There is nothing more annoying then getting solid contact and seeing the OFs turn and take off toward the wall only to calmly slow up and catch it at the warning track with ease.

I am a firm believer that rookie moments are more difficult then veteran and allstar moments.

I agree with this 100%. Biggest issue for me seems to be having missions on Rookie, with sinker pitchers. You can't get underneath the ball enough, so there's a lot of lineouts to the pitcher and second baseman.

Not very many people have offered to put him up for sale, being so new. The max amount you can pay for a common is 2500. You just have place your order and wait your turn. I was in the same boat Friday night, and then order complete Saturday morning.

  • Certain batter swings slower to inside pitches?

I heard Ramone talk in the past stream about Murray’s smooth swing. Unreal that they say now swings don’t matter.

To be fair it was two years ago I think. I feel they were responding to criticism of cards and saying the swing doesn't matter. I heard them praising Murray's swing too and raised an eyebrow. In theory it shouldn't if you swing(press x) in the correct part of the timing window, the numbers should calculate the result. The animation is just an animation.

SDS has said in the past swings don't matter. But I don't buy it. There are players I lay off inside pitches with, Ripken, Piazza, etc and then there are some I look for inside pitches, Sheffield, Yordana Alvarez. It could be an individual batters timing window also. I don't know what affects that, if anything, but I feel that's where vision comes into play.

Niiiiiice! A Satchel Paige card would be guaranteed stub sales from me. Good choices my man.

    This day in history:
Stan Musial becomes MLB all time total base leader.
John Franco becomes all time saves leader by a LHP.
Honus Wagner gets his 2000th hit

Also on this day in history, Seattle Mariners Joe Random recorded a single and double against the Chicago White Sox. It was historic.

I've done the same except unfortunately not in the same attempt so far.

I hate ballplayer moments the worse. I've done nothing with him. And I probably won't all year.

  • Theory: High Diamonds Break the Game
  • CamdenCrazy77_PSNC CamdenCrazy77_PSN

I would agree with this post. I remember (when being able to play) at the beginning of the game hitting balls over players heads and routinely getting doubles. The game felt fresh and exciting. Now it's all flyouts or HRs. I don't play online, but against the CPU, hitting feels a little stagnant unless you have power

  • CamdenCrazy77_PSNC CamdenCrazy77_PSN

As an O's fan he was my favorite pitcher when here. His inconsistency was maddening though. His problem while in Baltimore was the third strike and walks. He could get someone 0-2 or 1-2 easy and quickly. Then he nibbled and walked guys and then a grooved fastball happened with men on base. Plus I thin Aaron Judge lives in his head. I miss him and hope he continues his success.

This may just be personal preference, but AS Wade Boggs is great for a gold. No power, but everything finds a gap or falls in front of the OF.

I would do a round of batting practice with him, see if his swing feels comfortable to you. Although the way Trea Turner is hitting, he may get an upgrade and be cheaper. Plus great speed.

It is very annoying, but I think constant very early and very late foul balls are the bigger issue

I agree. If SDS wants realism, very early and very late should be swing and misses.

  • Players you think have the quickest swing?

Blackmon no question also Matt Kemp

Kemp really? I got his Prime in a pack and was thrilled, but maybe due to too high expectations I've been disappointed. I square him up really well, just warning track or hard lineouts to left. Maybe I've been too early and should wait with him? I've learned that Ripkens swing works better early. Maybe the opposite with Kemp?

Anthony Santander has been legit for my Os. I think he's ties for league lead in extra base hits plus he's got an 18 game hitting streak. He's only a silver so he's primed for a special one time diamond card.

The Cruz moments were an apology for the Brandon Phillips moments. SDS did us a solid with them.

  • What's your favorite mode in DD?
  • CamdenCrazy77_PSNC CamdenCrazy77_PSN

@over50beatdown said in What's your favorite mode in DD?:

3-inning Events are a blast and less tedious than a nine-inning RS grind, but I play TA and conquest the most; I cycle through with theme teams. 6-10 games, adjust lineups/rotations and you get a synergy; some teams are clearly more powerful than others. I had a hell of a time getting the Tigers and Royals to gel consistently but the Marlins, Rays and Mariners were amazing. TA helped a lot; I'm at 92% for TA3.

The Marlins can put together some nice rallies with their live series and miggy and Sheffield. They are fun to grind games for affinity. Not a lot of HR, but a lot of 3-5 hit innings with the ball in play.

  • Lineup/collection help. Please.
  • CamdenCrazy77_PSNC CamdenCrazy77_PSN

    Hello,

I'm still grinding for Mickey. I lack Scherzer, Degrom, and Arenado. I have 267,000 in stubs. I have my 5th inning choice pack unopened and I have Reggie/Larkin/Posey pack unopened. I'm thinking of choosing the highest betweeno, Ortiz, or Walker and selling to complete the collection. But the Larry walker card looks so tantalizing. Currently in RF I have HR Derby Stanton (who I've fallen in love with) but he's sellable as I like defense and speed. I've got lighting Cody in LF, Trout in CF. At SS I had the first Rollins, but I'm flipping between lighting Correa or Torres. Biggio at catcher. Prime Roberta at second and staying. I've really started to enjoy Yankees reward Giambi at first. But again speed. Thought about sliding Cody to first and keep Larry. Or sell Larry take Reggie. But I hear Larkin rips. Can I please get a little advice or opinion on a direction?
    Thanks all!
