Well, for starters, they added countless new animations. Which includes, a bonus or penalty for fielding in the form of jumps on the ball.
It makes fielding more important, but obviously they haven't gotten it right yet.
I applaud improvements to the game. If they didn't make improvements, you'd be complaining that it's a roster update for $60.

CS level game. Battled back to tie it up 8-8 after being behind 8-0. Liner/popup to right field. Mike Trout and his gold fielding don't pick up the ball. It gets down for an extra base hit. He drives in that run to go up 9-8 and I lose. I'm now 33-5 in ranked this year so I'm not bad at the game. I don't mind losing if the other player is the one to beat me and not the game, but losing like that is so frustrating.
Trout lost the ball in the sun/lights.

I lost to a WS opponent due to my cap not locking on in the outfield, then Soto also getting the same animation. He was a good player but that is a killer that extends the inning and we know that leads to runs

It is surprising how bad SDS made fielding this year. It's like they ran out of time or something and couldn't finish their coding before the release date.
Ie -- My Pitcher is standing in the middle of the baseball indicator and cannot lock on to the ball so it drops at his feet...or my outfielder runs down a line drive and the ball hits his chest or goes right past him. SMH.
This is the worst fielding of any Show game that I can remember.The ball did go thru Buckner and it was a little roller...
Lol I have that, along with a few other Scully's calls, on my custom "Sounds of the Show"... so I hear that all the time.

I just had a game my outfielder did like 5 circles trying to lock on. 9th inning one on with a one run lead. Boy, Fingers has great control for his card /s. 1st game blown save. Although probably fielding, his pitches were not going where they were supposed to but I'm used to that.

That’s cool...I’m sure you’ve also seen the reports of how bad the pitching (hanging pitches with perfect release) and hitting (Good/Okay - Exit velocity slower than the pitch speed) are they working on those also?

I appreciate that @Victor_SDS responded. At least give him that. The pitching and hitting complaints are nothing compared to the fielding. The fielding issues are extreme. They need to fix them. Pitching and hitting aren't perfect, but I don't feel like they're deciding games to the same degree as fielding. The best player is still winning most of the time. Fielding is a big issue though. It's ruining games. Let's fight one battle at a time here.

Hey Victor, how about working on base running while you guys are it? That sucks just as bad as fielding.

I agree with you so much on this. SDS needs to look at the BIGGEST problem with gameplay right now and address that first... and 110% that MASSIVE problem is the fielding engine.
Hitting, pitching, and base running all have their issues as well.... but the fielding is just atrocious.

On the same boat. I’m 28-8 out of those 8 loses about 4 have come due to multiple defensive errors. The others it’s just due to my pitchers leaving everything over the plate since the pitch accuracy is terrible. Overall terrible game but will continue to play since it’s nice to compete but probably sticking to BR and Event games for the time being.

Well I mean I wouldn’t- all sports games are essentially that but add minor upgrades as programming and tech gets better. It felt like a better game than last years day 1, like 3-4 patches later, got worse.
