When you see what pitcher you are facing, do you constantly keep their pitching repertoire in mind, or do you just react to what pitch you see?

I definitely keep their repertoire in mind, and then even more importantly pay attention to how your opponent uses the repertoire as well. After a few innings you'll usually notice some patterns. Do they throw a lot of the same pitch, or do they try to mix it up. Some people even try to mix it up a little too much, so you know if you saw a slider early in the at bat, they may not throw one again. Stuff like that.

I am quite possibly the last person you want to take advice from on this. That said, I am a pretty good hitter (a WS player when I actually play Ranked) and just went 15-0 in an Event.

My strategy is a little odd, though. I always take a look at the pitcher’s repertoire and pitch speeds, but for me, I hit best when I just track the ball and recognize the pitch as it comes in rather than thinking too much about what might be coming.

I have some very twitchy, OCD-like tendencies with my PCI. I use Free Anchor and typically start my PCI right at the pitcher’s release point. The one exception is when I’m batting lefty against a righty. For whatever reason, I do better moving my PCI toward the release point as the pitch comes in. Makes absolutely no sense, but it’s just what feels most comfortable to me.

Then, whenever I start struggling, I’ll switch my PCI between Bat, Diamonds, and Altitude. I keep the outer PCI off, the inner PCI set to fade, and the center PCI always visible. I usually keep the opacity around 80-90% and use Ocean for the color.

Not sure how much any of this helps, because I’m definitely an oddball when it comes to hitting, but it works for me!
