I have more issues with the random relocation of my pitch location than I do on any of the umpire's calls.
Thats baseball randomness to a degree as well, but I feel MLB pitchers can throw a changeup in the dirt if they are trying to.
As a former pitcher who spent many years pitching, I had very good location of my 4 seam & 2seam fb, 12/6 curve, sweeping curve, and conventional change up.
When I was on, and I knew where I wanted to go with the ball, I'd hit my general spot.
In this game, even on perfect/good releases, the ball will be off 35-40% of the time. And at least 1 in 5 pitches the ball would randonly miss it's mark by 2-4 feet.
That's bad. There's definitely more wrong with pitch release/location. I can understand the ball being off by 3-6 inches, depending on overall control, break, and pitch type. But on fastballs with 90 control should not be off by 6 inches.
This is the most frustrating aspect of the game for me.
