Queued up against a flawless player with an absolute goon squad. We’re talking Mantle, Sheffield, Reggie, etc. His team was so [censored] good he had Trout on the bench lol.
His starting pitcher was his created player (I know, strange). This guy threw full-on submarine with a near 100 heater/devastating curveball/slider/change-up. Basically just a broken card. Honestly I have no idea why SDS allows people to use that glitchy delivery.
The game was back and fourth the whole way through. By the sixth inning, we both had scored 16 runs. My opponent had caught so many breaks with my players making loads of errors. Trout missed a few (shocker), Torres was a black hole, Eddie wouldn’t pick up the ball; just a complete all-around disaster.
We burned through our pens like crazy. He had used Gagne, Ohtani, Rivera, and Fingers, and I had used Morton, Wood, and Yates.
It was a really close game in the eighth inning and I was down a run. The score was 17-16. Fingers was tough but Trout had a good at-bat and managed to get a two-strike single. Then he brought in Wagner to face Olson. Two outs, two strikes, throws a middle-in slider, and BOOM! Two-run bomb and I take the lead. After two more back-to-back bombs, and a string of hits, I pull away with 24 runs and a huge lead. Because my pen was absolutely dead I had Kluber close out the game to secure the 24-18 win. What a friggin’ game.
Also it was on HOF difficulty.
