As far as I’m aware there is no way to invite friends on Xbox or join in progress, I know on PlayStation there is a way to invite from the friends or console menu, but on Xbox there is not… the only way to play with friends is to time it up right and search for games together at the same time. Was lucky enough to get in my friends 2s game one time after trying to about an hour.

It’s like you didn’t even watch or read anything on co op. They literally went over all of this in the stream. This is beta co op. They said no invites to friends in tech test. And DD co op will be a draft of all your cards between teammates.

Did they? I didn’t watch the stream, but that’s kind of silly… why wouldn’t they include that? Did they say why? Because PlayStation can invite friends and play with friends..
