Events games won't allow me to use all of my players

I'm new to online play, but on the events games, I cannot use my team for some reason. In the last event, I think the requirements were max of 89 overall team, no throwback or legend players. I set up my team to meet these requirements, but when I went to a game, it set my team up with a bunch of random silvers, no FOTF, or diamonds, and only a few golds. Am I doing something wrong here?

It's not a regular lineup, you create an event lineup when you enter the event.

As you play more games, do you add players? I've been getting matched up with guys that have teams with a bunch of diamonds and fotf

Do you own any of the FOTF players or any LS Diamonds or Prospects?

In events you play with cards that you own. Those FOF cards you need to have them in your inventory in order to use them in events. It’s not like showdown or BR where you get to choose some cards at random. The good thing about events is that it’s free every time you enter. If you do have these cards, then try forfeiting the entry and see if they appear this time.

Yep, FOTF Santana, Prospect Drew Waters and Sean Murphy, Diamonds Matt Chapman, Lindor, Jose Ramirez. Interestingly enough it allows me to use the Granderson and Cargo cards, but nothing other than those
