Showdown Bosses: Check Swings

Is it just me or are check swings non-existent in Showdown against the Bosses? If you even lightly tap the swing button without committing, the hitter still lets it fly.
I primarily play vs. CPU and play enough to notice this as an anomaly exclusive to Showdown.
Anyone else notice something similar?

Yes i made a post earlier about check swings being full swings now. The slightest tap of the swing button results in a full swing now.

I have no problem checking my swings, do you know why?..its cause I have full control of my swing with analog stride, I pull back and I stride forward for a complete swing, not press a silly X button to swing.
