When playing as the Red Sox, Alex Bregman is missing from the roster, and when playing as the Mets, Pete Alonso is also absent. Additionally, if you select a different team, neither player is available for trade. Those are just two players I have noticed so far.

If a player on your team makes it to the all star game, you should be able to play as that player or players.
