MLB The Show 27 should add co-op Road to the Show, where you and a friend create players at different positions on the same team and build your careers together. You could move through the minors, get called up, and try to win a World Series together.
The best part would be experiencing everything from your own player’s perspective. If you’re batting back to back, you could watch your friend’s at-bat from the on-deck circle, then step up yourself. If you’re already on base, you’d watch from there, hoping they bring you home. Even watching from the dugout would make it feel like you’re actually teammates.
On defense, both players should stay at their positions without knowing who’s getting the fielding opportunity. You could be at shortstop watching your friend chase down a ball in center, or suddenly have a grounder hit your way. That uncertainty would make the game feel more real and keep both players involved.
Having your own careers while sharing the same team, big moments, and season goals would make RTTS something you and your friend could get invested in together.
