MLB The Show 19 or MLB The Show 20?

I just played one ranked seasons game on MLB 19 The Show and I can honestly say that MLB 19 is a much more complete game and more enjoyable game than 20 and its not even close. I took a look at my team and felt like all the time i spent making world series and griding was worth it. I actually felt like I could beat anyone not just because i had all 99s but because i didn't have to worry about losing every game. I felt a huge weight off of my shoulders and had fun. The fact that I'm actually under 500 (I'm 11 - 14 in the current season and 75 and 55 in the game overall) in the low wild card in mlb 20 after 20 ish games where as in 19 i was always close to Championship series after 20 games shows a big difference. from expecting more bad things to happen than good is already a great reason to say that ranked season in MLB 20 is in its worse state its ever been in so not the game being the worst. Oh and sorry for ranting a bit i got carried away. Which one do y'all like more?

I miss 18 because of the market. Souvenirs were great for making stubs and you could buy Golds for less than 1K then just QS for profit, no flipping required.
As far as gameplay, 18 I could actually pitch and didn’t have to worry too much about the game forcing errors that starts rallies. Sure the hitting was bad in 18 but honestly 19 and 20 have some major hitting issues of their own.
I liked the content in 18 more also. Yes the stat grinds were excessive but I could do them however I chose. Now we have moments and showdown which are obviously tuned to make you hate this game and contemplate suicide. The freedom of choice in 18 was nice. People complain about having to play on Rookie over and over but honestly you didn’t have to do that if you didn’t want to. It was just the quickest way.

I agree. I enjoyed 18 despite not making World Series every season and the immortals being annoyingly hard or near impossible to hit but it made me a better hitter for 19. I enjoyed the game as a whole especially pitching. Content wasnt the best. I'd literally take mlb 16 over mlb 20. Like I'd rather have my go to cheesy golds with cheap diamonds with a more fun and solid game than what i have now in 20. MLB 17 was one of my all time favorites too. I feel like the covid-19 just messed up alot of things for people this year

Lol you think it's better because hitting was easier.

Honestly everything about this statement i disagree with. The souvenirs and immortal missions were the worst things MLB the show has ever done

I never thought I’d hear somebody miss 18. I’m pretty much in SDS’ corner and even I think that game was hot garbage. Combine slugfests with extremely poor content and you have a recipe for an awful game.

I miss mlb 16 the show the most.

Souvenirs were the easiest stub making scheme ever. I will never understand the hate they got.

Is anyone still playing RS in '19? wouldn't mind getting some H2H games in, you know the kind of games where everyone on the field has a grasp on the fundamentals of baseball...like fielding.

I do to except for the bunt cheese and the fielding was terrible like this year too
-
Once the fielding is fixed I think 20 is better than 19
-
'19 and '20 are about the same, IMO. Heavily compromised gameplay that shrinks the skill gap for the sole purpose of pushing more people to buy stubs, with little to no regard to whether the onfield gameplay is actually fun or makes sense moment-to-moment.
Gameplay-wise, '18 was actually quite a bit better than both by the end but the narrative had already been set by the time SDS "fixed it". Even then, I wouldn't say '18 was good, just that the input:reward ratio made sense. It actually felt like a video game rather than a heavily scripted boxscore simulator.
At the end of the day, we're just arguing about which is the best version of dogs***. '16 and '17 (at release) were special games... and then SDS started implementing all the "engagement" mechanics to push MTX, ultimately leading us to the game we have today.

Here’s my order:

Yes and no. If hitting was so much easier then why were there complains galore about line out city?
-
20 could be the best Show ever if they fix fielding. But if they don’t, it will be one of the worst. I don’t know how anyone could think 20 is a good game when fielders can’t make routine plays. Can barely even pick up the ball half the time. Fielding is absolutely atrocious.
-
I thought the first week this year was the most fun until they started patching things. I haven't been able to consistently hit since. I thought it was the pitch speeds, but I'm not so sure. Some days it feels ok, other days it feels like its underwater. Dont know if it's the timing window or what but its frustrating.

I checked the standings and saw that there were people playing h2h.

Hitting doesn't feel the same. With the lineouts in 19, i was still able to manufacture runs and win games unless i was facing kerhsaw or nolan Ryan. In 20 i could be facing someone at like 67 and 92 on the road in marlins park with corey kluber and get shutout despite hitting like 8 good okays. I don't feel like past skills matter much in 20 anymore

I don’t think good/okay should result in a hit that often.
Imo 20 hitting is far and away better than 19 hitting. Good input is definitely more rewarding this year, especially with the perfect/perfect mechanic. I don’t wanna sound like a [censored], but if you’re struggling this year, it’s most likely because you’re not as good as you think you are. You probably benefited from the more random hitting outcomes last year.

The issue is that good/okay with ball middle of PCI occurs at a high frequency. How can good timing with ball middle of PCI = okay contact?
Something is off.
