From watching twitch to playing my fair share of games, it seems like predetermined outcomes are real. I've especially noticed that when a fluky hit happens, the odds a home run happens thereafter increases dramatically. Can someone convince me otherwise?

IMO, MLB 22 is currently the worst major sports video game on the market.

I'd put both NBA 2k22 and Madden 23 above it. The basic gameplay in both is much cleaner.

When I first started playing MLBTS around 10 years ago, it was hands down my favorite video game. The decline of this franchise over the last few years has really hurt my soul. Fingers-crossed next year gets better...

In my last game, I hit 17 balls over 100 miles per hour versus my opponent who hit 5 and still lost by multiple runs. I realize RNG is part of the game, but can SDS tighten the screws a bit?

There are too many inconsistencies with regard to outcomes. A perfect/perfect pitch could end up a foot away from the possible location outcome. A perfect/perfect hit could be a groundout while a very early swing on a ball on the inside corner could be a home run. RNG will always be a part of the game, but I feel year by year the importance of skill becomes less relevant.

I get they want to make the game competitive, but they should do more than pitch speed differential to separate skill levels. I feel like they should make a game mode where RNG has very little influence over outcomes. I understand that some might think that would make the game more monotonous, but to me, it would be more fair and consistent.

I also wish SDS could explain the hitting and pitching engine a bit better. I believe that would add a lot of clarity for the community.

All of us deserve better gameplay than what we've gotten over the past few years. I don't know what else would motivate them to do an overhaul...

I've had it go both ways, games where I've won by 7-8 runs and didn't play well and others where I've gone 1 for 5 on perfect perfects and lost to someone 150 points lower than me. We need to go back to the 2013 days when user input was king. At least make another game mode where RNG is marginal

nothing is more frustrating that putting the pci on the ball while getting good exit velos and losing to someone that consistently has lower pci ratings and exit velos

And RNG is still at its finest. 32-4 in non-world series-clinching games, and 0-2 on the latter losing both in the 9tth. You can't tell me its bad luck...

Has anyone had any issues with a perfect pitch severely missing location?

I lost a game in the bottom of the 9th via a bases-loaded walk.

I located a fastball well inside the strike zone on the outside corner, my feedback was perfect. The end result was the ball finished several inches below the zone and the winning run was walked in.

Still wondering how this happened...

At times it almost feels like outcomes are predictable. Has there been any explanation of how it works?

I've lost three out of four games due to disconnects. I'm wired in and everything else in my home stays connected to the network. Does anyone else have these issues?

Can SDS define random?

I've played enough games to see that outcome aint random like flipping a coin or rolling dice, so can SDS please explain the RNG engine?

I love this franchise and have been playing it for the last 15 years. I truly want this game to succeed, but I also have to be honest. After migrating away from this game to try other sports games (College Football 25, NBA2K, and PGA2K to name a few), this may be a hot take, but I feel like MLBTS's gameplay is by far the worst. My reasoning is solely related to inconsistent outputs. For example in NBA2K, your ability to make a shot Is predicted on several factors like shot release timing and how good the shot itself is contested. If you don't green based on those factors, the ball doesn't go in the basket. There's just too many scenarios in MLBTS where bad timing and 11 and 12 pci placements, generate results that are too good.
