    Smooth batting stance?

Personally, I use, sorry for spelling this wrong, Yangerves Solarte. I don't know what it was, but I started using it in 17 and have always loved it!

Meh, Jay Bruce is swinging a decent bat, but it's his defense that really holds him back from being a gold, his bat isn't awesome enough to overcome that flaw.

Also Jean Segura isn't really that great, certainly not gold status.

Didi's defense also really hurts him from approaching gold status, and like Bruce, doesn't hit well "enough" to overcome that to reach gold.

Also I think Cutch has been decent, been hot, batting .435 last 7 games, if he continues that, could start approaching/

I think the only legitimate case right now is Hoskins, who's defense doesn't hold him back bc he is a 1B

Fair enough. Regarding Segura, mind if I compare him to another second basemen in the NL?
    Jean Segura:.261/.340/.424/.764 4Hr and 12RBI
    Mike Moustakas: .242/.342/.355/.697 2Hr and 10RBI

Not saying that Segura should be a lock for gold, however, if Moustakas is a gold with those stats, then Segura should be, too. OR! Wild concept here, neither of them should be

Moose isn't a gold because of his 2020 stats, he's a gold because of his 2018 and 2019 stats. But yes, he probably gets downgraded soon. (And while Segura had a nice 2018 and a solid 2019, it wasn't as good as Moustakas's, so he doesn't have that to fall back on.)

I could be late to the party here, but I thought those 3 year stat totals/averages we're kinda disproven with Alonso going , Blackmon fluctuating so much, Lynn having a 4.77 era 2 years ago and a 3.65 era last year and an over 1.2 whip in both of the previous two seasons. I could go on, but am I mistaken that they got rid of the "three year averages"?

Alonso isn't a good example because he hasn't played in MLB for three years anyway. + First basemen are rated differently then say a shortstop, power hitting 1B are a dime a dozen, if he was a SS and had that power, he'd still be diamond.

Lynn has a fairly low walk-rate and high K rate in 2019, which coupled with his 2020 campaign you can make a great case for diamond since K/9 and BB/9 have a large influence on pitcher ratings.

They certainly are more aggressive with upgrades and downgrades, but that doesn't = getting rid of the 3-year average. If anything, it can easily be chalked up to just another part of the weird 60 game season, doing an upgrade every week this year is like doing one every 2.7 weeks in a normal season.

Wow, that's actually a really good explanation. Thank you for that!

Change my mind if I'm wrong!
The Phillies' starting hitters excluding Quinn, Kingery, and sadly, McCutchen should all be gold or higher.
The Phillies' pitchers excluding Nola, Wheeler and Workman (possibly Hembree, too) should all be 0 overalls.

  • Sds can u explain?
  • B bpryor46

I noticed that, too... Why don't they move Sale there, too? If players on the IL are free agents in the game, why keep Chris Sale on his team?

the fact that someone comes on here to post a complaint where they tell sds to suck it because they had one perfect perfect not go for a hit is pretty funny..... I would be upset for a solid 2-3 seconds probably... it would wear off long before I could login here to post about it thinking anyone cares at all...

While I agree with this, the fact that there is a "perfect" result that ends up going foul is baffling. I've had around 6-7 of those and have just kinda left it in the past. It's not the worst feeling in the world, as there are other, more frustrating things that happen in the game. Just kinda annoying and the whole "perfect-perfect" shouldn't be given as feedback for a foul, as a foul is not ever a a result of perfect timing.

I'm the best at "perfect perfect" foul balls. Currently up to 8

  • Thought I would never say this
  • B bpryor46

Agreed. I haven't exactly been grinding this year, hence the 8-4 record, but other than pitching and the occasional abysmal fielding blips, it's a ton of fun.
