MLB The Show 26 - What MLB Fans Deserve in Next Year’s Game
  • akapaco159_MLBTSA akapaco159_MLBTS

@fubar2k7_PSN Exactly. Honestly, I don’t care who ends up producing the game—but if they can’t get the job done or keep up with the times, something needs to change. I’ve played The Show for many years, and over that time I’ve watched it steadily decline. It’s now painfully clear they’re falling behind in presentation, graphics, and especially online play. The game needs a complete overhaul.

The storylines and Negro League additions, while appreciated, are no longer enough to mask its deeper flaws. Features like metal bats are meaningless if the core gameplay isn’t improving. I’m hopeful that by 2026 they can finally turn the page and make a gigantic leap forward. And even if they add the WBC in this year’s release, it still won’t matter if the graphics and presentation remain a complete mess.

I believe next year needs to be the year they truly elevate the presentation and realism of the game. Here’s what I mean:

    Authentic Licensing & Stadium Atmosphere
We need better integration of licensed music and more realistic stadium experiences — think closer camera angles for entrances, custom light shows, and team-specific traditions. As a Yankees fan, hearing Sinatra after a win or the iconic bleacher creature roll call would be incredible. I’m sure fans of other teams feel the same way about their own unique rituals.

    Major Graphics Overhaul
The visuals need a serious upgrade — from pre-game introductions to post-game celebrations, and every moment in between. The entire broadcast-style presentation should feel modern, immersive, and polished.

    True-to-Life Intensity
The energy of a walk-off in the 9th or the pressure of a playoff game should be undeniable. Just like in the latest football titles, you should feel the stakes — through crowd reactions, commentary, and atmosphere.

After playing the new college football games and the latest Madden, it’s clear: it’s time for baseball fans to get a true in-game experience. One that respects the legacy of the sport and delivers the depth and passion we all live for. The developers need to go all in — studying each team, their traditions, and what makes baseball feel like baseball.

We don’t just want a better game. We deserve one.
