I’ve been an early pre-order dude since ‘19 and hit the market early release flipping thousand of gold equipment cards for a month while making enough bank to last me the entire game cycle.
I tell myself I don’t care about collecting every card but once the game cycle starts I have OCD about collecting every single card as soon as I can for the Nostalgia high (I’m 41). Not only that, but the last 2 years I’ve developed OCD about paralleling 5 what I think the GOD SQUAD cards will be (P5 within the top 100), the Mickeys, the Trouts. I’m working on my 30+ P5 right now. And guess what, I suck online so I haven’t played ranked since 2019. For me I just do some batting practice at Coors field for 4 hours a day, streaming something in the background. Super low stress but boring. I got Josh Donaldson without doing any moments or the showdown to give an example of how much time I play. Lol
In ‘23 I’m going to start a new strategy because I feel ‘23 will just be another copy and paste with a few little add ons. Once they go all New Gen it might get better. I’m going to jump into ‘22 rank soon and play 1 game a night so that I can finally enjoy my P5s until get the new game.
I won’t get ‘23 when it comes out. I’m going to wait until the very last Monthly awards. After that, the Finest program is next. I’ll play the last BR and Ranked seasons and do all the events from Oct on to get those late 1 million cards.
In the end I think I will be satisfied with my team and save 1000+ hours on something more constructive haha.
I hated the fact that I P5 a few players twice. There should only be one 99 of each player.
