MLB The Show 26 Franchise – 255 HR limit still exists: Season HR counter resets to 0 at 256
  • Alofoke1378_PSNA Alofoke1378_PSN

hank you for the information. Unfortunately, that makes this even more disappointing.

I actually experienced the same issue myself in MLB The Show 24 on PS4, and now it has happened again in MLB The Show 26 on PS5.

What concerns me most is that this is not simply a visual glitch. Once the season HR counter resets after 255, it can affect league leaders, season records, the Triple Crown and potentially awards, while the Career Totals continue recognizing the home runs.

If this issue has really existed for many years, I believe it deserves to finally be addressed. Franchise and RTTS are modes where long-term statistics and records are an important part of the experience.

I have already submitted an official bug report to San Diego Studio with screenshots clearly showing 0 HR in the season statistics while Career Totals show 256 HR.

Hopefully, bringing attention to the fact that this is still happening in MLB The Show 26 will help get it looked at again.

    UPDATE – Screenshot Evidence
I attempted to attach the screenshots here, but the forum currently displays the message: “You do not have enough privileges for this action.”
The screenshots were successfully attached to my official Bug Report submitted to San Diego Studio.
They clearly show the season HR counter at 0, while the player's Career Totals show 256 HR. I also submitted a screenshot of my PS5 profile showing my PSN ID and MLB The Show 26 playtime.
If a moderator or San Diego Studio representative needs the screenshots directly, I can provide them.
    Thank you.

    Hello everyone,

I am posting this because I have already submitted an official Bug Report to San Diego Studio and, after approximately one week, I have not received a response.

I am playing MLB The Show 26 on PlayStation 5 in Franchise Mode.

    PSN ID: Alofoke1378
    Created Player: Julio Jimenez
    Team: Toronto Blue Jays
    Season: 2026
    Games Played: 136+
    PS5 Playtime: approximately 275 hours

My created player reached 255 home runs during the same season.

When I hit HR #256, instead of the season total increasing to 256, the season HR counter reset to 0.

After the reset, every additional home run starts counting again from zero. In other words, the next HR is displayed as 1 instead of 257, then 2 instead of 258, and so on.

What makes the bug especially clear is that the game contradicts itself:

    • The current season statistics reset the HR total to 0.
    • The player's Career Totals still show 256 HR.
    • This is the player's first MLB season, so those career HR belong to this same 2026 season.

I have screenshots showing this discrepancy.

This is not only a visual problem. It can affect League Leaders, single-season records, the Triple Crown and potentially season awards, because the game no longer recognizes the correct HR total in the season statistics.

I have currently stopped playing my Franchise season because I do not want to continue accumulating incorrect statistics or finish the season without knowing whether the correct total can be restored.

Another important point: I experienced essentially the same problem in MLB The Show 24 on PS4. This is therefore not an isolated issue with my current PS5 save.

I understand that 255+ HR is an extremely unusual season total, but Franchise is a single-player mode and everyone should be able to enjoy the game using their preferred settings. A statistical counter should not reset simply because the player exceeds 255.

I have already submitted this through the official Report a Bug system with screenshots, but I have not received a response yet.

Has anyone experienced this specifically in MLB The Show 26?

More importantly, has anyone found a workaround or received confirmation from San Diego Studio about whether this can be fixed without losing the correct statistics in an existing Franchise save?

I would really appreciate it if San Diego Studio could investigate this long-standing issue.

    Thank you.
