Mookie has the best average on my team. His swing is one of the best in the game imo. His defense is great as well, only downside is the average arm.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS AND POINTERS. APPRECIATED!
Start with the AL Central. It is by far the easiest showdown and you can get some good cards out of it (Moncada, Buxton).
FOTF Michael Young has been amazing for me so far.
Brandon Woodruff (based solely on my investment decisions)
There are multiple FOF players that could improve your lineup, but here are my favorites so far:
FOF Correa at SS
FOF Rizzo or FOF Olsen at 1B. I prefer Rizzo because of his vision.
FOF Gallo at RF. I don't hit very well with him on HOF, but if you make contact and get under the ball it will leave the park more often than not.
FOF Soto is just a better version of his gold card.
Some good FOF pitchers are Ohtani and Snell.

Record is pretty irrelevant. What’s your ERA with him?
ERA is 4.4 which is much too high for my offesnse in most games. I have a 2.1 ERA with Kluber and I would hope Newhouser would be much closer to Kluber.
I agree with the comment that most lineups are righty heavy. I think that has a lot to do with it.

He his my only starter below .500 and it feels like my opponent either can't hit him at all or completely lights him up. Part of it might be bad luck with me not being able to score when he starts, but a record of 2-9 is just jarring to me.
I really don't want to take him out of my rotation, but I'm almost to that point as I think this is a good enough sample size. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pitch well with him?
Its hard to properly give advice since I have no idea how you are pitching with him. Are you often missing spots? Too predictable? Maybe part of it is just being unlucky. There are plenty of good cards in the game that some people struggle with.
Do you find certain pitches getting hit more? Do you feature the fastball too much that players just sit on that instead? Best advice I can give is to just try and keep mixing it up, both locations and pitch types and pray you don't hang anything.
I think it it might be me relying on the fastball too much, particularly on the outside edges against righties. I freak myself out thinking people are sitting inside FB, then they hit one out to the opposite field.
I'm only DeGrom, Scherzer, and Acuna away from Mantle and I'm sitting here watching Scherzer's price steadily rise. I'm not to the point of being able to afford them all, but I can swing getting Scherzer only (he's the one I'm most worried about).
I"m assuming this is because of the impending event? Should I go ahead and pull the trigger?

this is kinda a complaint thread..but im seeing other ppl hit so its mostly an I suck thread.
I've been playing this game since the 989 sports days. ive been playing online since 2017. 17 18 and 19 i did fine. each year i could score runs, hit have fun etc. i was never WS, but very close.
this year, what's is going on with the pitch speeds in RS? in events i can hit, on conquest mode on HOF difficulty i win 14/15 times. with plenty of PP on any pitch type.
my TV is set to game.
this year in RS, i cannot hit most pitches and if you ever face me, just throw gas anywhere and im late. ive never seen fastball velos like this ever. but my opponents hit them, i see streamers hit them.
does any GOOD player have any insight for those of us that cant even hit fastballs that are teed-up in the middle of the plate?
this is the most frustrated ive ever been with a video game in my life. and ive beaten Ghosts N Goblins on the original NES. im no stranger to perseverance. but this is ridiculous.
This isn't advice, but know that you aren't the only one. I was a WS player last year, but I'm stuck in the mid 700's this year. I can't put together enough wins on HOF to break through.
I faced someone yesterday that couldn't hit either, but he it one more good/okay HR to the opposite field than I did. I'm trying to not get frustrated, but it is very tough.
I've been hit and miss with him. His windup takes some getting used to because it is quicker than others. I personally find it less smooth and it makes him harder for me to control. Once I get used to his windup, usually the 2nd or 3rd inning, I start hitting my spots better. As a poster above said, if you have a patient opponent and you're not hitting your spots you'll be in trouble.
He also doesn't have a huge speed difference in his pitches. Everything is fast to very fast.

I’m starting to think Devers personally insulted every single member of SDS. The fact he’s a 81 and Walsh is 84 makes absolutely no sense.
maybe they just hate Boston... how does JD martinez get a -2 ?!
Well Barnes went diamond, so that doesn't track
Which is wild since the last two weeks he’s been a walking heart attack.
I sold 15 of Barnes last night because I thought there was no way he was going diamond. Jokes on me I guess.
I personally do not sell my gold investments unless they get above 5555 stubs. I also don't mind the idea of a long term investment though, especially after I have completed the live series collection. If you need the stubs, this strategy might not be the best one to follow as it is more reward but also more risk.
One thing to keep in mind (you might have already seen this happen) is that if a player is "expected" to go diamond and doesn't, his price will tank after the update due to panic selling. At that point you can buy up more cards and wait for the next update.

I have picked up Crochet, Oswalt, Lee, and Cabrera. I've had mixed results so far with Oswalt, while Lee has a 20.53 ERA (!!) in two starts and Crochet hasn't gotten a start yet. Cabrera has been a beast.
Does anyone else struggle to use Lee? I feel like I must be doing something wrong when pitching to righties because so far he's been absolutely lit up by anyone hitting from the right side.
I'm also wondering what everyone's thoughts are on Crochet and Oswalt. Oswalt's low H/9 rating scares me, but he has great speed differentials. Crochet seems like he could be a beast if you adequately mix in the offspeed.
Are there any other TA2 pitchers worth picking up?
What are you throwing to righties with Lee?
Sinkers low and inside, Cutters inside/outside, curves inside, and mix in the change up. I know one of my problems is controlling the change-up with pin point. I try to throw it low and out of the zone and it tends to drift into the bottom half of the zone. With a 20+ ERA that isn't the only issue though.
Try sinkers up and away. Many players (like me) start there PCI inside because a lot of people like throwing inside sinkers.
Gotcha, thanks for the tip. I don't like throwing the high sinker just because of the principle lol, but I should probably get over that.

That new Gary Sanchez card has been great for me so far. Once I get Torre he might get replaced, but I'm not so sure.
I love it, great addition. It also makes me really value BB/9 & control. Those pitchers with low BB/9 & control really feel like high risk/high reward this year.
Your pitchers only recover stamina if they are in your rotation, so this makes switching pitchers more complicated. It's better to find 5 pitchers you are comfortable with and stick with them because you will end up using all five at some point.
I'll play along. My wannabe god squad:
C Realmuto
1B Musial
2B Soriano
SS Banks
3B Freeman (secondary position)
RF Betts
CF Acuna
LF Finley
SP Glavine
SP Degrom
SP Burnes
SP Feller
SP 42 Flaherty
RP Rivera
RP Hand
RP Hader
RP Hoffman
RP Devin Williams
RP Franco
RP Gagne
CP Lee Smith
@crashbowman_mlbts said in How's your starting rotation doing?:
Cole, Sale, Burnes, Verlander (personal favorite of mine...I just seem to pitch well with him). Lately I have been testing out Bauer because he gives me fits when people use him against me...just so hard to pick up the rotation. I got Degrom finally two days ago and haven't pitched well with him...maybe I am working off he fastball too much. I blow away hitters in conquest games with him, but online was different.
Degrom has been in my rotation since week 1. I would say you definitely have to work off the slider. His changeup doesn't have the best control, but if you can get his confidence up on that pitch it also works well. The key is to keep people off balance and not throw too many fastballs.
My current rotation is Glavine, Degrom, Burnes, Feller, and 42 Flaherty. My top 4 is solid, but Flaherty can get hit around if the opponent is good at placing his PCI.
