Yep, I'm laughing because I didn't know there was an update but, everything was whacky. Even the batting challenge training session was lagging all over the place and the pitching slowed down by ...like half on my timing. I would swing when I normally would at a specific pitch and was so early...missed, whiff swings based on the same ball position I would always swing and...
not even close. I couldn't understand why .. visually and audio ques...place on the screen...ball position everything but the swing was on another planet! My players arm disappeared into his shadow ...a lot of weird little glitchy like things...but, for me it stabilized last night. Haven't tried today.

@richmadky_PSN catcher, catcher near, catcher far. These are my goto's. The slight difference in zoom levels help if I'm early or late. I like to see more of the field and also, for me, less zoom allows me to see more of the break, takes a little longer for the ball to get into the zone and the wider field of view...for me ...I get more timing ques and just feel like it's better than being completely zoomed in and fixated so much on a narrow view. Its like looking out a sliding glass door vs an airplane window...and is more immersive for me.

Well, I agree with most of this. What struck me was the mention of the contract. I admit that I have not yet gotten as far as arbitration but, the negotiation of the first contract or any contract seems almost completely irrelevant. We get nothing for the money so what is the point other than to solidify your spot on the team? I was also thinking last night how much I really love RTTS, and it looks like there was an update to graphics...? I hadn't played in about a month or so and last night came back and was really impressed...much more so than on release. I might have been to critical at first because almost everything was so reminiscent of 24 but, I noticed more and appreciated all of the subtle changes and additions. Our game could be better, yes but, overall, I have to say I still love this game at times and it truly scratches that itch. I would like to see RTTS "presentation" and game play (style) as an option in Franchise. For me this would open up franchise into a format and allow a connection to my team and players that it doesn't offer...me in it's current format. For all of its shortcomings or faults we all point out or wish for, this game is beautiful and enjoyable for what it is. A game for baseball lovers that can be whatever you want it to be. I have decided that this year is definitely an improvement and I hope they take all the feedback and make 26 even better.

All of this is very easily manipulated by the user of they understand what they are doing...you will be promoted when your over is high enough so, figure out what's making your ovr go up and use it or don't to promote yourself as fast or slo as you want. There is no need for a slider or any other mechanic necessary...
-
When your overall is as high or higher than the position player you will be replacing. Generally this is the benchmark.
-
This also happens in the first inning if your pitching in RTTS. No audio other than the commentary for the first inning...every so often .
-
I suppose it could be possible to just link the start of the swing with the initial player input... yes, I agree. I see everyone's point...the batter probably shouldn't preload if I'm not swinging yet?...it would annoy me to no end of I was playing online for sure.
I don't, so I haven't experienced this.
Thanks for the feedback. -
@ElMatriixX_PSN not necessarily no. I didn't mean to diminish your point but, it's something that has been used for a very long time and I don't see how it can be prevented. The batter has to swing and can't do that without body movement so there is always going to be a swing animation tied to the swing and the players timing. I think it inevitable that people would eventually see this and use it. I've been using it since Nintendo baseball in 1987...I don't think this is new...it's just the "new" topic of the moment because someone mentioned it...I would think a lot of people playing have used tempo for years and it's just now being rediscovered?
I get your frustration. This is how I see it... -
Also...just remember depending on your age...this is Exactly how we all used to play sports games...Tempo and timing is all we had and still reigns supreme. This is the way
-
Just extrapolate this out...all the way. Tempo is generally the #1 most important aspect of any action in sports. To be fluid and have your body working in tandom. Every "swing" of any sort in any sport is completely dependent on timing which is directly related to tempo.
My only real suggestion here is that ...Tempo is king and should completely negate the need to use any other method incorporated in this game to be good. No need for zone hitting or pci [censored]. Imo all of that involves guess work and subjective preferences and seemingly major decisions about setup of your systems when ... truly ALL that matters is..."Did you 'time' your swing right"...
Tempo will never be removed and ...if it were then we would have stone cold static players that did not move their feet or legs etc....you can not swing any object without tempo and body signals...surprised this has ever been an issue or a technique that was overlooked until just recently? I see your point about feeling hobbled because people are reading the avatars movement...but, maybe that's a skill developed through playing and recognition that should be rewarded more than considered some form of exploitation? -
@yankblan_PSN lol...true story...you could see this one coming....but, would you have more fun playing 3 games an hour and having success or sit through 200 pitches that were unnecessary and maybe, not so realistic or nonsensical...IDK. That's the argument and the decision to make. Everyone will have a threshold and I guess we're all hoping to be heard and if there is a majority....then maybe some of our feedback will get some attention...?
-
Catcher, near, far, zoom, or custom 1,2, or 3...
-
@Ledfoot_19_PSN thanks for this...
-
Who wants to sit through 9 pitch at bats... multiple times to complete a mission or scenario when you want to grind and get things done. I don't have the patience...that's my fault I know, but, honestly when you want to play and you just sit there over and over again experiencing this... eventually I just turn it off and think that was a totally unenjoyable waste of time...so unenjoyable that I quit out of boredom.
-
That's how I see it...age is the difference...you'll get 2x xp for 10 games if you go to MLB ...or you'll get development points 20-35, a perk...maybe and a gear piece that's worth pretty much zero. Ask me...this is basically equal benefits so, the difference is mostly 18 or 22...plus whatever your evaluation of the new content might be... otherwise it's all the same
-
Closing gets boring really fast ..imo...and you won't get to hit on the days off if you choose to pitch less.
-
Restart...they won't ask you again...the best route for the most play time and development (points) is pitch in the rotation and play position when not pitching.
-
I got promoted from AA-AAA in one month and to the majors a month after that...so by June and again... everything is exactly the same there are no new barriers or pathways to promotion. Game situations and specific results and opportunities are directly tied to your points in a given skill and stats matter so, the additional 35 skill points right off the bat is really nice...I went with Cal State and TCU every time.... exposure seems completely irrelevant but, skill development is really a chunk of points and a free perk for 2 way player...you get your choice of 1 out of 3 offered... generally from my experience..if you simply go to college you will be the #1 pick...every time.
-
If you don't care about being #1 overall...I would say no...but, I went twice and went to MLB once and not college and I kind of missed the new content. The game play is identical to 24 so, and f you don't go to college you're kind of missing any "new" content. I also preferred the skill points and perks prior to going to the minors. I will continue to choose college on any other toons I create as this is really the only new thing to do... Enjoy.

I play directional with, catcher near, zoom, catcher far, catcher or custom 3 depending on how I'm seeing the ball and it's so much more fun and just better in every possible way for me. I'm 57 and the game resembles what we grew up with and, frankly what I prefer. I don't want all the extra [censored] on my screen and I don't need some extreme form of input to make it more fun. Harder does not always equal more immersion or fun or enhance game play. What it's good for is bragging rights and some form of bravado ...I prefer to chill out, relax, and play a game that resembles a baseball game not a carnival game of swing the funky looking quotation thing with dots in the middle and have that dot hit that dot and squiggly line and that equals a hit! Sweet...not to mention every single "new" method has been done over the last 30 years...pulse, pci, timing, directional etc...none of this is new...it's just been adopted as "meta" because it's sweaty. Enjoy...you're not alone in your thinking.
