First off... what's your favorite chain sub place? Jersey Mike's for me. #6, Mike's way.

I was standing in line waiting for my sub. The three guys behind the counter were chatting, and I thought I heard "The Show". I said "Are you guys talking about MLB the Show?" Turns out... yes.

So, we chatted for 15 minutes. One of the guys is a WS player who I've matched up with (I checked my game history, and yes, he beat me).

I'm sharing this as you guys "get it". I had the urge to mention it to my wife, and I know her response would be "Great - I'm glad you made friends with a bunch of 14-year-olds". For the record, wifey, they were all in their 20's. So... yeah.

So... PLEASE BE KIND. This video has NO PRODUCTION VALUES. All I wanted to do was share some geeky market data that I've been loading into Excel. If you're interested, let me know and I'll figure out a way to get the file to you (I'll probably just share it on Google Drive).

I think I'm 100% in your camp. I appreciate what SDS tried to do this year, but I'm just not as excited to play. I'm to the point where I'm wondering why I'm playing RS to get to one of 3 reward cards I don't even want. I'm kind of on autopilot. There are days when I don't even think about playing, and that hasn't happened before. I look at the content schedule on the app, and... "meh". At this point last year, I was looking forward to all star content. Now I'm thinking "Set 3? Ugh. I have to start over again."

I'm playing. I think I'm a nice guy overall.

Ugh. I think I'm going to take a few weeks off. I've finished 5 of the 6 divisions for TA3, I'm 3/4 through the current BR reward path, and finished the RS path (using all TA3 players).

And... I'm... burned out. I feel like Forest Gump after he ran across America 3 times... "I'm kinda tired... I think I'll go home now".

I've come to look at this year's edition as "work". I gave SDS the benefit of the doubt with the whole "set" thing, but I'm absolutely dreading going through sets 4, 5 and 6.

So, I'll take a break. I'll be back for sure, but I'm just not enjoying the game as much as I should.

I've always wanted to be first on something like this. I think I'm first.

Last night, I logged in, loaded up the TA4 East Showdown. Finished it, was bored to tears with the cards, and... went to bed at 10:30. Normally, I would have added the cards to my "TA" lineup and jumped into TA Conquest. I just can't do this again. This seems like "work". There's no progression. Like @Ericulous1_PSN said, in previous TA's, every one progressed with better and better cards. To grind TA4 again, with silly "Snapshot" cards... umm... I can't do it.

Wake me up when 2024 comes. Unless they do "Sets" again.

My wife said last night "I thought you were supposed to be starting a new series or something on your stupid game".

I said "I'm not even interested. And yes, now I consider it to be a "stupid game" too".

For one of the few times in the 25 years we've been married, I left her speechless. So, we just sat quietly with Netflix's "Quarterback" in the background and worked on a puzzle. That was way more satisfying than TA4. Finding a random piece and placing it perfectly? Just as good as a Perfect/Perfect.

BTW - if you haven't watched it, "Quarterback" is good. Even my wife likes it, so...

P.S. I'm sure someone at SDS is monitoring the game activity right now, and a red alert went up. "Why isn't arvcpa playing TA4? He always jumps right into the new content". They're probably using my MLBTS app to listen in on my conversations with my wife. "He's working on a JIGSAW PUZZLE??? Good Lord, what have we done with this "sets" thing?!?!".

Probably not. But I like to think that's what's happening.

It will be the first 2-day program of the year, to coincide with the length of time that the Padres will be in the playoffs.

This is the first year I really haven't flipped at all. However, I started buying up all the Core WBC cards from the BR program with any spare stubs I had at QS prices (primary golds). Those things didn't move in price for weeks... Until yesterday. I had hundreds of them, and when the dust cleared from selling, I magically had 900k stubs. A Mookie pull on Tuesday combined with the stubs put me over the top. Oddly, I think this earliest I've finished.

Where are you guys at?

After taking a few days of vacation with the wifey out to Las Vegas, I fired up the game this morning. Sold off my huge pile of Mazeroski's that I bought at 45k each. Bought all the cards I wanted (some at "buy now" - gasp). Collected my Brian Roberts. And, in the words of Forrest Gump... "I'm pretty tired... I think I'll go home now".

I'll play a little here and there to stay warm. Otherwise... Happy Holidays, stay safe and see you in 2024 (unless I see that there are going to be 27 versions of Schwarber in the next installment - then I'll be playing Super NES Baseball Stars).

I'm guessing that 8 people in this entire forum will find this interesting. But... I'm here for you 8. Actually, looking at this again, Trout is WAY bigger than Apple.

Hi Mom! Guess what I got for you this weekend? 60,000 XPS. And some flowers.

I understand folks getting worked up about the new "non-sell" approach to the WS reward pack (earned by points). I'm over it and will work with the program as it stands. I use RS to earn TA2 points and I'm not really too concerned with my record (and it shows).

But... I digress.

The biggest problem? SDS's math. Everything you earn is in increments of 5, 10 or 15. EXCEPT... the first 9 innings you play. You get 1 point. You don't get any points for wins, which stinks. That might keep a few players around for a few more innings.

So, I will either finish this program with 101, 106 or 111 points. As an accountant, I'm highly offended.

I feel better. Thank you for letting me rant about stupid things. Or, rip me in responses below. Either way, I'm good.

SDS gave me a free Milestone Trout for the inconvenience of having to wade through 15 threads of Nintendo issues.

New BR reward. Yes, another rehashed card, but one of my favorites every year. I will thoroughly enjoy using him for 3 weeks, then again in December.

For pretty much every new content drop since 2020, I'd jump right in and grind for a few hours. Today, I watched the stream, shook my head a few times, then turned it off. Went out for Mexican food with the wife and friends. Listened to a local band. Came home and watched a movie... And, I'm turning in early.

I'll play. But this will be the first time in my DD career that I don't earn the big cards. I just don't care. A big disappointment.
