Can you beat showdowns with directional hitting? Or do you need to use zone to have any chance?

You probably can if you take pitches until two strikes and have only a few more runs to score for the final boss. But I would really recommend you learn zone

Yes. You can absolutely beat showdown using directional hitting. It helps if you never swing at the first pitch and take until you have 2 strikes.

I’m having great success online this year with directional hitting. I’m getting way more easy pitches to hit. I was going to quit playing this game because in the past my opponents would throw everything on the edges and it was frustrating. Not sure exactly what they changed but the amount of pitches down the middle has significantly increased this year. Thank you SDS for helping out the directional hitters. I’ll keep playing and spending money as long as you continue to keep helping us lesser skilled players.

So yes you should be fine in showdowns.

Directional helps a lot for moments. Maybe I should try some showdowns with it

Seems pretty good this year IMO. Whenever things start to get out of hand for me the game does a wonderful job at getting me back in it. I’m having a blast and probably spend too much money on stubs but as long as the game helps me with success I’ll keep playing.
