So Why is SDS Allowing Tempo to be in the game???
-
@MUSTARDxTIGER__PSN the way I understand tempo. It is the animation between the pitcher and the batter. The earlier the batter starts his leg kick that faster the pitch is going to be and vice versa. A lot of the top players have videos that break it down.

@Casualy-Hardcor_XBL
So you telling me the if am pitching and I choose to throw a fastball is okey for the system to allow the hitters animation to get ready cuz im throwing a fastball.. so all I got to do is look a the player moment for me to know what pitch is coming, in baseball it doesn’t work like that.. -
If tempo is actually a thing, wouldn’t the solution be to have the batter begin the leg kick at the same time and with the same quickness on every pitch, regardless of speed, but have a slight delay at the peak of the kick? Making the delay component closer to the swing timing would negate its usefulness.
Tempo is a reference to the speed in which the batter’s leg kick (or the pitcher’s delivery, it depends on who you ask that claims to be able to do it) occurs in-game purportedly correlating with the speed of the pitch, such that it occurring sooner/quicker tips that a fastball is being thrown while it occurring later tips that an off speed pitch is being thrown. This negates one of the fundamental aspects of baseball (changing speeds to fool a batter) and allows for better hitting results. It isn’t part of baseball because in real life, the batter is the one timing their leg kick. However, in-game, the leg kick animation occurs automatically and isn’t triggered by the user.

Go and Watch streamers when they said ohh I don’t like this card he got a bad swing is cuz they can’t not do tempo with that card not every card has tempo so yes they can fix this

I wish ppl would understand what you just said bro, thank you -
@ElMatriixX_PSN pitchers change arm slots, leg kicks, wind ups, etc all the time. It’s up to the hitters to recognize them and figure it out.

@ElMatriixX_PSN not necessarily no. I didn't mean to diminish your point but, it's something that has been used for a very long time and I don't see how it can be prevented. The batter has to swing and can't do that without body movement so there is always going to be a swing animation tied to the swing and the players timing. I think it inevitable that people would eventually see this and use it. I've been using it since Nintendo baseball in 1987...I don't think this is new...it's just the "new" topic of the moment because someone mentioned it...I would think a lot of people playing have used tempo for years and it's just now being rediscovered?
I get your frustration. This is how I see it... -
I suppose it could be possible to just link the start of the swing with the initial player input... yes, I agree. I see everyone's point...the batter probably shouldn't preload if I'm not swinging yet?...it would annoy me to no end of I was playing online for sure.
I don't, so I haven't experienced this.
Thanks for the feedback. -
Hey the Astros used tempo when they cheated in the 2017 World Series. If it's in the game...
-
This is how I look at tempo in the game is more accurate than using guess pitch on.. if the show is going to allow this type of animation just put guess pitch on online
️ tempo is the same cheating method that the Astros used..they know what pitch is coming before is released..now i know why this guys avg is 400-500 top rank
do u know how hard is to strike someone the already knows what pitch is coming???

Unless you’re using left stick back and forth (which is really fun), they kind of have to preload the leg kick with a timer.
BTW, using zone+analog down/up really helps reset your timing, and makes the lesser swings usable (Jason Bay was a common complaint). It’s just not good for controllers when playing competitively.

Good try The Show tempo still in the game, thanks for trying to get rid off…
