How's 2020 the show??

I swore I wouldn't buy it and even with this lockdown stuff I still have no interest. I been playing a few games here and there of 19... same [censored] as usual. I find I win a lot of games and hit/pitch very well... but whenever I get matched up with someone with a VERY bad record or novice in anyway, that's when all the [censored] ensues.

MY LAST GAME
This guy has about 600 losses. Took his starter out in the 2nd inning, proceeded to put out pitchers with low or NO energy. He walked me too many times and EVERYTHING I hit was a line drive right at someone. Even though this dude was throwing right down the heart of the plate since I was laying off all of his breaking stuff that he couldn't get in the strike zone. I struck him out 16 times. He's flailing at EVERYTHING. He beat me 1-0. And it was this game that I remember why I hate this company so much and reminded why I didn't buy 20. They do [censored] when it comes to bad matchups. I can take a loss by a good competitor. Or someone whose far better than me. But there's way too many games like THIS one that causes just way too much frustration. I'm sorry but why are you rewarding someone who is throwing the ball to hang over the plate...I had about 20 line outs. For perspective, my starting line up batting averages are mostly well above .300. I have a good eye, patient, wait for my pitch. And I'm even better pitcher. This guy proved on multiple occasions to not be nearly the match and yet continuously awarded and taken out of jams. Disgusting. I don't care if he's new player.... if he gets matched with a World Series player, why should I be handicapped to his skill set?

I will not be buying 2020 based on all of this "DDA" type [censored] that most definitely ensues. Is it still a thing in this years version of the game? Glancing at some of the boards it looks like there are definitely other issues. It's really a shame that there is not another competitive baseball game out. Because [censored] THE SHOW. Been playing for a decade and the direction they've taken is just shameful. Not that they give a [censored].

It's a big giant disappointment. If I could get my money back I would no question. Multiple bugs, hitting sucks, pitching is a [censored] shoot. One minute guy can't touch you then the AI says enough of that, 3 HR in a row on pitches that hung even though u hit marks. Its set up to promote the buying of stubs. save your money and frustration level and don't buy this piece of c**p. Just my opinion

Word. Thanks for heads up... that sucks to hear. I was low key hoping that I was missing out and they stopped with the [censored] that they clearly put into the online game play. But they bank on people getting frustrated or rather constantly improving their team and buying precious stubs. [censored] SDS tho. They're not getting anything from me. Sorry guys... hope they iron it out for many many many of you who DID buy this years game.

Sorry to hear it dude. And yeah I plan on passing forever. I hope they figure it out in future years and I can come back to it again. But not holding my breath.

Of course, people will have their own opinions that may or may not agree with me.

20 is just as bad as 19, but in its own unique way.

Fielding is worse this year by far. AI baserunners seem more clueless this year than last. Check-swinging feature seems worse this year. Control over pitch location was an issue in 19, and still is in 20.

One thing that was noticeably improved this year, is that catchers can actually block pitches in the dirt more consistently.

If i were desperately searching for a reason to convince you to buy this game, I’d be struggling. The best thing about it is that they’re reusing old cards that we used to love in years past. This isn’t simply due to corona, with the prestige XP and so on it’s pretty obvious that it’s intentional for the 15th anniversary. I like it, it makes a change from all SS cards or all immortals. Sorry I have nothing gameplay related I can offer, this game plays really badly,

After few patches(?) Worst game ever!
Fixed nothing with new bugs

It's sounding more like the gameplay is bad on its own merit rather than the weird DDA [censored]. I've never had a complaint about the fielding before, but could imagine being super frustrated if that was consistently wonky. [censored] guys... I really hope they get a patch for all you guys that did buy this years game! That blows.

It needs work. Pitching control and fielding errors are the major issues. Base runners do dumb stuff and lots of Perfect/Perfect and line outs if it’s not “your game.”

SDS made a product and the product got worse over time, but still keep coming up with ways to take peoples money with the content and not fix the horrendous issues. I see why people play offline HR derby now

YEP. No more of my money tho. They need to fix gameplay online before I ever buy another game from them again. Glad I skipped out on 20.

The game has a ton of potential. But as of right now, the gameplay sucks. However, they did a really good job again with the content.

OP 2020 is worst, even more rng and less skill based wins. I haven’t played in like a week waiting for a patch.
