I am playing RTTS on 2020, and I would like to see more actual minor league stadiums. You only cycle through what 10-12 stadiums in the game, and sometimes they don't make sense with the team that they are playing in. Playing a game in Florida, but the background is rugged mountains? SDS makes enough money to pay MILB/MLB, or whomever to get us many more minor league stadiums.

I would be ok with them ONLY if they didn't look completely horrible. I have never liked any of them. Perhaps if you could modify them like other pieces of equipment and hide their horrible look I would consider it.

Managers that actually make realistic decisions. I am in a 25 game hit streak only to be benched but sent in as a pinch hitter in the 7th inning of a game my team is losing by 9 runs. If I am off for the day and absolutely need to go in, how about as a pinch runner or defensive replacement?

I have wondered why stamina isn't tied to pitch type. I have faced guys that had Ryan on the mound, and it was obvious there was no way they were taking him out regardless of what happened. If you are going to blaze 100 pitches at 102 MPH every time, then your stamina needs to take a MASSIVE hit.
But yes, your opponent quitting after the first and your stamina takes a full 9 inning game hit is not good.

in the 2020 moments you have one at bat with Victorino and you have to hit a home run. Every pitch is thrown so you can't pull the ball towards Pesky's pole, and it hits the monster or is caught at the track in left center. I think his power for that card was only in the low 50s. I never was able to beat that one.
Same issue with the Jackie Robinson program. Hit one home run in Forbes. Had one try where I hit it to center, rounded third and the throw was way off line and Stallings, speed rating in the low 30's somehow beat Robinson from nearly the dugout to the plate in a dash.
Eventually I did get the inside the park homer, but it took me almost 8 months.

I usually enjoy moments but that is one of my biggest pet peeves. An obvious double to the gap and the runner who was on first getting thrown out trying to score from first
I have had different actions leading to the same result. Get x number of hits with 1 XBH. I get hits in the first two at bats, make an out in the third at bat, come to bat with a runner on first in what is clearly going to be my final at bat.
I then rock a liner into the gap and nobody is in the same zip code. Runner on first gets to second and STOPS. Challenge failed.

Dude, I wanted to read this, but one giant paragraph makes my eyes hurt.

I don't know about a "demand call up", but they definitely need to give us more access to the agent, and for more than the usual mid season check up bs.
I have seen YT videos where a player was clearly blocked in AA or AAA, asked if they could change their position and speed their progress and sure enough it worked. I agree it is based off depth chart, but they intentionally keep you down until a scripted date.
Problem is that AI roster management on RTTS is kind of broken. You never get sent in as a pinch runner/defensive replacement on a day off, and you can be on a massive tear at the plate, be benched, but sent in as a pinch hitter in a game you are trailing by 10 runs in.
-
@halfbutt ok. I was really having trouble figuring out what you were getting at. I think the better solution is to fix the catcher throwing and/or pitcher pick off attempts.
I don't know if it's RNG on these, or what. I can do everything right, have the runner beat by a mile and the runner is still called safe, and other times where I was sure he was safe and I get the call in my favor.
Same with pickoffs. I have had many times where I caught the runner and the throw pulls the first baseman off the bag to save the throw.

@fubar2k7 Unfortunately yes. It just cycled through the end of season and into the normal progression. It's ok. I saw how the story ends online, and I didn't miss that much.
-
I can confirm it's a glitch. I FINALLY got the chance to retire, go through the season, all the scenes talking about my final days with the team, season ends, and It still would not let me retire. Same old pre season routine. I then rejected every offer and it FORCED me to try out for a team. Done. Just going to start a new RTTS character and move on since it's broken.

I am having trouble telling if you are the pitcher or baserunner in this post. I have had many games against guys who loaded their lineups with speed cheesers who tried to steal every base with every runner. You get caught in the loop of not wanting to give them the extra step and eventually having to throw the ball. Obviously, I don't drag it on forever, but against a cheeser like this you have to let them know you aren't just going to roll over for them.
I had one guy that took the extra step every time, and I picked him off three times and he quit. Regarding the rules in MLB changing, I don't recall them making stealing bases illegal, so what are you asking for? Runners have to ask permission for a lead off?

I know when I played Madden a very long time ago they would show highlights from other games. Perhaps a time out to go to a clutch moment for the team you are battling for the division if it can change the standings, or someone hitting a walk off, or a key strikeout to stop a rally.
Although the gameplay was cheesy, triple play had AWESOME fake commercials to start the top of the inning. "The third inning is brought to you by lobster cola", etc. Something, anything to break the monotony. I have only played two different years and I have already heard it all a million times.
-
While I understand OP's point, fubar is right. Perhaps having multiple story lines, even if they have to recycle older ones to be used based on say a pre draft workout, or whatever MLB's equivalent to the combine is called.
Perhaps a more random draft order instead of being say mid to late draft, sometimes you get picked number one overall, or maybe you are the last pick in the draft.
Maybe basing your minor league experience to match the expectations of where you got drafted would help a bit too.
Once in the show the managers usually stink. I have a 25 game hit streak and I am benched to start the game, but get used as a pinch hitter in a game we are losing by 8 in the 7th inning? How about being brought in as a defensive replacement when not starting, or part of a double switch?
If they are going to keep having rain situations how about games being delayed and pitchers having to be replaced, or rained out and rescheduled or called if after the 5th?
I would not mind multiple home screens between games. I am sick of being in the clubhouse at home and plane/bus on the road. Have me in the hotel or home, or at a restaurant, etc.

@chucky97___ Believe me, I have seen cheesing and then some. I understand the logic in your reply completely. Your initial statement sounded like you wanted it just to be toxic. I still don't want toxic play though.
My job is stressful enough. When I go online to play, and know my reflexes aren't what they used to be I go in expecting the L half the time. Having to endure toxic play and people that freeze off/ddossed to steal my rare wins just really sets me off.
If you want to fight fire with fire, please feel free to do so, but I want SDS to minimize the options for this as much as possible. I would bet the number of rage quits might go down a bit. I could be wrong, but the "win at all costs, even if you have to cheat" mindset needs to be wiped out.
Edit. I am not accusing you of doing that.

@chucky97___ Says the guy that admitted on this forum he WANTS the toxic play. Defend the undefendable. CHEESER.

@X-FREEZE-OFF-X no i want all the toxic powers, if you hit a homerun on me early, then i shut you down, I want you to see yourself getting K'd.
Tell me you are a cheeser without telling me you are a cheeser.

Cool down will never work. I am a 400 level player and it seems like every time I get the lead the game ends. That is why I never completed a lot of the prestige programs for the 2020 version. Just take your W and move on.
But to answer the options you provided:
1 - I had several games where I was in the 3rd inning of a forever event win and got ddossed. Should I then be stuck with a cool down because my opponent cheated and stole the win? Perhaps doubling of all rewards for the person that got dashboarded would help ease the frustration, but better still just have the game be taken over by the AI for the rager and you play on Rookie or Veteran level regardless of the rating and your stats are counted.
2 - People who frequently rage quit don't care about rating until after the season ends and they try to steal a rating they don't deserve, but honestly who cares? If I were to suddenly get better and make it to say CS level, I would not put the banner up because it's just silly to brag about your rating.
3 is covered in my answer in 1.

Flipping is only a vehicle to get stubs … I would like to earn more and I am opposed to the idea, that money can get everything
I understand your point, but I think they should simply put ALL the cards in the game when you buy it, This then removes the grind, which in my opinion drives a lot of the toxic behavior online.
As it stands right now you pay the initial price, but that only gets you partial access to the game. You then have to buy via stubs or grind to get many of the cards, some of them appear to be being moved behind a paywall from what I read this year.
Just give me the up front cost for all the cards up front, I can then play when I want, no FOMO driving toxic behavior when I play others online, and everyone has the same, which removes a lot of complaints from the weaker players.
I know that will never happen because SDS is becoming EA sports part two, but its just a thought.

@BiigD008 OK, so that's what 1 or 2 out of 10,000 pitches? This game has way too many foul balls, and its because the hitting engine is broken. They do this because if your pitcher is doing too good they want to drive up your pitch count and force you into the bullpen.
