I stopped H2H last inning. This inning has been all offline. Just finally hit that wall, I do every year. You just get burned out. I am only continuing to get Bench and Griffey Jr to finally finish out my all-Reds team.
-
I am taking Bench but that is because I have an All-Reds team I am fielding. Monthly Award Votto @ 1st, Prime Morgan @ 2nd, Milestone Larkin @ SS, Finest India @ 3rd, Bench @ C, Finest Winker @ LF, Milestone Griffey @ CF, All-Star Castellanos @ RF.... Pitching is my achilles heal. Not a lot going on there but do have Dibble and Chapman in the BP.
-
Now let's see if you can get 28! Drop a third strike, let him get to base, then strike out the next one as well LOL
-
I think I have only disconnected twice on my side. Both I was losing anyway. As far as wins go I probably have a good 20 wins from disconnected opponents and I would say it was probably 60/40% on w/l rate. I don't know my exact record but I usually sit somewhere between 30-40 wins above loses. I think I am like 145-110 right now or something.

We have enough hitters in the lineup who can hit HRs. We still need small ball strategy and putting a DH in takes that away. Not every player needs to be able to hit a ball 500 feet.

DH is the worst thing to happen to baseball. American league is too afraid to mess up their manicures. NL better not ever go to DH, you grow up playing baseball, everyone hits. This whole thought process to have someone who can't play defense to be able to make a team because they are worried a pitcher...might get hit. I want to see the stats for how many pitchers get hurt batting a year compared to total AB.
There's nothing more boring than watching an inept pitcher try to hit or lay down a sac bunt. Give me a DH who is a real hitter. Has nothing to do with pitchers getting injured while batting, it's about entertainment value.
There’s nothing more entertaining in baseball than a pitcher hitting a home run or two in a game.
Back in 16 Syndergaard hit two dingers in a game and the second one was after he showed bunt twice in the AB. That’s entertainment.
This is the reason small ball is gone. Learning how to bunt and do it well was a great part of the game. Moving that runner into scoring position so the lead off hitter could try to knock him in. It's a game of chess, now people want a game of checkers. They want to see fast quick runs. I want to see well thought out, battle hardened, earned runs.
Plus, like these other two said...when a pitcher hits a HR. Nothing better in all of baseball.

This definitely did not go the way the OP wanted it to go.
With that said until Base Wars comes back. I don't care.
I might even take a Bases Loaded remake.

The squeeky wheel gets the grease. Most players use Zone hitting and are the loudest with their disdain when it isn't working correctly. So The Show will put more attention to it. They will want to appease the largest crowd before those in the minority. So directional will get neglected and honestly, it shouldn't be on the same level. Zone hitting is made to be more accurate, to really pinpoint where you want to swing. Directional is a....I guess swing up that way. It's not fair to get the same output from someone who accurately places a pci, to someone who blanket covers a directional section of the strike zone.
-
I don't know if this is new or not because I never really bunt. However, I keep having an issue with left handed bunters. When I am pitched inside and the ball is still in the strike zone, I will get hit by the ball instead of bunting it. Counts as a strike since I was committed. If it's in the strike zone I shouldn't be getting hit.

Not even lying. Second attempt after posting this...I finally get it.
-
I'm having the worst luck with Posey, been at this for over an hour. Usually it might take me 2 or 3 tries. Never now than fifteen minutes...
-
Finest Votto or Finest Castellanos....although their 99 cards already are amazing...so I am thinking maybe Finest Winker?
-
My biggest complaint is usually if my IF kicks a ball. The next batter will 95% of the time blast a 2-run HR. I just know if I see an error then this will happen next.
-
I do the USA map but break it up in zones. I might spend a night doing AL west...Get my cards, sell them. Then do NL west another night. Get my cards sell them...and so on. Makes it not seem so daunting.
-
Tiger Woods golf on I want to say ps2 was something similar....However, it wasnt stamina based, it was accuracy base. You could hit for HUGE yardage but your accuracy would suffer big time. The slightest mistake would send the ball into the rough.
-
Awesome, thank you guys! I will start looking at those quirks if I am on a fence over two players. Maybe the quirks will push me one way or the other. I need to look at Castellanos. He has been my best hitter all year and by far the most HR's and second best average for me. Yet his card is "lower" in rating than most.

The current world series rewards are 400k and Arenado/ Bellinger/ Arrieta are 500k. If a kid spent 300 dollars to buy those cards with his mom's credit card he won't be playing this game much longer. Now I do think the BR program should be a bit more difficult, but anyone who suffers through 30(40 at the beginning of the year) Ranked wins in a month deserves the card just as much as anyone good enough to make world series
No they don't, not by any means. So you won 30 or 40 games; doesn't mean jack. Only ws winners deserve to be given a ws reward; the rest need to pony up stubs or cash.
I would rather have it how it this year than having 30 million stubs from working the market last year and physically not being able to purchase 40 cards. The only other solution would be to remove the stub cap, which i expect would see more outrage than the people that agree with this post. Also I believe you are an offline player correct? even if you tank for easy wins, 30 ranked wins is still a miserable experience
Why did you wait so long. I am an offline player, but still owned every card for the last five years. I just happen to believe that a ws or br reward should mean something.
Could not agree more. This participation trophy world we live in is ridiculous and disappointing
When did I say I wanted a participation trophy? I just want to be able to purchase cards with the stubs I earned on the market, the programs did that. Last year was the only year where there were million stub cards with 2 month wait lists. The prices of online rewards are almost exactly in line with what they were in 19. No one was complaining that cards weren't exclusive enough then. I would venture a guess that the BR program more than tripled the percentage of players that actually play the mode. Earlier in the year I would be a higher percentage of players played RS too. I'm not sure why more players playing a mode would be a bad thing
I would actually agree with most of this. I did not play BR or RS much at all last year due to knowing I am not really good enough to get the really nice rewards. I still don't have to have the best reward but its nice to know now I can work up to some really good cards while not being the absolute best.

I chose him because on the current day he was worth the most and I didn't know who I really wanted. I am thinking of selling him and getting Willy with a nice 20k stubs gain as well.
