type of good exit velo

Pitching is still pathetic as well. And for context sake, I’m sitting at 36-6 and still find myself not enjoying the game....just stating this to negate the counterpoint of “get good”

Wow, this game really took a turn for the worst since the initial patches and if this game isn’t corrected soon, I can see myself playing less and less going forward and it’s crazy to think I feel this way in April already.

I think what we all want is some type of consistency with what happened based on our input.

This is the least amount of fun I’ve had since playing DD

-Ground balls to a certain fielder freeze the game
-early/late swings produce better outcomes than good swings
-the pci sensitivity change in HOF/Legend is ridiculous coupled with the pci size and pitch speeds

I could keep going but what’s the point. I can hardly stomach a full RS game and am just now approaching my 100th game played (98 total). This time last year I guarantee I had many more games played but there is just little to 0 enjoyment from H2H play.

I hate that I love baseball and will keep playing this game because wow is it bad right now…more than likely this is what we’re stuck with for the rest of the year as well

Terrible job SDS. Pitiful product and even more pitiful servers. This game is headed in a terrible direction. Not sure how much more I can take
