Update:
I installed the app on my older Samsung Phone and taking a Photo and uploading it worked immediately!

@swtnlw81 i I have exactly the same problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times. Used VPN because I'm from Germany. Maybe because of data protection. but nothing helps. it just doesn't work.
